Abstract
Given the extensive need for the detection of hydrazine (N2H4) in the biomedical and chemical-pharmaceutical sectors, there is a necessity to devise a fast, sensitive, specific, and portable technique for precisely quantifying hydrazine at environmental levels. In our work, an "OFF-ON" type fluorescent probe namely 2-(4-(10-(naphthalen-2-yl)anthracen-9-yl)phenyl)isoindole-1,3-dione (NAP), which was inspired by the "Gabriel" reaction, was synthesized. The NAP fluorescent cellulose film successfully achieved the detection of hydrazine vapor with a LOD = 0.658 ppm. Compared to previous qualitative methods for detecting hydrazine, this study successfully achieved quantitative identification of hydrazine at low concentrations. In addition, a portable sensor device based on NAP cellulose film was successfully integrated, enabling ultra-sensitive, wireless, remote, and real-time detection of N2H4 vapor. It was determined that the probe (NAP) exhibited excellent detection performance when applied to various environmental samples including distilled water, tap water, creek water, soil and plants. This study introduces a potentially effective approach for detecting hydrazine in real-world settings.

Abstract
Fluorescent and colourimetric probes for small analytes (cations, anions and neutral molecules) have drawn significant attention in recent years. These probes interact with analytes and induce spectral change due to the variations in the photo-physical properties of the fluorophore/chromophore used. Among several photo-physical mechanisms, ESIPT (excited state intramolecular proton transfer) based probes are more advantageous due to their photo-physical properties viz. solvent polarity effect, large spectral shift with multi-channel fluorescence, high quantum yield etc. In recent years, ESIPT-based probes have shown several promising applications, especially monitoring small analytes in biological samples, smartphone app-assisted heavy metal detection in environmental samples, inkless writing, anti-counterfeiting applications etc. Therefore, this review is dedicated to recently reported ESIPT-based probes for small analytes. We have highlighted the organic units responsible for the ESIPT mechanism, their photo-physical parameters, selectivity and sensitivity properties and recent advances in their applications.

Abstract
Hydrazine (N2H4), an important chemical intermediate, has been widely used in industrial production and agricultural life, but it has also caused environmental pollution. A novel ESIPT-based fluorescent probe with dual recognition sites, 2-(benzothiazole-2-yl)-1,4-imphenyl bis 4-bromobutyric acid (BRBA), was developed to selectively detect N2H4 under complex conditions. BRBA exhibits accurate detection for N2H4 with a good linear relationship ranging from 0 to 150 μM, and the LOD can reach 0.1 μM. Importantly, taking advantage of low cytotoxicity and a large Stokes shift, BRBA can be utilized to monitor environmental water samples and successfully applied to imaging HeLa cells and zebrafish.

Abstract
In this paper, the SQDs@MnO2 NS as the probe was applied to construct a novel “turn-on” fluorescent sensor for sensitive and selective detection of hydrazine (N2H4). Sulfur quantum dots (SQDs) and MnO2 nanosheets (MnO2 NS) were simply mixed, through the process of adsorption to prepare the architectures of SQDs@MnO2 NS. The fluorescent emissions of SQDs@MnO2 NS play a key role to indicate the state of the sensor. According to the inner filter effect (IFE) mechanism, the state of the sensor at the “off” position, or low emission, under the presence of MnO2 NS, is which the ultraviolet and visible spectrum overlaps with the fluorescence emission spectrum of SQDs. Under the optimal conditions, the emission was gradually recovered with the addition of the N2H4, since the N2H4 as a strong reductant could make the MnO2 NS converted into Mn2+, the state of the sensor at the “on”. Meanwhile, the fluorescent sensor possesses good selectivity and high sensitivity, and the detection concentration of N2H4 with a wide range from 0.1 µM to 10 mM with a detection limit of 0.072 µM. Furthermore, actual samples were successful in detecting certain implications, indicating that the fluorescent sensor possesses the potential application ability to monitor the N2H4 in the water.
