Abstract
Theophylline (THP) is an emerging drug for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease whose side effects can be greatly affected by caffeine-containing real foods. Because an overdose of this substance can cause respiratory and neurological damage, producing a fast and accurate analytical procedure is critical. Based on a cutting-edge hybrid nanocomposite, this study was used to construct an electrochemical sensor for the accurate detection of THP. Spectroscopy and morphological investigation supported the easy synthesis of tetragonal-LaVO4 (t-LV) nanopellets and LV@CNF hybrid nanocomposite. To detect THP, a highly dispersed LV@CNF nanocomposite was modified on a glassy carbon electrode as a sensing substrate. By amperometric technique, the sensor shows a wide linear range of 0.01-1070 μM, low limit of detection (2.63 nM), and sensitivity (0.228 μA μM-1 cm-2). Finally, the current technique was successfully used to identify THP in real food samples (chocolate, coffee and black tea).

Abstract
Phthalocyanines and porphyrazines as macrocyclic aza-analogues of well-known porphyrins were deposited on diverse carbon-based nanomaterials and investigated as sensing devices. The extended π-conjugated electron system of these macrocycles influences their ability to create stable hybrid systems with graphene or carbon nanotubes commonly based on π-π stacking interactions. During a 15-year period, the electrodes modified by deposition of these systems have been applied for the determination of diverse analytes, such as food pollutants, heavy metals, catecholamines, thiols, glucose, peroxides, some active pharmaceutical ingredients, and poisonous gases. These procedures have also taken place, on occasion, in the presence of various polymers, ionic liquids, and other moieties. In the review, studies are presented that were performed for sensing purposes, involving azaporphyrins embedded on graphene, graphene oxide or carbon nanotubes (both single and multi-walled ones). Moreover, possible methods of electrode fabrication, limits of detection of each analyte, as well as examples of macrocyclic compounds applied as sensing materials, are critically discussed.

Abstract
Dimethylamine borane (DMAB) is a promising fuel alternative for fuel cell applications. In this work cyclic voltammetric behavior of DMAB was investigated on the polymerized aminophenol film decorated with Ag nanoparticles in alkaline media. The polymer film was formed on the glassy carbon electrode by electrochemical technique and then, the surface was modified with Ag nanoparticles. The surface of the modified electrode was identified by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The developed electrode has displayed high electrocatalytic activity for DMAB oxidation in alkaline media depending on the supporting electrolyte concentration. Experimental parameters such as cycle number used in electropolymerization of p-aminophenol, deposition of Ag nanoparticles and supporting electrolyte were optimized.

Abstract
In this study, an electrochemical sensor was applied for the determination of theophylline, a bronchodilator drug, using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface was modified with the La2O3/MWCNT nanocomposite. The design is simplistic, efficient, greener and solvent-free microwave procedure for synthesizing La2O3/MWCNT nanocomposites. Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques are used to characterize the features of the La2O3/MWCNT nanocomposite morphology and structure. The use of the modified sensor remarkably enhanced the current density and displayed a linear response ranging between 0.1 and 400.0 μM, with a limit of detection of 0.01 μM (S/N = 3). Using optimized conditions, the modified sensor demonstrated very good stability, selectivity and improved accuracy. Acceptable outputs were achieved in the analysis of real specimens, indicating that it is possible to use the modified sensor for practical analyses.

Abstract
Phthalocyanines are aromatic or macrocyclic organic compounds and attract great attention due to their numerous properties. They have many high-tech applications in different areas of the industry such as dyestuffs, thermal printing screens, photovoltaic solar cells, membrane catalytic reactors, semiconductor materials and gas sensors. In the last decade, electrochemical sensor studies have accelerated with the catalytic lighting. It plays a dominant role in the development and implementation of new generation sensors. The aim of this study is to review the electrochemical methods based on electrode modification with phthalocyanines and to shed light on new application areas of phthalocyanines. The focal point was based on the sensor applications of phthalocyanines in the determination of drugs, pesticides, organic materials and metals etc. by electrochemical methods. Experimental conditions and some validation parameters of the sensor applications such as metal phthalocyanine types, indicator electrodes, selectivity, working ranges, detection limits, and analytical applications were discussed. Consequently, this is the first review dealing with the applications of phthalocyanines in electrochemical sensors for the sensitive determination of analytes in a variety of matrices.

Abstract
Precise detection of important pharmaceuticals with narrow therapeutic index (NTI) is very critical as there is a small window between their effective dose and the doses at which the adverse reactions are very likely to appear. Regarding the fact that various pharmacokinetics will be plausible while considering pharmacogenetic factors and also differences between generic and brand name drugs, accurate detection of NTI will be more important. Current routine analytical techniques suffer from many drawbacks while using novel biosensors can bring up many advantages including fast detection, accuracy, low cost with simple and repeatable measurements. Recently the well-known carbon Nano-allotropes including carbon nanotubes and graphenes have been widely used for development of different Nano-biosensors for a diverse list of analytes because of their great physiochemical features such as high tensile strength, ultra-light weight, unique electronic construction, high thermo-chemical stability, and an appropriate capacity for electron transfer. Because of these exceptional properties, scientists have developed an immense interest in these nanomaterials. In this case, there are important reports to show the effective Nano-carbon based biosensors in the detection of NTI drugs and the present review will critically summarize the available data in this field.
