Abstract
A new polyoleic acid-polystyrene (PoleS) block/graft copolymer was synthesized and applied as adsorbent for ultrasound assisted dispersive solid phase microextraction (UA-DSPME) of Sb(III) in different bottled beverages and analysis using hydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (HGAAS). Adsorption capacity of the PoleS was 150 mg g-1. Several sample preparation parameters such as sorbent amount, solvent type, pH, sample volume and shaking time were optimized (based on central composite design (CCD) approach) and evaluated in respect to the recovery of Sb(III). The method revealed a high tolerance limit of matrix ions presence. Under optimized conditions, linearity range, the limit of detection, the limit of quantitation, extraction recovery, enhancement factor, preconcentration factor were 5-800 ng L-1, 1.5 ng L-1, 5.0 ng L-1, 96%, 82, 90, respectively. Accuracy of the UA-DSPME method was confirmed based on different certified reference materials and standard addition method. Factorial design was utilized to estimate the influences of variables of recovery of Sb(III).

Abstract
Selenium (Se) is considered to be an essential trace element needed for all living organisms. The importance, deficiency, and toxic effects of Se mainly depend on its quantity and chemical nature. It has been observed that the inorganic versions of Se are more hazardous than the organic versions. This review is mainly focused on the application of different extraction methods used for Se extraction and determination such as microextraction, solid-phase extraction (SPE), and their modified modes in the last 12 years. The use of different dispersive medium (magnetic field, ultrasonic radiation, and vortex agitator) to enhance Se separation is also part of this review. The usage of environmentally friendly solvents such as supramolecular solvents, hydrophobic deep eutectic solvents (DESs), and ionic liquids (ILs) are also the focus of attention in this review. This review is also emphasized the application of advanced microextraction methods, particularly liquid-phase microextraction (LPME). The most recent advances in LPME extraction techniques for Se in various environmental samples, as well as their prospects, are reviewed. Additionally, a summary of cheap, simple, and accurate techniques that have not yet been used to determine small amounts of Se has been provided.

Abstract
Selenium is a trace element essential for the proper functioning of human body. Since it can only be obtained through our diet, knowing its concentrations in different food products is of particular importance. The measurement of selenium content in complex food matrices has traditionally been a challenge due to the very low concentrations involved. Some of the difficulties may arise from the abundance of various compounds, which are additionally present in examined material at different concentration levels. The solution to this problem is the efficient separation/preconcentration of selenium from the analyzed matrix, followed by its reliable quantification. This review offers an insight into cloud point extraction, a separation technique that is often used in conjunction with spectrometric analysis. The method allows for collecting information on selenium levels in waters of different complexity (drinking water, river and lake waters), beverages (wine, juices), and a broad range of food (cereals, legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables, tea, mushrooms, nuts, etc.).

Abstract
Speciation of selenium (Se) is typically carried out using a sophisticated technique such as ICP-MS after preconcentration using an adsorbent; however, the separation and preconcentration of inorganic Se has not been realized in the solutions containing high concentrations of SO42-. A dithiocarbamate-modified cellulose (DMC) was used in this study for the selective extraction and preconcentration of inorganic Se in wastewater, with a portable liquid electrode plasma-optical emission spectrometry (LEP-OES) being employed for quantification. DMC was found to selectively and quantitatively adsorb selenite (SeIV) over a wide range of pH (1.0-8.0); however, less than 3.0% of selenate (SeVI) was adsorbed in a pH range of 3.0-11. Quantitative extraction of SeIV was achieved even in the presence of 3.5 mol L-1 SO42-. The maximum sample volume from which 10 mg of DMC could quantitatively extract SeIV was found to be 500 mL. KOH (0.60 mL, 1.5 mol L-1) was found to quantitatively desorb SeIV retained on the adsorbent and yielded an enrichment factor of 833. The recovery of Se species from synthetic flue-gas desulfurization wastewater containing SeIV and SeVI at concentrations of 5.0 µmol L-1 was 96.2 ± 1.8% and 105.8 ± 1.8%, respectively.

