Investigating the effects of solvent polarity and temperature on the molecular, photophysical, and thermodynamic properties of sinapic acid using DFT and TDDFT. RSC Adv 2024; 14:23364-23377. Abstract
Sinapic acid (SA) is widely used in cosmetics, foods, and pharmaceuticals due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, antimicrobial, antifungal, anticancer, and cardioprotective properties. However, environmental factors such as solvent polarity and temperature can influence its biological activity. This work determined how solvent polarity and temperature affected the molecular, photophysical, and thermodynamic properties of SA in gas and various solvents using semi-empirical (MP6), Hartree-Fock (HF) with the B3LYP method and a 6-311++G(d,p) basis set, and density functional theory (DFT) with various basis sets, such as 3TO-3G*, 3-21G+, 6-31G++G(d,p), 6-311++G(d,p), aug-CC-PVDZ, LanL2DZ, SDD, and DGD2VP. The results indicated that solvent polarity influences molecular and spectroscopic properties, such as bond angles, dihedral angles, bond lengths, FTIR spectra, solvation energy, dipole moments, HOMO-LUMO band gaps, chemical reactivity, and thermodynamic properties, resulting from interactions between the drug and solvent molecules. The findings suggested that increasing the temperature within the range of 100 to 1000 Kelvin leads to an increase in heat capacity, enthalpy, and entropy due to molecular vibrations, ultimately causing degradation and instability in SA. Furthermore, the results showed that SA underwent a redshift in the absorption peak (from 320.18 to 356.26 nm) and a shift in the fluorescence peak (from 381 to 429 nm) in the solvent phase compared to those in the gas phase. Overall, this study provides background knowledge on how solvent polarity and temperature affect the properties of SA molecules.

Abstract
In this work, new thiosemicarbazides (ECA-1, ECA-2) and their Cu (II) complexes (ECA-1-Cu, ECA-2-Cu) were synthesized and their structures were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR, LC-MS, UV-Vis, and thermogravimetric analysis methods. Also, the surface morphology of the all compounds were examined by SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). In the second stage, in vitro antioxidant capacity of the obtained compounds was investigated. The evaluation of the antioxidant properties of both synthesized ligands and complexes in this study was carried out by DPPH and FRAP methods. According to the results, both complexes exhibited more antioxidant capacity than the corresponding ligands. When antioxidant effects are compared for DPPH (SC50 = 5.27 ± 0.05 μM) and for FRAP (7845.69 ± 16.75 mmolTE/g), compound ECA-2-Cu appears to have the best inhibition effect. The complexes were found non-electrolytic in nature with melting point of above 250 °C, and electronic spectra and magnetic behavior demonstrated that the complexes were found to be tetrahedral geometry. Further, in silico the ADMET properties which studies are a significant role in improving and predicting drug compounds were calculated using web-based platforms. The theoretical calculations were made using the method of Density Functional Theory (Frontier molecular orbital analyze and Nonlinear optical properties). Also, molecular docking studies were performed to evaluate the binding interactions between the ligand and complex compounds and Human Peroxiredoxin 2. Both in vitro and in silico results indicated that synthesized compounds could act as potent antioxidant agents.

Abstract
Two new coordination polymers namely, [(AgCN)4LS]n (1) and [(AgCN)3LN]n (2), were successfully synthesized by the reaction of AgNO3 and cyanide as a co-anion with LS[1,1'-(hexane-1,4-diyl)bis(3-methylimidazoline-2-thione] and LN[1,1,3,3-tetrakis(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazole)propane] ligands in order to use them for the preparation of magnetic nanocomposites with MnFe2O4 nanoparticles by an efficient and facile method. They were then well characterized via numerous techniques, including elemental analysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, TGA, PXRD, SEM, TEM, EDX, VSM, BET, ICP, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The considered polymers and their magnetic nanocomposites with nearly the same antibacterial activity demonstrated a highly inhibitive effect on the growth of Gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis) bacteria. By considering the simple separation and recyclable characters of the magnetic nanocomposites, these materials are suitable to be used in biological applications.

