Abstract
BACKGROUND Infertility caused by drugs that inhibit serotonin reuptake has been attributed to serotonin toxicity. Serotonin has been linked to cause a rise in prolactin and cortisol. This study examined the effects of meperidine, sertraline, tianeptine and combinations on female rat reproductive function. METHODS Female rats were split into 8 groups (n=7): healthy control (HG), meperidine (MG), sertraline (SG), tianeptine (TG), meperidine+sertraline (MSG), meperidine+tianeptine (MTG), sertraline+tianeptine (STG), meperidine+sertraline+tianeptine (MSTG). Meperidine (20 mg/kg, 2×1) was injected intramuscularly. Sertraline (30 mg/kg, 1×1) and tianeptine (5 mg/kg, 1×1) were given orally. The HG received distilled water as solvent. Treatments continued for 20 days. Then, adult males were added to the rat groups and drug treatment continued for another five days. Blood samples were collected on day 26 for biochemical tests. RESULTS Total oxidant status (TOS) and total antioxidant status (TAS) were not statistically significant between groups (p>0.05). Meperidine (p<0.001) and sertraline (p<0.001) alone increased prolactin levels in comparison to HG and tianeptine inhibited the increase (p<0.001). While meperidine increased corticosterone levels versus HG (p<0.001), sertraline and tianeptine were close to HG (p>0.05). Number of infertile animals was 6 for meperidine, 3 for sertraline, and none for tianeptine. While the duration of pregnancy in MG (15 days) and SG (15 days) was longer compared to HG (2.86 days), no change was observed in TG (2.5 days). CONCLUSION Tianeptine and other serotonin re-uptake stimulants may be useful in the treatment of reproductive dysfunction and infertility due to serotonin re-uptake inhibitor treatment.

Abstract
Tianeptine is an antidepressant drug approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder in countries other than the US. It is classified as an atypical tricyclic antidepressant and has shown potential benefits in addressing anxiety and irritable bowel disease. However, it is important to note that tianeptine is not approved for any use by the United States Federal Drug Administration (FDA). Despite its lack of approval by the FDA, tianeptine has been distributed online and at small retail locations. The term "gas station drugs" refers to a wide range of substances typically available for purchase from gas stations, corner stores, bodegas, mini marts, smoke shops, and the Internet. These substances may be produced commercially by drug manufacturers or in clandestine laboratories to mimic the effects of more well-known illicit/controlled substances such as marijuana, cocaine, opioids, etc. Tianeptine has made its way to convenience stores and gas station shelves, branded as "Zaza" and "Tianna Red." It can also be obtained online from independent vendors without a prescription. Misuse of tianeptine can lead to euphoric, opioid-like highs with the potential for chronic users to develop dependence and tolerance. Overdose and use in suicide attempts have also been documented. This manuscript is a narrative review, highlighting the dangers of tianeptine and other gas station drugs and underscoring the urgent need to regulate these substances.

Abstract
Selective spectrofluorometric sensing is introduced for the analysis of non-steroidal anti-androgens, darolutamide, and thalidomide in pharmaceutical preparations and biofluids. An organic fluorophore, 2,4,8,10-tetramethylpyrido[2',3':3,4]pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine 2 was synthesized in our laboratories by new simple methods to act as a fluorescent reagent for the analysis of the studied drugs. Elemental and spectral analyses were performed to approve the fluorophore structure. The fluorophore possesses a fluorescence at λem 422 nm when excited at 328 nm. The interaction between the studied drugs and the fluorophore was found to be quenching. The quenching mechanisms were studied and interpreted through the Stern-Volmer relationship. Moreover, the Stern-Volmer constants were calculated for the quenching interactions of both drugs. The introduced method was validated for the estimation of darolutamide and thalidomide in dosage forms, plasma, and urine, offering good percentage recoveries.

Abstract
A new fluorescent sensor is introduced to analyze nucleoside analogue, trifluridine and tipiracil in tablets and biological fluids. The synthesized fluorophore exhibits good fluorescence at 446 nm after excitation at 257 nm. The interaction between the studied drugs and the reagent was a quenching effect. Different experimental parameters and the mechanism of quenching were discussed. The present method was utilized to analyze trifluridine and tipiracil raw materials and tablets over the concentration range of 20-1000 ng/mL and spiked biological fluids over the range of 30-1000 ng/mL. The method is selective, specific, and possesses good accuracy and high precision. The method is highly sensitive, with detection limits of 5.8 and 6.0 ng/mL for trifluridine and tipiracil, respectively, and quantitation limits of 17.7 and 18.1 ng/mL for trifluridine and tipiracil, respectively. In vivo analysis of trifluridine was achieved selectively and the mean pharmacokinetic parameters were studied.

Abstract
New fluorescent sensing of some nitric oxide donors, nitroglycerin and isosorbide dinitrate was developed in our laboratories. Two fluorescent reagents, 2-(2-hydroxyethylamino)-4,6-dimethylpyridine-3-carbonitrile, 3a and 2-(3-chloro-phenylamino)-4,6-dimethylpyridine-3-carbonitrile, 3b were synthesized in our laboratories and a comparative study was performed between them from the point of fluorescence intensity. The fluorophore, 3a, was selected for the analytical study as it exhibit higher quantum yield value. The interaction between the selected drugs and the fluorophore was noticed to be quenching. The mechanism of quenching was studied and it was supposed to be collisional quenching through photo induced electron transfer process. The proposed sensing method was applied successfully for the analysis of nitroglycerin and isosorbide dinitrate in dosage forms within concentration range of (0.05-0.5 µg/mL) with percentage recoveries of 99.9 ± 0.5 and 99.9 ± 0.7 respectively. The studied drugs, nitroglycerin and isosorbide dinitrate, were also probed in spiked biological matrices such as plasma samples with percentage recoveries of 99.1 ± 1.97 and 100.7 ± 1.96 and urine samples with percentage recoveries of 100.4 ± 1.8 and 100.3 ± 1.7 respectively. In vivo analysis of both drugs in real plasma was also investigated. The sensing method exhibit well intra-day and inter day precision with %RSD < 2%.
