Abstract
A promising and sought-after class of nanozymes for various applications is Pt-containing nanozymes, primarily Au@Pt, due to their easy preparation and remarkable catalytic properties. This study aimed to explore the freeze-thaw method for functionalizing Pt-containing nanozymes with oligonucleotides featuring a polyadenine anchor. Spherical gold nanoparticles ([Au]NPs) were synthesized and subsequently used as seeds to produce urchin-like Au@Pt nanoparticles ([Au@Pt]NPs) with an average diameter of 29.8 nm. The nanoparticles were conjugated with a series of non-thiolated DNA oligonucleotides, each consisting of three parts: a 5'-polyadenine anchor (An, with n = 3, 5, 7, 10; triple-branched A3, or triple-branched A5), a random sequence of 23 nucleotides, and a linear polyT block consisting of seven deoxythymine residues. The resulting conjugates were characterized using transmission electron microscopy, spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering, and emission detection of the fluorescent label at the 3'-end of each oligonucleotide. The stability of the conjugates was found to depend on the type of oligonucleotide, with decreased stability in the row of [Au@Pt]NP conjugates with A7 > A5 > 3A3 > 3A5 > A10 > A3 anchors. These [Au@Pt]NP-oligonucleotide conjugates were further evaluated using lateral flow test strips to assess fluorescein-specific binding and peroxidase-like catalytic activity. Conjugates with A3, A5, A7, and 3A3 anchors showed the highest levels of signals of bound labels on test strips, exceeding conjugates in sensitivity by up to nine times. These findings hold significant potential for broad application in bioanalytical systems.

Abstract
Food and waterborne illnesses are still a major concern in health and food safety areas. Every year, almost 0.42 million and 2.2 million deaths related to food and waterborne illness are reported worldwide, respectively. In foodborne pathogens, bacteria such as Salmonella, Shiga-toxin producer Escherichia coli, Campylobacter, and Listeria monocytogenes are considered to be high-concern pathogens. High-concern waterborne pathogens are Vibrio cholerae, leptospirosis, Schistosoma mansoni, and Schistosima japonicum, among others. Despite the major efforts of food and water quality control to monitor the presence of these pathogens of concern in these kinds of sources, foodborne and waterborne illness occurrence is still high globally. For these reasons, the development of novel and faster pathogen-detection methods applicable to real-time surveillance strategies are required. Methods based on biosensor devices have emerged as novel tools for faster detection of food and water pathogens, in contrast to traditional methods that are usually time-consuming and are unsuitable for large-scale monitoring. Biosensor devices can be summarized as devices that use biochemical reactions with a biorecognition section (isolated enzymes, antibodies, tissues, genetic materials, or aptamers) to detect pathogens. In most cases, biosensors are based on the correlation of electrical, thermal, or optical signals in the presence of pathogen biomarkers. The application of nano and molecular technologies allows the identification of pathogens in a faster and high-sensibility manner, at extremely low-pathogen concentrations. In fact, the integration of gold, silver, iron, and magnetic nanoparticles (NP) in biosensors has demonstrated an improvement in their detection functionality. The present review summarizes the principal application of nanomaterials and biosensor-based devices for the detection of pathogens in food and water samples. Additionally, it highlights the improvement of biosensor devices through nanomaterials. Nanomaterials offer unique advantages for pathogen detection. The nanoscale and high specific surface area allows for more effective interaction with pathogenic agents, enhancing the sensitivity and selectivity of the biosensors. Finally, biosensors' capability to functionalize with specific molecules such as antibodies or nucleic acids facilitates the specific detection of the target pathogens.

Abstract
DNA walkers, artificial dynamic DNA nanomachines, can mimic actin to move rapidly along a predefined nucleic acid track. They can generally be classified as one- (1D), two- (2D), and three-dimensional (3D) DNA walkers. In particular, 3D DNA walkers demonstrate amazing sustainable walking ability, strong enrichment ability, and fantastic signal amplification ability. In light of these, 3D DNA walkers have been widely used in fields such as biosensors, bioanalysis and cell imaging. Most notably, the strong compatibility of 3D DNA walkers allows their integration with a range of amplification strategies, effectively enhancing signal transduction and amplifying biosensor sensing signals. Herein, we first systematically expound the walking principle of the 3D walkers in this review. Then, by presenting representative examples, the research direction of 3D walkers in recent years is discussed. Furthermore, we also categorize and evaluate diverse tandem signal amplification strategies in 3D walkers. Finally, the challenges and development trends of 3D DNA walkers in the emerging field of analysis are carefully discussed. It is believed that this work can provide new ideas for researchers to quickly understand 3D DNA walkers and their applications in diverse biosensors.

Abstract
Bacterial infections have become a global public health problem. Rapid and sensitive bacterial detection is of great importance for human health. Among various sensor systems, fluorescence sensor is rapid, portable, multiplexed, and cost-efficient. Herein, we reviewed the current trends of fluorescent sensors for bacterial detection from three aspects (response materials, target and recognition way). The fluorescent materials have the advantages of high fluorescent strength, high stability, and good biocompatibility. They provide a new path for bacterial detection. Several recent fluorescent nanomaterials for bacterial detection, including semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), carbon dots (CDs), up-conversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) and metal organic frameworks (MOFs), were introduced. Their optical properties and detection mechanisms were analyzed and compared. For different response targets in the detection process, we studied the fluorescence strategy using DNA, bacteria, and metabolites as the response target. In addition, we classified the recognition way between nanomaterial and target, including specific recognition methods based on aptamers, antibodies, bacteriophages, and non-specific recognition methods based on biological functional materials. The characteristics of different recognition methods were summarized. Finally, the weaknesses and future development of bacterial fluorescence sensor were discussed. This review provides new insights into the application of fluorescent sensing systems as an important tool for bacterial detection.
