Abstract
In nanotechnology, the synthesis of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) by mixed doping with metals and non-metals has emerged as an appealing path of investigation. This review offers comprehensive insights into the synthesis, properties, and emerging applications of mixed-doped CQDs, underlining their potential for revolutionary advancements in chemical sensing, biosensing, bioimaging, and, thereby, contributing to advancements in diagnostics, therapeutics, and the under standing of complex biological processes. This synergistic combination enhances their sensitivity and selectivity towards specific chemical analytes. The resulting CQDs exhibit remarkable fluorescence properties that can be involved in precise chemical sensing applications. These metal-modified CQDs show their ability in the selective and sensitive detection from Hg to Fe and Mn ions. By influencing their exceptional fluorescence properties, they enable precise detection and monitoring of biomolecules, such as uric acid, cholesterol, and many antibiotics. Moreover, when it comes to bioimaging, these doped CQDs show unique behavior towards detecting cell lines. Their ability to emit light across a wide spectrum enables high-resolution imaging with minimal background noise. We uncover their potential in visualizing different cancer cell lines, offering valuable insights into cancer research and diagnostics. In conclusion, the synthesis of mixed-doped CQDs opens the way for revolutionary advancements in chemical sensing, biosensing, and bioimaging. As we investigate deeper into this field, we unlock new possibilities for diagnostics, therapeutics, and understanding complex biological processes.

Abstract
A novel turn-on fluorescent sensor for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) was prepared from chitosan (CS) coating mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) loaded with 1-(4-Aminophenyl)-1,2,2-triphenylethene (TPE-NH2) and silver nanoparticles (AgNCs). The surface of MSNs was coated by CS as the gatekeeper and the template for loading of AgNCs. Because of the surface plasmon-enhanced energy transfer (SPEET), AgNCs effectively quenched the fluorescence emission of nanoparticles. In the presence of H2O2, AgNCs can be oxidized to Ag+, resulting in the recovery of fluorescence. This fluorescent sensor was characterized with respect to its chemical composition, morphological features and optical properties by means of FTIR, XRD, TGA, SEM, TEM, XPS, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. The MSN/TPE-CS@Ag nanoparticles showed good sensitivity and selectivity for H2O2 even with various interfering ions and agents. Under optimized conditions, the detection limit for H2O2 was 0.64 μM in the rage of 1-300 μM. The feasibility of the practical application of this probe was confirmed by accurate quantitative of H2O2 in practical samples.

Abstract
Förster resonant energy transfer between atoms separated at a distance of a few nanometers has strong relevance to different properties of matter. In this work, the resonant energy transfer rate is derived from the electric potential in a system with one dipole interacting with a separated 2D plane of dipoles. It shows an R-2 (R: distance between dipole and 2D plane of dipoles) dependency on the distance of dipole layers, which is different from previous theoretical evaluations with an R-4 dependency. The electroluminescence (EL) properties are studied in different rare earth (Re: Tm, Tb, Ho, Yb, Er) distributed single atomic layer doped Al2O3 nanolaminates prepared by atomic layer deposition, in which the distance between single atomic layers of Re3+ is modulated at the atomic scale. Our theoretical results are consistent with the changes of EL intensity and decay time with the distance between the single atomic rare earth doping layers. This result is crucial for increasing the accuracy in biosensing and design of photonic materials.

Abstract
A plasmon-enhanced fluorimetric and colorimetric dual sensor was designed to detect mancozeb based on fluorescein (as a fluorimetric reporter) and AgNPRs (as a fluorescence enhancer and colorimetric reporter). The sensing mechanism was based on the shape transformation of AgNPRs due to etching and anti-etching effect of S2O32- and mancozeb. We observed that AgNPRs enhanced the fluorescence intensity of fluorescein around 4-fold. By adding S2O32-, the AgNPR florescence enhancement effect decreased, also SPR peak of AgNPRs blue-shifted and the solution color altered from blue to purple. The fluorescein fluorescence intensity and AgNPR's SPR peak position restored in the presence of mancozeb due to its protecting effect on AgNPRs. The restored fluorescence intensity and the SPR wavelength shift were proportional to the mancozeb concentration at the range of 0.005-0.1 and 0.005-0.075 mg/L, respectively. The developed sensor was successfully applied to measure mancozeb in fruit juice samples.

Abstract
In this study, we designed a dual colorimetric and fluorometric sensor by using nitrogen and phosphor doped carbon dots (N, P-CDs) and Ag nanoprisms (AgNPrs) to detect 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP). For this purpose, we applied the AgNPrs/I- mixture to establish a shape transformation based colorimetric method for the detection of 6-MP. The assay mechanism of colorimetric method was based on etching and protecting effect of I- and 6-MP on the AgNPrs. In the presence of I-, as an etching agent, the solution color altered from blue to purple and the position of AgNPrs' local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) peak shifted to the blue wavelengths. This phenomenon was assigned to the morphological change of AgNPrs. In the presence of 6-MP, AgNPrs were protected from etching by I-, so the LSPR peak position and solution color of AgNPrs remained unchangeable. Furthermore, the fluorescence intensity of N, P-CDs decreased with adding AgNPrs/I- due to the spectral overlap between etched AgNPrs and N, P-CDs. The CDs' quenched fluorescence was restored in the presence of 6-MP, as a result of the protecting effect of 6-MP on the AgNPrs. These facts have been applied to develop a dual sensor for the determination of 6-MP at the range of 10-500 nM and 30-500 nM by colorimetric and fluorometric detection methods. The detection limits were obtained 10 and 4 nM for fluorometric and colorimetric methods, respectively. The developed sensor was utilized for dual signal analysis of 6-MP in human serum samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract
Lanthanide materials have great applications in optical communication, biological fluorescence imaging, laser, and so on, due to their narrow emission bandwidths, large Stokes' shifts, long emission lifetimes, and excellent photo-stability. However, the photon absorption cross-section of lanthanide ions is generally small, and the luminescence efficiency is relatively low. The effective improvement of the lanthanide-doped materials has been a challenge in the implementation of many applications. The local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect of plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) can improve the luminescence in different aspects: excitation enhancement induced by enhanced local field, emission enhancement induced by increased radiative decay, and quenching induced by increased non-radiative decay. In addition, plasmonic NPs can also regulate the energy transfer between two close lanthanide ions. In this review, the properties of the nanocomposite systems of lanthanide material and plasmonic NPs are presented, respectively. The mechanism of lanthanide materials regulated by plasmonic NPs and the scientific and technological discoveries of the luminescence technology are elaborated. Due to the large gap between the reported enhancement and the theoretical enhancement, some new strategies applied in lanthanide materials and related development in the plasmonic enhancing luminescence are presented.
