Abstract
A water-soluble turn-on fluorescent probe PNAP for pH has been designed and synthesized. PNAP was consist of pyrene as fluorophore and morpholine as receptor. Owing to the photoinduced electron transfer (PET) effect, the fluorescence of PNAP was quenched, while PNAP exhibited a remarkable "turn-on" fluorescence with the increase of acidity. Notably for its pKa of 2.15, PNAP was one of the pH fluorescent probes used in extremely acidic environments. Furthermore, PNAP also displayed good repeatability, strong anti-ion interference ability, high sensitivity and selectivity toward pH. In addition, PNAP has been successfully applied to the test strips and monitor the pH of environment water samples and realistic samples, showing its good promising prospect.

Abstract
The host-guest inclusion complexes that comprise an inverted cucurbit[7]uril (iQ[7]) and a quinoline derivative, 4-(4-dimethylaminostyryl) quinoline (DSQ) at different pHs were exploited as multiple supramolecular sensors to sense l-α-amino acids. DSQ complexation inside iQ[7] at different pHs leads to increased fluorescence and formation of different-colored iQ[7]-DSQ complexes. The enhanced fluorescence of DSQ after iQ[7] encapsulation may be attributed to limited dimethylamine rotation and the formation of a twisted internal charge transfer (TICT) state. The DSQ@iQ[7] sensors have different affinities for l-α-amino acids at different pHs. Therefore, we propose a pH-stimulus response supramolecular sensor for the discrimination of structurally similar l-α-amino acids in aqueous solution.

Abstract
pH fluorescent probes possess many advantages, including intracellular detection, rapid response time and nondestructive testing. In this paper, a highly selective and sensitive fluorescent pH probe based on triethylenetetramine bearing double dansyl groups (1) was synthesized. This probe offers fluorescent measurement of pH value in the range of 5.81-7.21 in aqueous solution, with an 8.64-fold enhancement of fluorescent emission intensity over the unmodified probe. Probe 1 shows a fluorescent color change from a pale yellow to bright green when the pH is increased from 5.81 to 7.21. In addition, probe 1 shows good potential as a fluorescent visualizing sensor for pH values in living GS cells of epinepheluscoioides. The mechanism of the fluorescent response of probe 1 to solution pHs was further clarified by NMR, fluorescent spectra, and UV-vis absorption spectra. The results indicate that the fluorescent emission will shift with an increase in solution pHs, due to increasing deprotonation of the nitrogen atom on the sulfonamides. Deprotonation of the sulfonamide group will inhibits the intramolecular charge transfer process between the imino group and the naphthalene ring, resulting in the recognition phenomenon of blue shift and enhancement of fluorescent emission intensity.

Abstract
A fluorescent pH probe based on diphenylalanine-modified dansyl (FF-Dns) was designed and synthesized. The probe showed sensitive fluorescence emission to pH change over a wide range of 1-13 in aqueous solution. At pH 4-10, FF-Dns displayed the characteristic fluorescent emission of dansyl group (yellow); while protonation of the dimethylamino group caused a very weak fluorescence emission at pH 1-4, and deprotonation of the sulfonamide group caused an emission blue-shift to the green region at pH 11-13. These properties endow FF-Dns with the potential to detect pH variation in physiological environments.

Abstract
The compound (E)-8-hydroxyl-2-[(E)-2-(2, 4-dihydroxyphenyl)vinyl]-quinoline (1) has been developed as a fluorometric and colorimetric dual-modal probe for pH detection in solution and in vivo. Remarkable changes in the fluorescence intensity with large Stokes shifts and colorimetric responses were observed as a function of pH. The sensing mechanisms involving protonation and deprotonation processes over the acidic and alkaline pH ranges were confirmed by 1H NMR and IR spectroscopic analysis. Furthermore, the application of probe 1 for the imaging of live PC3 cells was successfully achieved. Test strips based on probe 1 were fabricated, and were found to act as a convenient and efficient pH test kits.

Abstract
The probe CT was synthesized and investigated as a novel label-free chemosensor for Ga(3+) detection in water. Probe CT showed remarkable selectivity and sensitivity for Ga(3+) in Tris-HCl aqueous buffer solution (pH7.0). The chemosensor responded rapidly to Ga(3+) with a 1:1 stoichiometry. Meanwhile, the unapparent changes of fluorescence lifetime decays suggest the turn-on process of probe CT by Ga(3+) which appears to be a static mechanism.
