Abstract
G-quadruplexes (G4) have received significant attention in the field of aptasensors owing to their unique physicochemical characteristics. A dual-mode, protein-free and label-free aptamer sensor based on plasmonic colorimetry and G4 fluorescence (PC@GF-aptasensor) was proposed for ochratoxin A (OTA). Colorimetry mode was achieved through the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect, which related to the OTA-Apt-based G4-OTA. The fluorescence mode was reflected by the insertion of thioflavin T (ThT) into G4-OTA. The OTA could be interpreted via three readouts: (1) naked eye (LOD of 2.0 ng mL-1), (2) smartphone (LOD of 1.65 ng mL-1), and (3) spectrofluorometer (LOD of 0.93 ng mL-1). The PC@GF-aptasensor exhibited several advantages, such as a standardised recognition group, simplified operation, low background signal, and practicality. The proposed PC@GF-aptasensor integrated SPR-based multicolour interpretation and ThT-inserted fluorescence reflection to obtain a dual-mode optical biosensor, which may provide valuable insights for the development of other targets with G4-based aptamers.

Abstract
With the rapid development of society, food safety to public health has been a topic that cannot be ignored. In recent years, lanthanide-based materials are studied to be potential candidates in the detection of food samples. Cerium (Ce)-based materials (such as Ce ions, CeO2, Ce-metal organic framework (Ce-MOF), etc.) have also attracted more attention in food detection by virtue of colorimetric, fluorescence, sensing, and other methods. This is because the mixed valence of Ce (Ce3+ and Ce4+), the formation of oxygen vacancies, and their optical and electrochemical properties. In this review, Ce-based materials will be introduced and discussed in the field of food detection, including biogenesis, construction, catalytic mechanisms, combination, and applications. In addition, the current challenges and future development trend of these Ce-based materials in food safety detection are also proposed and discussed. Therefore, it is meaningful to explore the Ce-based materials for detection of biomarkers in food samples.

Abstract
Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a mycotoxin secreted by Fusarium species, posing great harm to food safety and human health. Therefore, it is of great significance to study its toxic effects and mechanism. miR-34a is a representative biomarker during the process of DON-induced apoptosis. Herein, a DON-triggered dual-color composite probe was constructed for simultaneous imaging of DON and miR-34a in living cells. The aptamer blocks the recognition sequence of miR-34a to realize DON-triggered cell imaging. The specific binding of DON with its aptamer and HCR induced by miR-34a resulted in the recovery of fluorescence of the dual-color Au NCs. Under the optimal conditions, the correlation between the relative fluorescence intensities of dual-color Au NCs showed good linear relationships with the logarithm of DON and miR-34a concentration, respectively. With the increase in DON concentration (0-20 μg/mL) and stimulation time (0-12 h), the fluorescence of dual-color Au NCs gradually recovered. This dual-color Au NCs composite probe can realize simultaneous detection of DON and miR-34a induced by DON, which is significant for verifying the cytotoxic mechanism of DON.

Abstract
To prevent the contamination of cereals by mycotoxins, establishing a sensitive and rapid method for the detection of mycotoxins is essential. In this study, a screening-capture-integrated electrochemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensor based on mesoporous silica films (MSFs) was successfully prepared for the ultrasensitive and highly selective detection of deoxynivalenol (DON) in wheat. The narrow nanochannels of MSFs can realize size screening, thereby eliminating the influence of macromolecular substances and providing a pure environment for the signal probe (tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) (Ru(bpy)32+)) to reach the indium tin oxide (ITO) conductive substrate, which significantly improves the anti-interference ability of the screening-capture-integrated ECL sensor. The aptamer (Apt) attached to the surface of the MSFs can specifically capture DON, and the resulting DON-Apt complex has a gated effect on the MSFs, triggering the inhibition of Ru(bpy)32+ in the electrolyte from reaching the ITO surface. Therefore, the ECL intensity of the sensor decreased with increasing DON concentration to achieve a quantitative detection of DON. Under optimized conditions, the linear range of the screening-capture-integrated ECL aptasensor was 0.001-200 μg/kg, and the detection limit was as low as 5.27 × 10-5 μg/kg (S/N = 3). In conclusion, this study developed a screening-capture-integrated ECL aptasensor that combines size screening and specific capture for the detection of DON in wheat, providing a new approach for the early detection of wheat mildew.
