Abstract
A high-performance imipramine (IMPR) sensor has been developed based on metal chalcogenide-carbon composite materials. The antimony telluride-graphite nanofiber (Sb2Te3-GNF, hereafter SBT-GNF) composite was synthesized by the hydrothermal method and confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) pattern. The morphology, crystalline lattice, and chemical states were characterized by HRTEM, SAED, and XPS analysis. The characterizations confirmed the formation of an effective composite, SBT-GNF. The SBT-GNF was fabricated as a disposable sensor electrode with a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) and examined for the detection of IMPR by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The electroanalytical results of SBT-GNF are compared with the SBT and GNF, and the rational design of effective composite is discussed. SBT-GNF/SPCE showed a good linear range (0.01‑51.8 μM), sensitivity (1.35 ± 0.1 μA μM-1 cm-2), and low LOD (4 ± 2 nM). Moreover, the SBT-GNF/SPCE revealed high selectivity and high tolerance limit against potential interfering compounds in blood serum and urine samples. Therefore, this electrochemical sensor can be applicable for the detection of tricyclic antidepressant drug IMPR in clinical and pharmaceutical analysis.

Abstract
A novel molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-electrochemiluminescence (MIP-ECL) sensor based on CeO2NP-RGO/Ru(bpy)32+-MIP-chitosan was introduced for the ultrasensitive and ultraselective detection of trimipramine (TRI). TRI-MIP was synthesized via the precipitation polymerization process. A nanocomposite of reduced graphene oxide decorated with ceria (CeO2NP-RGO) was synthesized through a facile sonochemical process. CeO2NP-RGO was utilized for modifying the surface of an electrode which consequently led to an excellent electrical conductivity, enhanced electrochemical and ECL characteristics of Ru(bpy)32+. Electrochemical and ECL behaviors of the MIP-ECL sensor were evaluated. Accordingly, the ECL intensity was significantly enhanced via TRI molecule adsorption on the MIP composite film. The prepared MIP-ECL sensor demonstrated high sensitivity and selectivity as well as good reproducibility and stability for TRI determination under the applied optimal conditions. The assays response for TRI concentration was linear in the range of 0.2-100 pM with a 0.995 correlation coefficient. The limit of detection (LOD) was as small as 0.025 pM (S/N = 3). The recoveries between 91-107% for human serum (RSDs < 4.1%) and 94-104.6% for human urine (RSDs < 3.4%) approve that the MIP-ECL sensor can be used for precise detection of TRI in complex biological matrices. Ultimately, this sensor was utilized successfully for the analysis of TRI in human serum and urine samples without any special pretreatment.

Abstract
This work described the sonohydrolysis of Bi(NO3)3 into Bi2O3 and simultaneous sonochemical exfoliation of graphite into graphene sheets in the alkaline environment and its electocatalytic performance towards the detection of anti-depression drug imipramine (IMPR). The ultrasound (37/80 kHz; 60 W) effectively hydrolyzed the Bi(NO3)3 into a single crystalline monoclinic phase of Bi2O3 nanotiles in the alkaline condition. And also, the sonochemical reaction condition can trigger the lamellar particles on the graphite bulk surface and allowed to exfoliated the graphite (EG) into graphene nanosheets as well. The material characterizations are done by XRD, Raman, FESEM, and HRTEM. It shows the α-Bi2O3 nanotiles along with EG nanosheets with high crystallinity and low defects. The (0 0 2) plane in XRD confirms the high crystalline nature of EG. The monoclinic stretching vibrations (90-600 cm-1) confirms the Raman modes of Bi2O3. The prepared Bi2O3-EG composites are subjected to the electrochemical determination of IMPR which revealed appreciable analytical performances. The results showed that the Bi2O3-EG exhibits better results in the 3 h sonication process. Bi2O3-EG-3 exhibited a good linear range (0.02-82.3 µM) and an acceptable limit of detection (6 nM). And also Bi2O3-EG-3 exhibits the significant tolerance limit when compared to other potential interfering compounds.

Abstract

Tricyclic Antidepressants (TCAs) are a group of the main category of antidepressant drugs,
which are commonly prescribed to treat major depressive disorder. Determination of TCA drugs is
very important for clinical and forensic toxicology, especially for therapeutic drug monitoring in various
biofluids. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is a well-established technique for
this purpose. A lot of progress has been made in this field since the past 10 years. Novel extraction
techniques, and novel materials for sample preparation, novel columns and novel applications of analysis
of various biofluids for the determination of TCAs in combination with other drugs are some typical
examples. Moreover, advances have been performed in terms of Green Analytical Chemistry principles.
Herein, we aim to discuss the developed HPLC methods that were reported in the literature for
the time span of 2008-2018.

Abstract
A novel, sensitive, rapid, and simple fluorescent probe has been developed based on green-synthesized carbon dots (CDs). In this work, CDs have been synthesized from valerian root by hydrothermal method. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) results confirm the formation of CDs with sizes of less than 10 nm. Fluorescence quenching of CDs was due to the aggregation of the negative charges of CDs with the positive charge of imipramine (IMI) and was then used as the signal for determination of IMI. In addition, the cytotoxicity of CDs was determined using the MTT assay. The probe responses under optimum conditions were linear in the range of 1.0-200.0 ng mL-1 with a limit of detection of 0.6 ng mL-1. Afterwards, mesoporous boehmite (MB) was modified with synthesized CDs (CDs/MB). TEM images confirmed MB modification with CDs. In this case, the variations in the fluorescence signal for different concentrations of IMI increased leading to the higher sensitivity for IMI detection. The limit of detection and linear range for determination of IMI with CDs/MB were obtained as 0.2 and 0.5-200.0 ng mL-1, respectively. To evaluate the fluorescent probe, IMI was measured in real samples. Graphical abstract.

