Abstract
The synthesis of well-defined block copolymers from one-pot monomer mixtures is particularly challenging when monomers are from the same class and show similar reactivity. Herein, an indium-based catalyst that shows comparable rates in the ring-opening homopolymerization of β-butyrolactone (β-BL) and ε-decalactone (ε-DL), demonstrates monomer-selective behavior in one-pot copolymerizations of β-BL and ε-DL. This provides simple and rapid access to well-defined di-, tri-, or tetra-block copolyesters from monomer mixtures. The sequence-controlled nature of these polymers was confirmed by kinetic analysis, 13C{1H} NMR spectroscopy, DSC, and TGA measurements.

Abstract
Imine- and phosphinimine-supported indium complexes were used as catalysts in the polymerization of racemic lactide and ε-caprolactone as well as their copolymerization by the sequential and simultaneous addition of monomers. Tuning the electronics and sterics of the indium centers by either (i) changing the nature of the nitrogen donors and (ii) coordinating a hemilabile side group had a significant effect on the reactivity of the complexes, their stability, and their control in the synthesis of block copolymers. Specifically, the imine-supported complex (5) showed the highest activity in the homo- and copolymerization of the cyclic esters, in contrast to the phosphinimine-supported complex (7), which was significantly slower and less stable. The presence of morpholine and thiomorpholine hemilabile side groups either reduced the activity or prevented the formation of alkoxide complexes.

Abstract
Bacterial polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are a unique class of biodegradable polymers because of their biodegradability in ambient environments and structural diversity enabled by side-chain groups. However, the biosynthesis of PHAs is slow and expensive, limiting their broader applications as commodity plastics. To overcome such limitation, the catalyzed chemical synthesis of bacterial PHAs has been developed, using the metal-catalyzed stereoselective ring-opening (co)polymerization of racemic cyclic diolides (rac-8DLR , R=alkyl group). In this combined experimental and computational study, polymerization kinetics, stereocontrol, copolymerization characteristics, and the properties of the resulting PHAs have been examined. Most notably, stereoselective copolymerizations of rac-8DLMe with rac-8DLR (R=Et, Bu) have yielded high-molecular-weight, crystalline isotactic PHA copolymers that are hard, ductile, and tough plastics, and exhibit polyolefin-like thermal and mechanical properties.

Abstract
The terpolymerization of propylene oxide (PO), CO2, and a lactone is one of the prominent sustainable procedures for synthesizing thermoplastic materials at an industrial scale. Herein, the one-pot terpolymerization of PO, CO2, and β-butyrolactone (BBL) was achieved for the first time using a heterogeneous nano-sized catalyst: zinc glutarate (ZnGA-20). The reactivity of both PO and BBL increased with the CO2 pressure, and the polyester content of the terpolymer poly (carbonate-co-ester) could be tuned by controlling the infeed ratio of PO to BBL. When the polyester content increased, the thermal stability of the polymers increased, whereas the glass transition temperature (Tg) decreased.