Abstract
Nitrification inhibitors (NIs) are widely applied in soil to improve the nitrogen utilization efficiency. Currently, commonly used nitrification inhibitors, like 3,4-dimethylpyrazole phosphate (DMPP), are not resistant to high temperature and do not have a phosphate-solubilizing ability. In this paper, a novel polymer nitrification inhibitor (PNI) with nitrification inhibition ability, phosphate-solubilizing ability, and good thermal stability is chemically synthesized from acrylic acid (AA) and 3,4-dimethylpyrazole (DMPZ). The PNI has a high glass transition temperature (Tg: ∼78 °C) and effective decomposition temperature (Td: ∼216 °C). The good thermal stability makes it suitable for high tower granulation processes. The PNI demonstrates an excellent nitrification inhibition performance when the dosage is 0.5 wt % of the urea fertilizer and presents good phosphate-solubilizing ability when the volume ratio of PNI to water is about 1:1000. The PNI can be applied to the field to realize nitrogen immobilization and phosphate-solubilizing at the same time or be used as the synergistic additives for fertilizers such as water-soluble fertilizers, liquid fertilizers, and compound fertilizers.

Abstract
Gallic acid is abundantly found in amla (Phyllanthus emblica), a deciduous of the family
phyllanthaceae. Gallic acid, the major constituent of the plant, was methylated to 3,4,5 trimethoxy
gallic acid, which then underwent steglich esterification first with paracetamol and then with
4-hydroxy acetophenone to yield 4-acetamidophenyl 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate and 4-acetyl phenyl
3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate “respectively”. 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV, FT-IR and mass spectroscopy
were used to characterize the synthesized compounds. Density functional theory (B3YLP) using a
6-31G (d,p) basis set has been used for quantum chemical calculations. AIM (Atom in a molecule)
approach depicted weak molecular interactions within the molecules, whereas the reactive site and reactivity
within the molecule were examined by global and local reactivity descriptors. The HOMO and
LUMO energies and frontier orbital energy gaps were calculated by time dependent DFT approach using
the IEFPCM model. A small value for the HOMO-LUMO energy gap indicated that easier charge
transfer occurs within compound 4. The nucleophilic and electrophilic reactivity was determined by
MEP (molecular electrostatic potential) experiment. Polarizability, dipole moment, and first hyperpolarizability
values were calculated to depict the NLO (nonlinear optical) property of both the synthesized
compounds. The antimicrobial activity was also carried out and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity
against several strains of bacteria and certain unicellular fungi were exhibited by synthesized
compound 3.

Abstract
Seven cobalt(II) complexes of pyrazole derivatives and dinitrobenzoate ligands were synthesized and characterized. The single-crystal X-ray diffraction structure was determined for one of the ligands and one of the complexes. The analysis and spectral data showed that all the cobalt complexes had octahedral geometries, which was supported by DFT calculations. The complexes and their free ligands were evaluated against fungal strains of Candida albicans and emerging non-albicans species and epimastigotes of Trypanosoma cruzi. We obtained antifungal activity with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranging from 31.3 to 250 µg mL-1. The complexes were more active against C. krusei, showing MIC values between 31.25 and 62.5 µg mL-1. In addition, some ligands (L1-L6) and complexes (5 and Co(OAc)2 · 4H2O) significantly reduced the yeast to hypha transition of C. albicans at 500 µg mL-1 (inhibition ranging from 30 to 54%). Finally, the complexes and ligands did not present trypanocidal activity and were not toxic to Vero cells. Our results suggest that complexes of cobalt(II) with ligands derived from pyrazoles and dinitrobenzoate may be an attractive alternative for the treatment of diseases caused by fungi, especially because they target one of the most important virulence factors of C. albicans.

Abstract
Hierarchical super-architectures from small molecule self-assembly have interesting properties and play an indispensable role in many fields. In most cases, a self-assembly process refers to multiple intermolecular interactions among intricately designed building blocks. Here, a supramolecular assembly with a tubular morphology with dimensions ranging from nanometers to micrometers was prepared through self-assembly of 3,5-dimethyl-4-iodopyrazole (DMIP), a molecule with an unprecedented simple structure. As predicted by density functional theory (DFT) calculations, the hydrogen bond and halogen bond interaction energy between DMIP molecules can be up to 32.81 kJ mol-1, which effectively drives DMIP molecules to assemble into fibrils, sheets, and finally, tubular architectures. Intriguingly, the formed tubular structure can be easily removed by heating at 100 °C, enabling the material to function as a disposable template to guide linear organization of nanostructures. As a proof of concept, ordered Au or Ag nanochains with diameters ranging from 18 to 120 nm were facilely prepared in high yield.

