Abstract
The design and development of affinity polymeric materials through the use of green technology, such as supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2), is a rapidly evolving field of research with vast applications across diverse areas, including analytical chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biomedicine, energy, food, and environmental remediation. These affinity polymeric materials are specifically engineered to interact with target molecules, demonstrating high affinity and selectivity. The unique properties of scCO2, which present both liquid- and gas-like properties and an accessible critical point, offer an environmentally-friendly and highly efficient technology for the synthesis and processing of polymers. The design and the synthesis of affinity polymeric materials in scCO2 involve several strategies. Commonly, the incorporation of functional groups or ligands into the polymer matrix allows for selective interactions with target compounds. The choice of monomer type, ligands, and synthesis conditions are key parameters of material performance in terms of both affinity and selectivity. In addition, molecular imprinting allied with co-polymerization and surface modification are commonly used in these strategies, enhancing the materials' performance and versatility. This review aims to provide an overview of the key strategies and recent advancements in the design of affinity polymeric materials using scCO2.

Abstract
Particle size, shape and morphology can be considered as the most significant functional parameters, their effects on increasing the performance of oral solid dosage formulation are indisputable. Supercritical Carbon dioxide fluid (SCCO2) technology is an effective approach to control the above-mentioned parameters in oral solid dosage formulation. In this study, drug solubility measuring is investigated based on artificial intelligence model using carbon dioxide as a common supercritical solvent, at different pressure and temperature, 120-400 bar, 308-338 K. The results indicate that pressure has a strong effect on drug solubility. In this investigation, Decision Tree (DT), Adaptive Boosted Decision Trees (ADA-DT), and Nu-SVR regression models are used for the first time as a novel model on the available data, which have two inputs, including pressure, X1 = P(bar) and temperature, X2 = T(K). Also, output is Y = solubility. With an R-squared score, DT, ADA-DT, and Nu-SVR showed results of 0.836, 0.921, and 0.813. Also, in terms of MAE, they showed error rates of 4.30E-06, 1.95E-06, and 3.45E-06. Another metric is RMSE, in which DT, ADA-DT, and Nu-SVR showed error rates of 4.96E-06, 2.34E-06, and 5.26E-06, respectively. Due to the analysis outputs, ADA-DT selected as the best and novel model and the find optimal outputs can be shown via vector: (x1 = 309, x2 = 317.39, Y1 = 7.03e-05).

Experimental solubility and thermodynamic modeling of empagliflozin in supercritical carbon dioxide. Sci Rep 2022; 12:9008. Abstract
The solubility of empagliflozin in supercritical carbon dioxide was measured at temperatures (308 to 338 K) and pressures (12 to 27 MPa), for the first time. The measured solubility in terms of mole faction ranged from 5.14 × 10–6 to 25.9 × 10–6. The cross over region was observed at 16.5 MPa. A new solubility model was derived to correlate the solubility data using solid–liquid equilibrium criteria combined with Wilson activity coefficient model at infinite dilution for the activity coefficient. The proposed model correlated the data with average absolute relative deviation (AARD) and Akaike’s information criterion (AICc), 7.22% and − 637.24, respectively. Further, the measured data was also correlated with 11 existing (three, five and six parameters empirical and semi-empirical) models and also with Redlich-Kwong equation of state (RKEoS) along with Kwak-Mansoori mixing rules (KMmr) model. Among density-based models, Bian et al., model was the best and corresponding AARD% was calculated 5.1. The RKEoS + KMmr was observed to correlate the data with 8.07% (correspond AICc is − 635.79). Finally, total, sublimation and solvation enthalpies of empagliflozin were calculated.

Abstract
The solubilities of clemastine fumarate in supercritical carbon dioxide (ScCO2) were measured for the first time at temperature (308 to 338 K) and pressure (12 to 27 MPa). The measured solubilities were reported in terms of mole faction (mol/mol total) and it had a range from 1.61 × 10–6 to 9.41 × 10–6. Various models were used to correlate the data. The efficacy of the models was quantified with corrected Akaike’s information criterion (AICc). A new cluster salvation model was derived to correlate the solubility data. The new model was able to correlate the data and deviation was 10.3% in terms of average absolute relative deviation (AARD). Furthermore, the measured solubilities were also correlated with existing K.-W. Chen et al., model, equation of state model and a few other density models. Among density models, Reddy and Garlapati model was observed to be the best model and corresponding AARD was 7.57% (corresponding AICc was − 678.88). The temperature independent Peng–Robinson equation of state was able to correlate the data and AARD was 8.25% (corresponding AICc was − 674.88). Thermodynamic parameters like heats of reaction, sublimation and solvation of clemastine fumarate were calculated and reported.

Abstract
In this work, a film-forming coating for natural semi-finished pork meat has been developed, which has barrier properties against microbial flora and free oxygen radicals. Polysaccharides such as agar, gelatin, cornstarch, and citrus pectin were used as components of a film-forming coating, as well as CO2-extracts of parsley and ginger. It has been found that the most effective is a coating with the following composition: agar – 0.25%, citrus pectin – 0.5%, citric acid – 0.5%, CO2-extract of parsley or CO2-extract of ginger – 0.1%. This coating prolongs the shelf life of natural semi-finished pork meat at a storage temperature (–1…+1)°С for 2 days compared with the traditional technology.Studying the effect of the film-forming coating developed on the organoleptic properties of meat has shown that on the 7th day of storage at a temperature (–1…+1)°С, there were no signs of spoilage like putrid smell, greenish stain, and sliminess that were observed in the samples without coating. The study of the effect of the coating on the microbiological parameters of the meat has shown that the best microbiologcal stability that does not exceed the allowable values after 7 days of storage at a storage temperature (–1…+1)°C is that of the sample covered with the film-forming coating with a CO2-extract of parsley. The study of the effect of the film-forming coating on the physical and chemical properties of meat has shown that peroxide number of its fat content is lower by 0.007% of iodine, and the acid number of its fat content is 0.39 mg KOH/kg of fat lower compared to the values of these parameters in the meat samples without coating. Besides, during storage, the mass loss in the meat samples covered with the coating developed was about 6 % less, thus reducing drying loss.

Abstract
In recent decades, a microscopic understanding of solute-solvent intermolecular interactions has been key to advances in technologies based on supercritical carbon dioxide. In many cases, computational work has provided the impetus for new discoveries, shedding new light on important concepts such as the local structure around the solute in the supercritical medium, the influence of the peculiar properties of the latter on the molecular behavior of dissolved substances and, importantly, CO2 -philicity. In this Review, the theoretical work that has been relevant to these developments is surveyed and, by presenting some crucial open questions, the possible routes to achieving further progress based on the interplay between theory and experiments is discussed.
