Abstract
As a reactive sulfur species, sulfur dioxide (SO2) and its derivatives play crucial role in various physiological processes, which can maintain redox homeostasis at normal levels and lead to the occurrence of many diseases at abnormal levels. So, the development of a suitable fluorescent probe is a crucial step in advancing our understanding of the role of SO2 derivatives in living organisms. Herein, we developed a near-infrared fluorescent probe (SP) based on the ICT mechanism to monitor SO2 derivatives in living organisms in a ratiometric manner. The probe SP exhibited excellent selectivity, good sensitivity, fast response rate (within 50 s), and low detection limit (1.79 µM). In addition, the cell experiment results suggested that the SP has been successfully employed for the real-time monitoring of endogenous and exogenous SO2 derivatives with negligible cytotoxicity. Moreover, SP was effective in detecting SO2 derivatives in mice.

Abstract
Hydrazine (N2H4) and bisulfite (HSO3-) detection methods are urgently needed due to its harmful to the human health and environment safety. Herein, we reported a dual-response fluorescence probe EPC, which is capable of sequential detection of N2H4 and HSO3- by two different fluorescence signals. The probe EPC itself showed yellow florescence. In presence of N2H4, probe EPC exhibited an obviously fluorescence change (from yellow to green). However, a new addition product came into being after probe EPC mixed with HSO3-, followed with weak yellow emission. More important, probe EPC exhibited excellent fluorescence response properties for N2H4 and HSO3-, such as high sensitivity (0.182 µM for N2H4, 0.093 µM for HSO3-), rapid response (55 s for N2H4, 45 s for HSO3-), excellent selectivity and anti-interference performance. The sensing mechanisms for N2H4 and HSO3- were proved by 1H NMR and MS spectra. Practical applications were studied. EPC based test paper can be utilized for quantitative detecting N2H4 in actual water samples. And, probe EPC has been successfully applied to recognize N2H4 contaminant in soil samples. Moreover, EPC has great potential to be used to detect HSO3- in real food samples.

Abstract
In this work, a ratiometric and chromogenic fluorescent probe 1 was synthesized for the detection of SO32-. The probe 1 at PBS (10 mM, pH = 7.4) presented a marked emission band at 661 nm. Upon addition of SO32- ions, a highly emissive adduct with a marked fluorescence at 471 nm were obtained through a Michael addition. The probe 1 displayed a noticeable fluorescence ratiometric response with a large shift (190 nm) in emission wavelength. The probe can quantitatively detect SO32- with high specificity, fast response (within 130 s) as well as low detection limit (13 nM), and a large Stokes shift (139 nm). Fluorescence imaging of HeLa cells indicated that 1 could be used for monitoring the intrinsically generated intracellular SO32- in living cells by ratiometric fluorescence imaging. Furthermore, 1 could be application in real water and sugar samples with high sensitivity and good recoveries.

Abstract
SO2 and its derivatives play an important role in the antioxidation and anticorrosion of food and medicine. In biological systems, abnormal levels of SO2 lead to the occurrence of many biological diseases. Hence, the development of suitable tools for monitoring SO2 in mitochondria is beneficial for studying the biological effect of SO2 in subcellular organelles. In this research, DHX-1 and DHX-2 are fluorescent probes designed on the basis of dihydroxanthene skeletons. Importantly, DHX-1 (650 nm) and DHX-2 (748 nm) show near-infrared fluorescence response toward endogenous and exogenous SO2, which showed advantages of great selectivity, good sensitivity and low cytotoxicity, and the detection limit is 5.6 μM and 4.08 μM of SO2, respectively. Moreover, DHX-1 and DHX-2 realized SO2 sensing in HeLa cells and zebrafish. Moreover, cell imaging demonstrated that DHX-2 with a thiazole salt structure possesses good mitochondria-targeting ability. Additionally, DHX-2 was perfectly achieved by in situ imaging of SO2 in mice.

Abstract
Abnormal levels of SO2 in organisms can cause cardiovascular disease and respiratory allergies. In addition, the amount of SO2 derivatives used as food preservatives is strictly controlled, and excessive addition can also be harmful to health. Therefore, it is essential to develop a highly sensitive method for the detection of SO2 and its derivatives in biological systems and real food samples. In this work, a new fluorescent probe (TCMs) with high selectivity and sensitivity for the detection of SO2 derivatives was reported. The TCMs could quickly identify SO2 derivatives. It has been successfully used to detect exogenous and endogenous SO2 derivatives. Furthermore, the TCMs has high sensitivity to SO2 derivatives in food samples. Moreover, the prepared test strips could be evaluated for the content of SO2 derivatives in aqueous solutions. This work provides a potential chemical tool to detect SO2 derivatives in living cells and real food samples.

Abstract
Sulfur dioxide (SO2) derivatives are intertwined with many physiological and pathological processes in living systems, and excess intake of them are associated with various diseases. Herein, we have rationally constructed a novel colorimetric and far-red fluorescent probe for HSO3- based on a rhodamine analogue skeleton bearing a 3-quinolinium carboxaldehyde moiety. The novel probe exhibited a significant far-red fluorescence "Turn-on" response to HSO3-, along with obvious color change from reddish to purple via the specific 1,4-nucleophilic addition reaction of HSO3- with the quinolinium moiety in 3-(4-(2-carboxyphenyl)-7-(diethylamino)chromenylium-2-yl)-1-methylquinolin-1-ium hypochlorite trifluoromethanesulfonate (AQCB). The AQCB had excellent water-solubility, and presented rapid response (<15 s),highsensibility(LOD = 49 nM) and selectivity toward HSO3-. In addition, the probe was able to detect the content of HSO3- in food samples with satisfactory results. Furthermore, the probe possessed good cell membrane and could be successfully applied for imaging HSO3- in the mitochondria of living cells.