Abstract
Depression is a common mental disorder that may lead to major mental health problems, and antidepressant drugs have been used as a treatment of choice to mitigate symptoms of major depressive disorders by ameliorating the chemical imbalances of neurotransmitters in brain. Since abusing antidepressant drugs such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressant drugs can cause severe adverse effects, continuous toxicological monitoring of the parent compounds as well as their metabolites using numerous analytical methods appears pertinent. Among them, capillary electrophoresis has been popularly utilized since the method has a lot of advantages viz. using small amounts of sample and solvents, ease of operation, and rapid analysis. This review paper brings a survey of more than 30 papers on capillary electrophoresis of antidepressant drugs published approximately from 1999 until 2018. It focuses on the reported capillary electrophoresis techniques and their applications and challenges for determining antidepressant drugs and their metabolites. It is organized according to the commonly used capillary zone electrophoresis method, followed by non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis and micellar electrokinetic chromatography, with details on breakthrough findings. Where available, information is given about the background electrolyte used, detector utilized, and sensitivity obtained.

Abstract
This paper reviews the latest developments and analytical applications of chemiluminescence detection coupled to capillary electrophoresis (CE-CL). Different sections considering the most common CL systems have been included, such as the tris(2,2'-bipyridine)ruthenium(II) system, the luminol and acridinium derivative reactions, the peroxyoxalate CL or direct oxidations. Improvements in instrumental designs, new strategies for improving both resolution and sensitivity, and applications in different fields such as clinical, pharmaceutical, environmental and food analysis have been included. This review covers the literature from 2010 to 2015.

Abstract
A novel sensitive method based on tertiary amine labeling for the analysis of gibberellins (GAs) by capillary electrophoresis (CE) coupled with electrochemiluminescence (ECL) detection was proposed. GA3 was tagged with 2-(2-aminoethyl)-1-methylpyrrolidine (AEMP) using N, N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) and 3,4-dihydro-3-hydroxy-4-oxo-1,2,3-benzotriazine (HOOBt) as coupling agents in acetonitrile to produce GA3-AEMP-derivative. The GA3-AEMP-derivative was injected into CE by electrokinetic injection and detected by Ru(bpy)3(2+)-based ECL. The parameters affecting derivatization, detection and separation such as concentration of reactants, detection potential, pH and concentration of separation buffer, were investigated in detail. Under optimum conditions, the linear concentration range for GA3 was from 2.0×10(-7) to 1.28×10(-4)M with a correlation coefficient of 0.9997. The detection limit was 8×10(-8)M (S/N=3). The relative standard deviations of migration time, peak intensity and peak area for nine continuous injections of 2.0×10(-5)M GA3-AEMP-derivative were 1.0%, 2.1% and 4.2%, respectively. The developed approach was successfully applied to the determination of total GAs in the stem, leaf and seed of soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.) with recoveries in the range from 89.6% to 99.3%.

Abstract
Based on the phenomenon that each of chlorpromazine (CPZ), promethazine (PMZ), chlorpromazine sulfoxide (CPZSO) and promethazine sulfoxide (PMZSO) could enhance the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) intensity of tris(2,2'-bipyridyl) ruthenium, a novel and sensitive method was proposed for the simultaneous determination of CPZ, PMZ and their main metabolites using capillary electrophoresis (CE) coupled with ECL detection. The influences of several experimental parameters were explored. The optimum experimental conditions were as follows: detection potential of 1. 20 V (Ag/AgCl), 40 mmol/L of phosphate buffer solution (pH 6.5) containing 5 mmol/L tris(2,2'-bipyridyl) ruthenium in ECL detection cell, running buffer solution of 18 mmol/L (pH 4.8), sample injection of 8 s at 11 kV, and separation voltage of 13.5 kV. The detection limits (3sigma) of this method were 8.3 x 10(-7) g/L for CPZ, 7.2 x 10(-6) g/L for PMZ, 1.9 x 10(-5) g/L for CPZSO and 3.7 x 10(-6) g/L for PMZSO. The linear ranges of ECL intensity versus mass concentration of medicaments were 7. 1 x 10(-6) - 6. 3 x 10(-3) g/L for CPZ, 7.5 x 10(-5) - 4.6 x 10(-3) g/L for PMZ, 9.7 x 10(-5) - 3.6 x 10(-3) g/L for CPZSO and 8.1 x 10(-5) - 7.7 x 10(-3) g/L for PMZSO. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of the four target compounds were not more than 3% for ECL intensity and 1% for migration time. This method has the merits of simplicity, speediness, sensitivity, small sample injection, and free from interference. This method was successfully utilized to directly and simultaneously detect CPZ, PMZ, CPZSO and PMZSO in urine samples of pet dogs.
