Abstract
A convenient and sensitive resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) method for the detection of chitosan (CTS) has been developed via forming Cu-Zn supramolecular complex by complexation reaction, hydrophobic force and electrostatic attraction. The microstructure of the complex was characterized by FT-IR, zeta potential, scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV-vis and RRS. Furthermore, the interaction mechanism among Cu(II), Zn(II), CTS and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) was studied. The results revealed that CTS and Cu(II) or Zn(II) formed a supramolecular complex with RRS enhancement in weak acid condition. In the presence of SDBS, the RRS intensity of CTS-Cu(II)-SDBS or CTS-Zn(II)-SDBS was significantly higher than that of the binary system without SDBS at the same CTS concentration. The RRS intensity of CTS-Cu(II)-Zn(II)-SDBS was higher than that of CTS-Cu(II)-SDBS and CTS-Zn(II)-SDBS. The RRS intensity increased linearly with the increase of CTS concentration made it possible to determine CTS quantitatively. In the range extending from 0.10 to 5.00 μg/mL, the equation of linear regression was ΔI=1848.8c-138.3 with a correlation coefficient 0.9996, and the detection limit was estimated to be 37.96 ng/mL. The study was successfully applied for the determination of CTS in health food samples, suggesting its great potential toward CTS analysis.

Abstract
Background:
Drug-protein complexes is one of the crucial factors when analyzing the
pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of a drug because they can affect the excretion, distribution,
metabolism and interaction with target tissues.
Objectives:
The aim of this study was to investigate the interaction of human hemoglobin (Hb) and
angiotensin I converting enzyme inhibitory peptide (ACEIP) in the absence and presence of different-
frequency electromagnetic fields (EMF).
Methods:
Various spectroscopic methods like fluorescence spectroscopy, ultraviolet, circular
dichroism and conductometry techniques were applied to investigate Hb-ACEIP interaction in the
absence and presence of EMF.
Result:
The presented spectroscopic studies indicated that EMF changed the interaction between
Hb and ACEIP. The a-helix content of Hb decreased upon binding to ACEIP and conductivity of
the solution enhanced upon binding. Based on Stern-Volmer equations, it could be stated that the
Hb-ACEIP affinity was higher in the presence of EMF.
Conclusion:
It can be concluded that for patients who use the drug to control blood pressure, a
low-frequency electromagnetic field would have a positive effect on the uptake of the drug.

Abstract
A convenient and sensitive triple-wavelength overlapping resonance Rayleigh scattering (TWO-RRS) method for the detection of chito-oligosaccharides (COS) was proposed based on enhancing the rigid surface of porous reticular spatial structure of gelatin and COS by introducing allura red AC (AR). The interaction and resultant porous reticular spatial structure were characterized with transmission electron microscopy (TEM), RRS, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The results indicated that gelatin and COS formed porous reticular spatial structure with an average diameter of 1.5-2.0 μm, and the RRS value of COS-AR-gelatin ternary system with gelatin participation was significantly higher than that of COS-AR binary system. Under the optimal conditions, the enhanced TWO-RRS intensity of the system was linearly proportional to COS concentration in the range of 0.30-2.50 μg/mL, and the regression equation was ΔI = 4933.2c-446.21 with R2 = 0.9980. The limit of detection was 0.0478 μg/mL. So, a new method for the detection of COS was established and verified in the health products with satisfactory results.

Abstract
A simple, fast, costless, sensitive and selective method of resonance light scattering coupled with HPLC was established for the determination of 6-mercaptopurine in human urine sample. In a Britton-Robinson buffer solution of pH5.5, the formation of coordination complex between 6-mercaptopurine and metal palladium (II) led to enhance the RLS intensity of the system. The RLS signal was detected by fluorescence detector at λ(ex)=λ(em)=315 nm. The analytical parameters were provided by the coupled system, the linear of 6-mercaptopurine response from 0.0615 to 2.40 μg L(-1) and the limit of detection (S/N=3) was 0.05 μg L(-1). The presented method has been applied to determine 6-mercaptopurine in human urine samples which obtained satisfactory results. Moreover, the reaction mechanism and possible reasons for enhancement of RLS were fully discussed.

Abstract
The intrinsic physical properties of the noble metal nanoparticles, which are highly sensitive to the nature of their local molecular environment, make such systems ideal for the detection of molecular recognition events. The current review describes the state of the art concerning molecular recognition of Noble metal nanoparticles. In the first part the preparation of such nanoparticles is discussed along with methods of capping and stabilization. A brief discussion of the three common methods of functionalization: Electrostatic adsorption; Chemisorption; Affinity-based coordination is given. In the second section a discussion of the optical and electrical properties of nanoparticles is given to aid the reader in understanding the use of such properties in molecular recognition. In the main section the various types of capping agents for molecular recognition; nucleic acid coatings, protein coatings and molecules from the family of supramolecular chemistry are described along with their numerous applications. Emphasis for the nucleic acids is on complementary oligonucleotide and aptamer recognition. For the proteins the recognition properties of antibodies form the core of the section. With respect to the supramolecular systems the cyclodextrins, calix[n]arenes, dendrimers, crown ethers and the cucurbitales are treated in depth. Finally a short section deals with the possible toxicity of the nanoparticles, a concern in public health.

Abstract
The present study describes an investigation by fluorescence quenching, circular dichroism and UV-visible spectroscopy of the interaction between norfloxacin (NRF) and human serum albumin (HSA) in the presence of electromagnetic fields (EMFs). The results obtained from this study indicated that NRF had a strong ability to quench HSA at λex = 280 nm. In addition, a slight blue shift occurred, which suggested that the microenvironment of the protein became more hydrophobic after addition of NRF. The interaction between the NRF and HSA, whether in the absence or presence of an EMF, was considered to be a static quenching mechanism. Moreover, synchronous fluorescence demonstrated that the microenvironment around Trp became modified. Data of HSA-NRF in the presence of EMFs between 1 Hz–1 MHz confirmed the results of quenching and blue shifts. Corresponding Stern-Volmer plots were also drawn and the resultant Ksv and kq values were compared. Moreover, the binding parameters, including the number of binding sites, the binding constant and the distance, r, between donor and acceptor, were calculated based on Förster’s non-radiative energy transfer theory. According to far and near UV-CD, the formation of the complex caused changes of the secondary and tertiary structures of HSA. The obtained results are significant for patients who are subjected to high-frequency radiation as this was found to reduce the affinity of NRF to HSA.
