Abstract
6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) as the effective anti-cancer drug was used for the treatment of Crohn's disease and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, but the response to maintenance therapy was variable with individual differences. In order to control the dosage and decrease the side effects of 6-MP, a sensitive and stable assay was urgently needed for 6-MP monitoring. Herein, RuZn NPs with electrochemical oxidation property and oxidase-like activity was proposed for dual-mode 6-MP monitoring. Burr-like RuZn NPs were prepared and explored to not only exhibit an electrochemical oxidation signal at 0.78 V, but also displayed excellent oxidase-like performances. RuZn NPs were utilized for the dual-mode monitoring of 6-MP, attributing to the formation of Ru-SH covalent bonding. The colorimetric method showed good linearity from 10 μM to 5 mM with the limit of detection (LOD) of 300 nM, while the electrochemical method provided a higher sensitivity with the LOD of 37 nM in range from 100 nM to 200 μM. This work provided a new way for the fabrication of dual-functional nanotags with electroactivity and oxidase-like property, and opened a dual-mode approach for the 6-MP detection applications with complementary and satisfactory results.

Abstract
Carbon-based nanoprobes, with excellent physicochemical performance and biocompatibility, are a kind of ideal nanomaterial for biosensing. Herein, we designed and prepared novel oxygen-doped nitrogen-enrichment carbon nanoribbons (ONCNs) with an excellent optical performance and uniform morphology, which could be used as a dual-mode fluorescence probe for the detection of Ag+ ion and captopril (Ctl) based on the synergism of photo-induced electron transfer and aggregation-induced quenching mechanisms. By recording the changes in fluorescent intensities of ONCNs, the Ag+ ion and Ctl concentrations can be easily tested in real samples. The results displayed that two good linear relationships existed between the change in fluorescent intensity of ONCNs and the concentrations of Ag+ ion and Ctl in the ranges of 3 μM to 30 μM and 1 μM to 30 μM, with the detection limit of 0.78 µM and 74 nM, respectively. The proposed sensing platform has also been successfully applied for the Ctl analysis in commercial tablet samples based on its high selectivity, proving its value in practical applications.

Abstract
In this study, a new magnetic nanocomposite was developed as an efficient and fast-response fluorescence quenching sensor for determination of anticancer drug 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP). For this purpose, the needle-shape fluorescence metal-organic framework of cerium (Ce-MOF) were successfully synthesized on the surface of multiwalled carbon nanotubes using 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid ligand via a facile solvothermal assisted route and magnetized. The accuracy of the proposed synthesis was confirmed using the FT-IR, FE-SEM, XRD, and VSM methods. The obtained product as presented the fluorescence emission in 331 nm by excitation of 293 nm in excitation/emission slit widths of 10.0 nm. The operation of suggested method is based on quenching the fluorescence signal in accordance with increasing the 6-MP concentration. The proposed assay effectively detected the trace amount of 6-MP in the linear range of 1.0 × 10-6 to 7 × 10-5 M. The limit of detection and limit of quantification were obtained as 8.6 × 10-7 and 2.86 × 10-6 M, respectively. The analyte molecule was determined in real samples with satisfactory recoveries between 98.75 and 105.33.

Abstract
p-Nitrophenol and its derivatives can cause serious harm to the health of mankind and the earth's ecosystem. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a novel and rapid detection technology for p-nitrophenol and its derivative. Herein, excellent water-soluble, large-size and dual-emissive neuron cell-analogous carbon-based probes (NCNPs) have been prepared via a solvothermal approach, using o-phenylenediamine as the only precursor, which exhibit two distinctive fluorescence (FL) peaks at 420 and 555 nm under 345 nm excitation. The NCNPs show a neuron cell-like branched structure, are cross-connected, and are in the range of 10-20 nm in skeleton diameter. Interestingly, their blue-green dual-colour fluorescence is quenched by p-nitrophenol or its derivative due to the specific mechanism of the ππ stacking interactions or internal filtration effect. Accordingly, a simple, rapid, direct and free-label ratiometric FL detection of p-nitrophenol is proposed. An excellent linear relationship shows linear regions over the range of 0.1-50 μM between the ratio of the FL intensity (FL555 nm/FL420 nm) and the concentrations of p-nitrophenol. The detection limit is as low as 43 nM (3σ). Importantly, the NCNP-based probe also shows acceptable repeatability and reproducibility for the detection of p-nitrophenol and its derivatives, and the recovery results for p-nitrophenol in real wastewater samples are favourable.
