Study on the ternary mixed ligand complex of palladium(II)-aminophylline-fluorescein sodium by resonance Rayleigh scattering, second-order scattering and frequency doubling scattering spectrum and its analytical application

A ratiometric sensor for selective detection of Hg2+ ions by combining second-order scattering and fluorescence signals of MIL-68(In)-NH2

Ratio fluorescence has attracted much attention because of its self-calibration properties. However, it is difficult to obtain suitable fluorescent materials with well-resolved signals simultaneously under one excitation. In this work, we report a different strategy, using MIL-68(In)-NH₂ as both the fluorescence element and the scattered light unit, and coupling the fluorescence and the scattered light to construct the fluorescence and scattered light ratio system. Based on the optical properties and the second-order scattering (SOS) of the material nanoparticles, the synthesized MIL-68(In)-NH₂ can be used to realize the ratio detection of Hg²⁺. Because the scattering intensity of small particle MIL-68(In)-NH₂ is weak, SOS is not obvious. When Hg²⁺ is introduced the coordination reaction between the amino nitrogen atoms of MIL-68(In)-NH₂ and Hg²⁺ make the particles larger, resulting in the decrease of fluorescence and the enhancement of SOS. As a result, a novel Hg²⁺ ratiometric detection method is developed by using the dual signal responses of the fluorescence and scattering. Under the optimal conditions (pH = 6, reaction time 5 min, room temperature, and the maximum excitation wavelength 365 nm), the linear range of the method is 0-100 μM, and the detection limit is 5.8 nM (Ksv = 9.89 × 10⁹ M^-1). In addition, the probe is successfully used to evaluate Hg²⁺ in actual water samples. Compared with the traditional method of recording only the fluorescence signal, the proposed fluorescence-scattering method provides a new strategy for the design of ratiometric sensors.

Ratiometric fluorescent nanoprobes based on Resonance Rayleigh Scattering and inner filter effect for detecting alizarin red and Pb2

A new ratiometric fluorescent strategy for detection of alizarin red (ARS) was designed based on the fluorescence of CDs and scattered light of scatterer. The CDs-ARS system can be used to detect Pb²⁺ based on that the complexation between ARS and Pb²⁺. With the addition of ARS, the fluorescence of CDs was apparently quenched via inner filter effect (IFE). Resonance Rayleigh Scattering (RRS) at 350 nm was enhanced by an increase in the number of scatterer. The value of ln(I₃₅₀/I₄₂₅) was linearly correlated with ARS concentration in the range of 0-80 μM, and the detection limit for ARS was calculated to be 68.1 nM. When Pb²⁺ was added to the CDs-ARS system, the complexation of ARS with Pb²⁺ increased the size of the scatterer, resulting in the increase of the RRS intensity at 350 nm. Due to the affinity between ARS and Pb²⁺, the overlap of the emission spectra of CDs and the absorption spectra of ARS was reduced, resulting in the IFE effect was inhibited and the recovery of the fluorescence of CDs. The value of I₃₅₀/I₄₂₅ linearly increased with the addition of Pb²⁺ within the range of 10-50 μM, the limit of detection was 36.8 nM. As for practical application, CDs and CDs-ARS were applied to detect ARS and Pb²⁺ in tap water and poor water, respectively. The recovery values were obtained to be 95.4-98.8% and 93.4-101.7%. Furthermore, the system of CDs-ARS has been successfully applied to H1299 cell imaging.

Study on interaction between palladium(ІІ)-Linezolid chelate with eosin by resonance Rayleigh scattering, second order of scattering and frequency doubling scattering methods using Taguchi orthogonal array design

Linezolid reacted with palladium to form 1:1 binary cationic chelate which further reacted with eosin dye to form 1:1 ternary ion association complex at pH 4 of Walpole's acetate buffer in the presence of methyl cellulose. As a result not only absorption spectra were changed but Resonance Rayleigh Scattering (RRS), Second-order Scattering (SOS) and Frequency Doubling Scattering (FDS) intensities were greatly enhanced. The analytical wavelengths of RRS, SOS and FDS (λex/λem) of ternary complex were located at 538 nm/538nm, 240 nm/480 nm and 660 nm/330 nm, respectively. The linearity range for RRS, SOS and FDS methods were 0.01-0.5 μg mL(-1), 0.1-2 μg mL(-1) and 0.2-1.8 μg mL(-1), respectively. The sensitivity order of three methods was as RRS>SOS>FDS. Accuracy of all methods were determined by recovery studies and showed recovery between 98% and 102%. Intraday and inter day precision were checked for all methods and %RSD was found to be less than 2 for all methods. The effects of foreign substances were tested on RRS method and it showed the method had good selectivity. For optimization of process parameter, Taguchi orthogonal array design L8(2(4)) was used and ANOVA was adopted to determine the statistically significant control factors that affect the scattering intensities of methods. The reaction mechanism, composition of ternary ion association complex and reasons for scattering intensity enhancement was discussed in this work.

Resonance Rayleigh scattering, second-order scattering and frequency doubling scattering spectra for studying the interaction of erythrosine with Fe(phen)3(2+) and its analytical application

In a weak alkaline Britton-Robinson buffer medium, erythrosine (Ery) can react with Fe(phen)(3)(2+) to form 1:1 ion-association complex, which will cause not only the changes of the absorption spectra, but also the remarkable enhancement of resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS), second-order scattering (SOS) and frequency doubling scattering (FDS) spectra, and the appearance of new spectra of RRS, SOS and FDS. The maximum RRS, SOS and FDS wavelengths (λ(ex)/λ(em)) of the ion-association complex are located at 358/358 nm, 290/580 nm and 780/390 nm, respectively. The increments of scattering intensities (ΔI) are directly proportional to the concentration of Ery in a certain range. The detection limits for Ery are 0.028 μg mL(-1) for RRS method, 0.068 μg mL(-1) for SOS method and 0.11 μg mL(-1) for FDS method, respectively. Among them, the RRS method has the highest sensitivity. Based on the above researches, a new highly sensitive and simple method for the determination of Ery has been developed. In this work, the spectral characteristics of absorption, RRS, SOS and FDS spectra, the optimum conditions of the reaction and influencing factors for the RRS, SOS and FDS intensities were investigated. In addition, the reaction mechanism was discussed.