Abstract
Five of six new Zn(II) and Cu(II) complexes were active in the ring-opening polymerization (ROP) of ε-caprolactone (CL) under solvent-free conditions, producing polycaprolactones (PCLs) of high crystallinity with molecular weights between 22,900 and 38,700 g mol−1 and decomposition temperatures above 260 °C. 1H NMR analysis demonstrated that the PCLs obtained were mainly linear, having hydroxymethylene groups at the chain ends. The results obtained indicated a significant improvement in terms of the ratio of monomer:initiator compared to related Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes. In addition, the structures of the complexes 1 and 4 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The synthesis and full characterization of all complexes are described in this paper.

Abstract
In this work, six complexes (2⁻7) of Cr(III) and Co(II) transition metals with triazole ligands were synthesized and characterized. In addition, a new ligand, 3,5-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)toluene (1), was synthesized and full characterized. The complexes were obtained as air-stable solids and characterized by melting point, electrical conductivity, thermogravimetric analysis, and Raman, infrared and ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy. The analyses and spectral data showed that complexes 3⁻7 had 1:1 (M:L) stoichiometries and octahedral geometries, while 2 had a 1:2 (M:L) ratio, which was supported by DFT calculations. The complexes and their respective ligands were evaluated against bacterial and fungal strains with clinical relevance. All the complexes showed higher antibacterial and antifungal activities than the free ligands. The complexes were more active against fungi than against bacteria. The activities of the chromium complexes against Candida tropicalis are of great interest, as they showed minimum inhibitory concentration 50 (MIC50) values between 7.8 and 15.6 μg mL-1. Complexes 5 and 6 showed little effect on Vero cells, indicating that they are not cytotoxic. These results can provide an important platform for the design of new compounds with antibacterial and antifungal activities.

Abstract
The pyrazole compounds 4-(3-(2-amino-3,5-dibromophenyl)-1-(4-substitutedbenzoyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-5-yl) benzonitriles (4–6) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental, IR, 1HNMR spectral methods. In addition, the synthesized compounds were subjected to density functional theory for further understanding of the molecular architecture and optoelectronic properties. The optimized geometric parameters were in support of the corresponding experimental values. The FT-IR spectra of 4–6 have been investigated extensively using DFT employing B3LYP/6-31G (d,p) level theory. The molecular electrostatic potential analysis has been utilized to identify reactive sites of title compounds. Natural bonding orbital analysis proved the inter- and intra-molecular delocalization and acceptor–donor interactions based on the second-order perturbation interactions. The calculated band gap energies revealed that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. The polarizability and hyperpolarizability were calculated which show that compounds posses nonlinear optical nature.

Abstract
3,5 - Dimethylpyrazolium glyceroborate is a nitrification inhibitor (a member of pyrazole derivatives) used for the fixation of nitrogen into the soil. In this study, an HPLC-DAD method was developed and validated for determination of 3,5 - dimethylpyrazole in order to determine 3,5 - dimethylpyrazolium glyceroborate in fertilizer samples. For method development, analytical parameters like type of eluent solution and column filling material and device parameters like eluent flow rate, column oven temperature and measurement wavelength were all optimized. For method validation, implementations were performed for linearity, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), specificity, stability, intra- and inter-day precision and accuracy. The developed and validated method was used for inhibitor detection in nitrogenous fertilizers. Sample analyses were performed with 95.6-103.3% recovery rates and 0-4.61% relative errors.

