Abstract
To accurately determine flavonoids (rutin, quercetin or kaempferol), it is necessary to extract them from complex matrices. The ultrasound-assisted magnetic dispersion microsolid phase extraction technique has been predominantly used for separation and enrichment of the target analytes. The combination of magnetic chitosan nanoparticles and a deep eutectic supramolecular solvent (DESP) is likely to enhance the efficiency of flavonoid extraction from food. In this study, adsorbents were prepared by modifying chitosan with magnetic nanoparticles, and the eluent was a DESP derived from β-cyclodextrin and an organic acid. The successful preparation of these materials was confirmed by FTIR, XRD, FE-SEM and 1H NMR. The extraction recovery rates exceeded 93 %, with limits of detection and quantitation ranging from 0.9 to 2.4 μg/L and 2.7 to 7.2 μg/L, respectively, and the flavonoid clearance rates for ABTS and DPPH radicals reached 100 %. Therefore, the integration of magnetic chitosan nanoparticles with the DESP provides a new and efficient method for the extraction of flavonoids while also presenting a potential application of the DESP in separations.

Abstract
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) are a relatively new type of solvent that have attracted the attention of the scientific community due to their environmentally friendly properties and their versatility in many applications. Many possible DESs have been described and, thus, it is not easy to unequivocally characterize and generalize their properties. This is especially important in the case of the (eco)toxicity information that can be found for these mixtures. In this review, we collect data on the human and environmental toxicity of DESs, with the aim of gathering and exploring the behavioral patterns of DESs. The toxicity data found were analyzed attending to different factors: hydrogen bond donors or acceptors that form part of the eutectic mixture, pH, and the presence of organic acids in the DES molar ratio of the components, or interactions with natural compounds. In the case of ecotoxicity, results generally depend on the biomodel studied, along with other factors that have been also revised. Finally, we also carried out a revision of the biodegradation of DESs.

Abstract
The excess chemical potential of thiophene in imidazolium-based ionic liquids [C4mim][BF4], [C4mim][Cl], [C4mim][Br], and [C4mim][CH3COO] were determined by means of molecular dynamics in conjunction with free energy perturbation techniques employing non-polarizable force fields at 300 K and 343.15 K. In addition, energetic and structural analysis were performed such as: interaction energies, averaged noncovalent interactions, radial, and combined distribution functions. The results from this work revealed that the ionic liquids (ILs) presenting the most favorable excess chemical potentials ([C4mim][BF4], [C4mim][CH3COO]) are associated with the strongest energetic interaction between the thiophene molecule and the ionic liquid anion, and with the weakest energetic interaction between the thiophene molecule and the ionic liquid cation. Excess chemical potential of thiophene in imidazolium-based ionic liquids [C4mim][BF4], [C4mim][Cl], [C4mim][Br], and [C4mim][CH3COO] determined by molecular simulations.![]()
