Abstract
The current membrane materials used for oil-water separation suffer from low separation efficiency and poor durability, and membrane contamination is also a key issue that must be addressed urgently. In this paper, a superhydrophilic PANI/Ag/TA@PVDF composite membrane with PANI-Ag NPs heterojunction structure was prepared via chelation and reduction of Ag+ by tannic acid (TA) and in situ growth of hydrochloric acid-doped polyaniline (PANI). TA endows the prepared composite membrane with excellent superhydrophilicity and underwater oleophobicity, remarkable oil-water separation capacity (the separation efficiency of more than 97% for soybean oil), and extraordinary antifouling properties. Notably, the range of photodegradation is expanded from UV to visible light by the construction of a Schottky heterostructure between PANI and Ag NPs, the photocatalytic degradation ability of composite membrane for organic pollutants has been improved obviously, and the degradation efficiency for crystal violet (CV) is 97.9%. Considering these merits, the PANI/Ag/TA@PVDF composite membrane provides an effective strategy to overcome the shortcomings of existing membrane materials, presenting enormous potential in the treatment and purification of oily wastewater.

Abstract
Photo-Fenton coupled with membrane (photo-Fenton-membrane) technology offers great potential benefits in future wastewater treatment because it can not only degrade refractory organics, but also separate different pollutants from water; additionally, it often has a membrane-self-cleaning ability. In this review, three key factors of photo-Fenton-membrane technology, photo-Fenton catalysts, membrane materials and reactor configuration, are presented. Fe-based photo-Fenton catalysts include zero-valent iron, iron oxides, Fe-metal oxides composites and Fe-based metal-organic frameworks. Non-Fe-based photo-Fenton catalysts are related to other metallic compounds and carbon-based materials. Polymeric and ceramic membranes used in photo-Fenton-membrane technology are discussed. Additionally, two kinds of reactor configurations, immobilized reactor and suspension reactor, are introduced. Moreover, we summarize the applications of photo-Fenton-membrane technology in wastewater, such as separation and degradation of pollutants, removal of Cr(VI) and disinfection. In the last section, the future prospects of photo-Fenton-membrane technology are discussed.

Abstract
Plant polyphenol-inspired surface modification of membranes is helpful for oil-water separation. However, the preparation of this coating is time-consuming. Herein, we introduce a rapid synthesis of the TA-APTES coating by the addition of sodium periodate (SP). The surface chemical composition and morphology of the resultant TA-APTES hybrid coatings were characterized using SEM, ATR-FTIR, and XPS. The hydrophilicity and membrane performance were investigated by the water contact angle, pure water permeability, and oil rejection for an isooctane-in-water emulsion. The experimental findings revealed that the optimal microfiltration (MF) membrane (MF-TA-APTES-SP-0.05) displayed exceptional hydrophilicity and water permeability (9558 L m-2 h-1 bar-1). The membrane realized highly efficient separation with a permeability (4117 L m-2 h-1 bar-1) and rejection of oils (>99%). Furthermore, it possessed outstanding chemical stability and maintained underwater superoleophobicity even after exposure to harsh conditions. This simple and rapid strategy of developing hydrophilic coatings as a modifier for the poly(vinylidene fluoride) membranes has potential applications in oil-water separation and wastewater treatment.