Abstract
In this present study, the experimental and theoretical vibrational frequencies of an important pharmacological molecule 2-(4-benzoyl-1,5-diphenyl-1[Formula: see text]-pyrazol-3-yl)-4[Formula: see text]-naphto[2,3-[Formula: see text]][1,3]oxazin-4-one have been researched. The experimental FT-IR and laser-Raman spectra of the title compound have been taken in the region (4000–400[Formula: see text]cm[Formula: see text]) and (4000–100[Formula: see text]cm[Formula: see text]), respectively. The vibrational modes and optimized structure parameters have been computed by using DFT/B3LYP methods with 6-311[Formula: see text]G(d,p) basis set. In our calculations, Gaussian 09W software program has been used. Assignments of theoretical vibrations have been obtained by potential energy distribution analysis using VEDA 4 software program. This program is important because it performs assignments with 10% precision. We have obtained a fairly good agreement between experimental and theoretically obtained results, and these results have supported the literature. Additionally, we have examined the highest occupied molecular orbital and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energies, the other related molecular energy values, nuclear magnetic resonance ([Formula: see text]C and 1H-proton) chemical shifts, and UV–Vis wavelengths (electronic absorption wavelengths of the title compound) by using the mentioned calculation level. The nonlinear optical properties of the title compound have also been determined by using DFT/B3LYP/6-311[Formula: see text]G(d,p) level.

Abstract
A novel unsymmetrical azine 2-(4-methoxybenzylidene)-1-(1-(4-isobutylphenyl) ethylidene) hydrazine (UA) was prepared and characterized by IR, (1)H and (13)C NMR spectral studies. A 2D - potential energy scan (PES) of p-isobutylacetophenone (IBAP) was the portal to the conformational analysis of UA by density functional theory (DFT) methods using 6-31G(d,p) basis set by Gaussian 03 program. The theoretical IR frequencies were found to be in good agreement with the experimental values. The IR frequencies of UA were analyzed by means of Potential energy Distribution (PED %) calculation using Vibrational Energy Distribution Analysis (VEDA 4) program. The experimental NMR chemical shift values of UA were compared with the theoretical values obtained by DFT method. Nonlinear optical behavior of the unsymmetrical azine is also examined by the theoretically predicted values of dipole moment (μ), polarizability (α0) and first hyperpolarizability (βtot). Stability of the UA molecule has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The electrochemistry of UA studied experimentally by cyclic voltammetry is complemented by the computational analysis of the anionic form of the molecule UA. The determination of various global and local reactivity descriptors in the context of chemical reactivity is also performed and the electrophilicity at the vital atomic sites in UA is revealed. Bader's Atoms in molecules (AIM) theory of UA indicated the presence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the molecule. The molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) and HOMO-LUMO orbital analysis are also performed for the molecule UA.

Abstract
Vibrational spectral analysis of the molecules 3,6-dichloro-4-methylpyridazine (DMP) and 3,6-dichloropyridazine-4-carboxylic acid (DPC) was carried out using FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopic techniques. The molecular structure and vibrational spectra of DMP and DPC were obtained by the density functional theory (DFT) method, using B3LYP functional, with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. A detailed interpretation of the Infrared and Raman spectra of the two molecules were reported based on potential energy distribution (PED). The theoretically predicted FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of the titled molecules have been simulated and were compared with the experimental spectra. Determination of electric dipole moment (μ) and hyperpolarizability β0 helps to study the non-linear optical (NLO) behavior of DMP and DPC. Stability of the molecules arising from hyperconjugative interactions, charge delocalization have been analyzed using natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. (13)C and (1)H NMR spectra were recorded and (13)C and (1)H NMR chemical shifts of the molecules were calculated using the gauge independent atomic orbital (GIAO) method. UV-visible spectrum of the compounds was also recorded in the region 200-1100 nm and electronic properties, HOMO (Highest Occupied Molecular Orbitals) and LUMO (Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbitals) energies were measured by time-dependent TD-DFT approach. Charge density distribution and site of chemical reactivity of the molecule have been studied by mapping electron density isosurface with molecular electrostatic potential (MESP).

Abstract
In this paper, computational studies were carried out on anastrozole and letrozole, chemotherapy drugs used against breast cancer. Optimization and frequency calculations were performed at B3LYP/6-31G (d) basis set and vibrational frequencies were assignment. Single point calculations were performed at DFT method with a hybrid functional B3LYP/6-311G (d, p) basis set. Theoretical NMR data were obtained at DFT method with a hybrid functional B3LYP/6-311G++ (2d, p) with GIAO (Gauge-Independent Atomic Orbital). IEF-PCM method was used as solvation model. NBO calculations were performed by the same basis set and calculation method with single point calculation. Global and localized reactivity parameters; fukui indices (f) chemical hardness (η), softness (S), chemical potential (μ), electronegativity (χ) and electrophilicity index (ω) were calculated. All computational parameters were compared with the experimental results obtained from the literature.
