Abstract
Eight Schiff bases, synthesized by the reaction of 4-aminoantipyrine with different cinnamaldehydes, were studied in the solid state by using vibrational spectroscopy (IR) and X-ray diffraction techniques. The analysis was extended to the solution phase through ultraviolet-vis, fluorescence spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. Finally, the crystal structures of four compounds (3b, 3d, 3g, and 3h) were determined and studied. In addition to the experimental study, theoretical calculations using the semiempirical method PM6/ZDO were performed to understand better the compound's molecular properties, UV-vis, and infrared spectra. The primary difference is the angular conformation of the terminal phenyl rings around the corresponding linking C-N and C-C σ-bonds. Furthermore, as a result of extended bonding, the > C=N- azomethine group-containing Cpyr-N=(CH)-(CR)=(CH)-Cbz chain (with R=H for 3b, 3d, and 3h, and R=CH3 for 3g) is planar, nearly coplanar, with the mean plane of the pyrazole ring. Hirshfeld surface (HS) analysis was used to investigate the crystal packing and intermolecular interactions, which revealed that intermolecular C-H···O and C-H···N hydrogen bonds, π···π stacking, and C-H···π and C=O···π interactions stabilize the compounds. The energy contributions to the lattice energies of potential hydrogen bonds were primarily dispersive and repulsive. All derivatives were tested in vitro on LPS-stimulated mouse macrophages to assess their ability to suppress the LPS-induced inflammatory responses. Only a slight reduction in the level of NO production was found in activated macrophages treated with 3h. Additionally, the derivatives were tested for antimicrobial activity against several clinical bacteria and fungi strains, including three biofilm-forming microorganisms. Nevertheless, only Schiff base 3f showed interesting antibacterial activities with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values as low as 15.6 μM against Enterobacter gergoviae. On the other hand, Schiff base 3f and, to a lesser extent, 3b and 3h showed antifungal activity against clinical isolates of Candida. The lowest MIC value was for 3f against Candida albicans (15.6 μM). It is interesting to note that the same Schiff bases exhibit the highest activity in both biological evaluations.

Abstract
2-(Antipyrin-4-ylhydrazono)-2-(4-nitrophenyl)acetonitrile (AHNA) films were deposited via thermal evaporation technique. The optical properties of AHNA films and electrical characteristics of Au/AHNA/n-Si/Au heterojunction diode have been reported. The optical properties of AHNA films were investigated using the spectrophotometric measurements of optical transmittance and reflectance over spectral range 190-2500 nm. The films have indirect allowed optical band gap of 3.6 eV. The refractive index of the films was calculated and the dispersion parameters of the films were determined on the light of the single oscillator model. The electrical properties of Au/AHNA/n-Si/Au heterojunction diode were studied in terms of current-voltage characteristics. The device showed rectification behaviour with a rectification ratio of 100 at ±1 V. The conduction mechanisms and diode parameters such as ideality factor, barrier height and series resistance of the device were determined. The device under illumination showed photovoltaic properties. The short circuit current and open circuit voltage were found to be function of illumination intensity. The device satisfies the conditions to be used as photodiode.

Abstract
We have reported synthesis and characterization of (E)-2-nitro-4-[(phenylimino)methyl]phenol by using X-ray crystallographic method, FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopies and density functional theory (DFT). Optimized geometry and vibrational frequencies of the title compound in the ground state have been computed by using B3LYP with the 6-311G+(d,p) basis set. HOMO-LUMO energy gap, Non-linear optical properties and NBO analysis of the compound are performed at B3LYP/6-311G+(d,p) level. Additionally, as remarkable properties, antioxidant activity of the title compound (CMPD) has been determined by using different antioxidant test methods i.e. ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), hydrogen peroxide scavenging (HPSA), free radical scavenging (FRSA) and ferrous ion chelating activities (FICA). When compared with standards (BHA, BHT, and α-tocopherol), we have concluded that CPMD has effective FRAP, HPSA, FRSA and FICA.

Abstract
A complete vibrational analysis of 3,4-dihydrocoumarin and 3-methylcoumarin have been performed according to SQM force field method based on ab initio and DFT calculation 6-311++G(d,p) basis set and their frequencies are compared. The influences of carbon-oxygen bond and methyl group to the vibrational frequencies of the title compounds have been discussed. The pronounced decrease of the lone pair orbital occupancy and the molecular stabilization energy show the hyperconjugation interaction from the NBO analysis. Calculations of molecular orbital geometry show that the visible absorption maxima of DHC and 3MC correspond to the electron transition between frontier orbitals such as translation from HOMO to LUMO. Gauge-including atomic orbital (GIAO) 1H and 13C chemical shift calculations have been calculated. Area of high, neutral and low electrostatic potential is determined for DHC and 3MC.

Abstract
The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 6-amino-1-methylpurine (AMP) have been recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-50 cm(-1) respectively. The optimized geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of AMP have been obtained by DFT level of theory using B3LYP method with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. A complete vibrational assignment aided by the theoretical harmonic frequency analysis has been proposed. Purines, including substituted purines and their tautomers, are the most widely occurring nitrogen-containing heterocyclic in nature. Purines and pyrimidines make up the two groups of nitrogenous bases, including the two groups of nucleotide bases. Two of the four deoxyribonucleotides and two of the four ribonucleotides, the respective building-blocks of DNA and RNA, are purines. The calculated vibrational values are in good agreement when they are compared with IR and Raman experimental data. Amine-imine tautomerism of 6-amino-1-methyl purine is studied in detail. In agreement with experimental results, it was found that imine tautomer is more stable than amine tautomer.

Abstract
In the present work, we reported a combined experimental and theoretical study on molecular structure, vibrational spectra and NBO analysis of 4-bromo-o-xylene (BOX). The FT-IR (400-4000 cm(-1)) and FT-Raman spectra (50-3500 cm(-1)) of BOX were recorded. The molecular geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies and bonding features of BOX in the ground state have been calculated by using the density functional B3LYP method with 6-311++G(d,p)/6-311+G(d,p) higher basis sets. The energy and oscillator strength are calculated by time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT). To determine conformational flexibility, molecular energy profile of BOX was obtained by B3LYP method with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set with respect to selected degree of torsional freedom, which gives three stable conformers. Besides, molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), non-linear properties and NMR analysis were performed at DFT level of theory.