Abstract
A simple and green ultrasound liquid-liquid microextraction method based on low viscous hydrophobic deep eutectic solvent (ULLME-LV-HDES) was proposed for the preconcentration and separation of selenium prior to HG-AAS detection. Six different DESs were prepared for the extraction of selenium. Quercetin was used complexing agent for Se(IV) ions. Various analytical parameters such as pH, quercetin amount, DES type and its volume, sonication time, sample volume were optimized. Tolerance limits of anion, cation and transition metal ions were studied. Preconcentration and enhancement factor were found 62.5 and 121. Under the optimum conditions, limit of detection was found 0.25 ng L-1 with calibration range of 0.8-120 ng L-1. Relative standard deviation was found 3.2%. The accuracy of the method was confirmed with certified reference materials (NIST 1567a Wheat flour and NIST 1548a Typical diet). Finally, the developed method was successfully applied to food and water samples.

Abstract
In order to obtain a well understanding of the toxicity and ecological effects of trace elements in the environment, it is necessary to determine not only the total amount, but also their existing species. Speciation analysis has become increasingly important in making risk assessments of toxic elements since the toxicity and bioavailability strongly depend on their chemical forms. Effective separation of different species in combination with highly sensitive detectors to quantify these particular species is indispensable to meet this requirement. In this paper, we present the recent progresses on the speciation analysis of trace arsenic, mercury, selenium and antimony in environmental and biological samples with an emphasis on the separation and detection techniques, especially the recent applications of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) hyphenated to atomic spectrometry or mass spectrometry.

Abstract
Abstract
Dysprosium-titanate (Dy2TiO5), being highly refractory in nature, its dissolution using conventional (hot-plate and fusion) methods is very difficult. Hence, for quantitative dissolution, a microwave method has been developed. The instrumental parameters and amount of acids has been optimized. Studies have been carried out for precise and accurate estimation of major elements such as Dy, Ti, and Mo. An anion exchange column has been used to separate Mo, Dy and Ti. Analysis of these elements has been carried out using ICP-MS, UV-visible spectroscopy, and gravimetric methods. In the developed method, precipitation of molybdenum and dysprosium has been done using α-benzoine oxime, and oxalic acid respectively. These precipitates have been converted into their respective oxide form. The purities of these oxides (Dy2O3 and MoO3) have been determined using ICP-MS. The method has been validated using synthetic samples where it is found that accuracy of Dy and Mo is >99% and precision is <1 (%RSD). The titanium has been determined using UV-visible spectroscopy with accuracy >98% and precision <2 (%RSD).

Abstract
In aquatic ecosystems, there is often no correlation between the total concentration of selenium present in the water column and the toxic effects observed in that environment. This is due, in part, to the variation in the bioavailability of different selenium species to organisms at the base of the aquatic food chain. The first part of this review (Kumkrong et al., 2018) discusses regulatory framework and standard methodologies for selenium analysis in waters. In this second article, we are reviewing the state of speciation analysis and importance of speciation data for decision makers in industry and regulators. We look in detail at fractionation methods for speciation, including the popular selective sequential hydride generation. We examine advantages and limitations of these methods, in terms of achievable detection limits and interferences from other matrix species, as well as the potential to over- or under-estimate operationally-defined fractions based on the various conversion steps involved in fractionation processes. Additionally, we discuss methods of discrete speciation (through separation methods), their importance in analyzing individual selenium species, difficulties associated with their implementation, as well as ways to overcome these difficulties. We also provide a brief overview of biological treatment methods for the remediation of selenium-contaminated waters. We discuss the importance of selenium speciation in the application of these methods and their potential to actually increase the bioavailability of selenium despite decreasing its total waterborne concentration.

Abstract
A new sensitive method for antimony (III) determination by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) has been developed by using N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (BPHA) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([C4mim][PF6]) single drop microextraction. The single drop microextraction (SDMM) system is more competitive compared with other traditional extraction methods. Under the optimized conditions, the limit of detection (signal-to-noise ratio is 3) and the enrichment factor of antimony (III) are 0.01 μg·L-1 and 112, respectively. The relative standard deviation of the 0.5 μg·L-1 antimony (III) is 4.2% (n=6). The proposed method is rather sensitive to determinate trace antimony (III) in water.
