Abstract
An efficient and rapid synthesis of a new class of chiral oxime ethers has been achieved via
two-step reaction in which the first step is the reaction of oximes 1a-f with ethyl bromoacetate in the
presence of sodium hydride to give oxime ethers 2a-f which are subsequently, in the second step, reacted
with different commercially available chiral amines under microwave irradiation conditions to
give compounds 3a-l in good to excellent yields. Through this method, we have observed a decrease in
reaction time and excellent yields than the previously described conventional method.

Abstract
An efficient protocol for the direct transformation of chroman-4-ones to tricyclic fused pyridines with the skeleton of cassiarins, a family of alkaloids with antimalarial activity, was developed. Also, a general strategy for modular construction of polyheterocycles with diverse natural product-like skeletons was developed by using ketone-alkyne bifunctional substrates. These reactions involved a one-pot cascade oximation of ketones, rhodium-catalyzed C-H activation, and intermolecular/intramolecular alkyne annulations under mild conditions with high atom, step, and redox economy.

Abstract
Phenanthroindolizidines and phenanthroquinolizidines were concisely synthesized by the reductive decyanization of cyano-promoted intramolecular aza-Diels-Alder cycloadducts followed by aryl-aryl coupling. Cyano groups were removed from α-aminoacrylonitriles via treatment with sodium borohydride in 2-propanol in almost quantitative yields; a possible mechanism was proposed and examined using D-labeling experiments. A systematic study of the effects of the phenanthrene substitution pattern on the anticancer activity against three human cancer cell lines was discussed.

Abstract
An expedient one-pot rhodium catalyzed C-H bond functionalization/electrocyclization/dehydration procedure has been developed for the synthesis of highly substituted pyridine derivatives from terminal alkynes and α,β-unsaturated ketoximes. The use of electron-deficient phosphite ligands is important to suppress dimerization of the terminal alkynes to enynes.

Abstract
The [3 + 2] dipolar cycloaddition of 4-halosydnones with 1-haloalkynes opens a straightforward access to 3,5-dihalopyrazoles, valuable scaffolds for the elaboration of unsymmetrically 3,5-substituted pyrazole derivatives via site-selective Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. For instance, the flexible introduction of different (hetero)aryl substituents at the C-5 and C-3 positions of the PMP-protected pyrazole nucleus was achieved in a one-pot operation via sequential reactions with various boronic acids.

Abstract
1-Azadienes are versatile building blocks for the efficient construction of various N-heterocycles. Depending on the substitution pattern and reaction partner, they may participate in a range of different reactions. An overview of recent methods for the generation of 1-azadienes is presented, as well as their application in cycloaddition, electrocyclization, and multicomponent reactions. Considering the broad range of reactivities and resulting heterocyclic scaffold structures, 1-azadienes are very useful reactive intermediates for the development of modular reaction sequences in diversity-oriented synthesis.
