Abstract
In this work, novel vic-dioxime ligand (LH2 ) containing bound to the N4 -oxime core moiety and its complexes with Cu(II), Ni(II), Ti(IV), VO(IV), and Zn(II) salts have been studied. The structure of the ligand and its complexes were successfully synthesized and characterized using NMR (1 H and 13 C), LC/MS/MS spectrometer, FT-IR and UV/VIS spectroscopy, melting point, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Vic-dioxime ligand (LH2 ) (1) and its metal complexes ([Cu(LH)2 ] (2), [Ni(LH)2 ] (3), [Ti(LH)2 ]Cl2 (4), [VO(LH)2 ] (5), and [Zn(LH)2 ] (6), respectively) were tested for them in-vitro antibacterial and antioxidant activities. According to the metal chelating results of the study, it was determined that compounds (1), (2), (3), and (6) showed very good activity, and especially compound (2), had a stronger metal chelating capacity due to ligand dissociation from the synthesized metal complexes, which then would chelate Fe(II) in the experimental setting. When microorganisms were evaluated in terms of the % viability effect, it was observed that all compounds had activity against C. Albicans and S. Cerevisiae at rates similar to antibiotics.

Nano-Azo Ligand and Its Superhydrophobic Complexes: Synthesis, Characterization, DFT, Contact Angle, Molecular Docking, and Antimicrobial Studies. J CHEM-NY 2020. Abstract
Metal complexes of the 2,2'-(1,3-phenylenebis(diazene-2,1-diyl))bis(4-aminobenzoic acid) diazo ligand (H2L) derived from m-phenylenediamine and p-aminobenzoic acid were synthesized and characterized by different spectral, thermal, and analytical tools. The H2L ligand reacted with the metal ions Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II) as 1 : 1 stoichiometry. All complexes displayed an octahedral geometry according to the electronic and magnetic moment measurements. The IR spectra revealed the binding of the azo ligand to the metal ions via two azo nitrogen atoms and protonated carboxylate O in a neutral tetradentate manner. Both IR and 1H NMR spectra documented the involvement of the carboxylate group without proton displacement. The thermal studies pointed out that the complexes had higher thermal stability comparable with that of the free ligand. SEM images revealed the presence of the diazo ligand and its Cd(II) complex in a nanostructure form. The contact angle measurements proved that the Cd(II) complex can be considered as a superhydrophobic material. The molecular and electronic structure of H2L and [Cd(H2L)Cl2].H2O were optimized theoretically, and the quantum chemical parameters were calculated. The biological activities of the ligand, as well as its metal complexes, have been tested in vitro against some bacteria and fungi species. The results showed that all the tested compounds have significant biological activities with different sensitivity levels. The binding between H2L and its Cd(II) complex with receptors of the crystal structure of S. aureus (PDB ID: 3Q8U), crystal structure of protein phosphatase (PPZ1) of Candida albicans (PDB ID: 5JPE), receptors of breast cancer mutant oxidoreductase (PDB ID: 3HB5), and crystal structure of Escherichia coli (PDB ID: 3T88) was predicted and given in detail using molecular docking.

Abstract
Reaction of N,N'-(cyclohexane-1,2-diylidene)bis(4-fluorobenzohydrazide), C20H18F2N4O2, (LF), with zinc chloride and mercury(II) chloride produced different types and shapes of neutral coordination complexes, namely, dichlorido[N,N'-(cyclohexane-1,2-diylidene)bis(4-fluorobenzohydrazide)-κ2N,O]zinc(II), [ZnCl2(C20H18F2N4O2)], (1), and dichlorido[N,N'-(cyclohexane-1,2-diylidene)bis(4-fluorobenzohydrazide)-κ4O,N,N',O']mercury(II), [HgCl2(C20H18F2N4O2)], (2). The organic ligand and its metal complexes are characterized using various techniques: IR, UV-Vis and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopies, in addition to powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), single-crystal X-ray crystallography and microelemental analysis. Depending upon the data from these analyses and measurements, a typical tetrahedral geometry was confirmed for zinc complex (1), in which the ZnII atom is located outside the bis(benzhydrazone) core. The HgII atom in (2) is found within the core and has a common octahedral structure. The in vitro antibacterial activities of the prepared compounds were evaluated against two different bacterial strains, i.e. gram positive Bacillus subtilis and gram negative Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. The prepared compounds exhibited differentiated growth-inhibitory activities against these two bacterial strains based on the difference in their lipophilic nature and structural features.
