Abstract
Six known products (4-9) were prepared from reaction of adipoyl chloride with 1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene according to the literature. From (2,3,4-trimethoxyphenyl)(2-(2,3,4-trimethoxyphenyl)cyclopent-1-en-1-yl)methanone (4) of them, four new 1,2-disubstituted cyclopentane derivatives (10-13) with phenyl and benzyl units were synthesized by reactions such as hydrazonation, catalytic hydrogenation and bromination. The obtained compounds 4-13 were examined for their in vitro inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) and α-glucosidase enzymes. All compounds 4-13 showed inhibition at nanomolar level with Ki values in the range of 45.53 ± 7.35-631.96 ± 18.88 nM for AChE, 84.30 ± 9.92-622.10 ± 35.14 nM for BChE, and 25.47 ± 4.46-48.87 ± 7.33 for α-Glu. In silico molecular docking studies of the potent compounds were performed in the active sites of AChE (PDB: 1E66), BChE (PDB: 1P0I), and α-glucosidase (PDB: 5ZCC) to compare the effect of bromine atom on the inhibition mechanism. The optimized molecular structures, HOMO-LUMO energies and molecular electrostatic potential maps for the compounds were calculated by using density functional theory with B3LYP/6-31 + G(d,p).

Abstract
This paper reports on a study of the photophysical properties, density functional theory (DFT) calculations, infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopic techniques of a series of aurone compounds. The photophysical properties were investigated using UV absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy in a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) solution. Furthermore, the fluorescence quantum yields of the target compounds (1-24) were also investigated. Remarkably, these compounds revealed high quantum yields (Φ = 0.001-0.729) as compared to the already existing aurones in literature. The DFT calculations were performed to elucidate the electronic structure, energy levels and draw a comparison between experimental and theoretical findings. The simulated properties such as molecular frontier orbitals, the density of states, reactivity descriptors (GCRD), electrostatic potential distribution, transition density matrix, electron localization function (ELF) and localized orbital locator (LOL) have been calculated using DFT. The DFT calculations provided insight into the electronic structure and energy levels of the aurone compounds, while the IR and UV spectroscopy results shed light on their functional groups and electronic transitions, respectively. The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the photophysical properties of aurone compounds and suggest their potential use in technological applications.

Effect of different end-capped donor moieties on non-fullerenes based non-covalently fused-ring derivatives for achieving high-performance NLO properties. Sci Rep 2023; 13:1395. Abstract
A series of derivatives (DOCD2-DOCD6) with D-π-A configuration was designed by substituting various efficient donor moieties via the structural tailoring of o-DOC6-2F. Quantum-chemical approaches were used to analyze the optoelectronic properties of the designed chromophores. Particularly, M06/6-311G(d,p) functional was employed to investigate the non-linear optical (NLO) response (linear polarizability ⟨α⟩, first (βtot) and second ([Formula: see text]tot) order hyperpolarizabilities) of the designed derivatives. A variety of analyses such as frontier molecular orbital (FMO), absorption spectra, transition density matrix (TDMs), density of states (DOS), natural bond orbital (NBO) and global reactivity parameters (GRPs) were employed to explore the optoelectronic response of aforementioned chromophores. FMO investigation revealed that DOCD2 showed the least energy gap (1.657 eV) among all the compounds with an excellent transference of charge towards the acceptor from the donor. Further, DOS pictographs and TDMs heat maps also supported FMO results, corroborating the presence of charge separation states along with efficient charge transitions. NBO analysis showed that π-linker and donors possessed positive charges while acceptors retained negative charges confirming the D-π-A architecture of the studied compounds. The λmax values of designed chromophores (659.070-717.875 nm) were found to have broader spectra. The GRPs were also examined utilizing energy band gaps of EHOMO and ELUMO for the entitled compounds. Among all the derivatives, DOCD2 showed the highest values of βtot (7.184 × 10-27 esu) and [Formula: see text]tot (1.676 × 10-31 esu), in coherence with the reduced band gap (1.657 eV), indicating future potentiality for NLO materials.

Abstract
In this study, we report the synthesis of a new organic–inorganic molecular salt of the clinically used antifungal drug fluconazole, (H2Fluconazole).SnCl6.2H2O. By detailed investigation and analysis of its structural properties, we show that the structure represents a 0D structure built of alternating organic and inorganic zig-zag layers along the crystallographic c-axis and the primary supramolecular synthons in this salt are hydrogen bonding, F···π and halogen bonding interactions. Magnetic measurements reveal the co-existence of weak ferromagnetic behavior at low magnetic field and large diamagnetic contributions, indicating that the synthesized material behaves mainly as a diamagnetic material, with very low magnetic susceptibility and with a band gap energy of 3.6 eV, and the salt is suitable for semiconducting applications. Extensive theoretical study is performed to explain the acceptor donor reactivity of this compound and to predict the Cl-substitution effect by F, Br and I. The energy gap, frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs) and the different chemical reactivity descriptors were evaluated at a high theoretical level. Calculations show that Cl substitution by Br and I generates compounds with more important antioxidant ability and the intramolecular charge transfer linked to the inorganic anion.
