Abstract
The results of this study show that disilathiane is an effective mediator in the synthesis of alkyl aryl sulfides with disulfides and alkyl carboxylates. Mechanistic studies suggest that disilathiane promotes cleavage of the sulfur-sulfur bond of disulfides to generate thiosilane as a key intermediate. Diselenides were also applicable to this transformation to produce the corresponding selenides.

Abstract
Selenoesters are compounds of great synthetic relevance since they can be used in several types of chemical transformations and mainly due to their great capacity in the formation of acyl radicals. Therefore, the scientific community has been developing several methods for the synthesis of this class of molecules. This review will address the synthesis of these compounds from different starting materials, such as carboxylic acids derivatives (acid chlorides and anhydrides), aldehydes, selenoacetylenes and miscellaneous methods.

Abstract
A novel strategy for the synthesis of sulfides and selenides from phosphonium salts and thio- or selenesulfonates, commercially available compounds, is described. When phosphoranes were used in the reaction, different products were obtained. The methodology does not require the use of metals, reactive species, or anhydrous conditions to be performed.

Abstract
A new and practical method for the generation of aryl radicals from aryl halides is reported. Rongalite as a novel precursor of super electron donors was used to initiate a series of electron-catalyzed reactions under mild conditions. These transition-metal-free radical chain reactions enable the efficient formation of C-C, C-S, and C-P bonds through homolytic aromatic substitution or SRN1 reactions. Moreover, the synthesis of antipsychotic drug Quetiapine was performed on gram scale through the described method. This protocol demonstrated its potential as a promising arylation method in organic synthesis.

Abstract
We describe here an atom efficient procedure to prepare selenol esters in good to excellent yields by reacting [(PhSe)₂Zn] or [(PhSe)₂Zn]TMEDA with acyl chlorides under "on water" conditions. The method is applicable to a series of aromatic and aliphatic acyl chlorides and tolerates the presence of other functionalities in the starting material.

Abstract
A mild, practical, and simple procedure for phenyl selenoesters synthesis from several anhydrides and diphenyl diselenide was developed. This transition-metal-free method provides a straightforward entry to storable Fmoc-amino acid selenoesters which are effective chemoselective acylating reagents. An application to oligopeptide synthesis was illustrated.

Abstract
An alternative green method was described for the synthesis of selanylesters by reactions of acyl chlorides with arylselenols, generated in situ by reaction of diaryl diselenides with hypophosphorous acid (H3PO2) using polyethylene glycol-400 (PEG-400) as the solvent.

Abstract

One
major synthetic route to the synthesis of benzyl amines, ethers,
and esters is the nucleophilic substitution of a benzylic halide.
To develop a method for the facile synthesis and functionalization
of the isosteric azaborines, 2-chloromethyl-2,1-borazaronaphthalene
has been synthesized in one step to afford a similar common precursor
to a benzylic halide. This B–N isostere has been shown to be
an effective building block by serving as an electrophile in substitution
reactions with a large variety of nucleophiles.

Abstract
A new CE system using ionic liquids coated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (ILs-MWNTs) as pseudostationary phase was developed for the simultaneous determination of four flavonoids, four phenolic acids and two saponins. Several parameters affecting the separation were studied, including the choice of ILs, ILs-MWNTs concentration, the respective use of ILs and MWNTs, buffer pH, SDS concentration and borate content. Results revealed that the addition of ILs-MWNTs in running electrolytes enhanced the separation of target compounds compared to conventional micelle because the surface of carbon nanotubes interacted favorably with the analytes. Under the optimum conditions, a baseline separation was achieved for these analytes within 11 min in a 41.5 cm of effective length fused-silica capillary. At a voltage of 28.0 kV, the separation was carried out in a 10mM borate buffer (pH 9.0) containing 100mM SDS, 6% propanol and 4 μg mL(-1) ILs-MWNTs. All calibration curves showed good linearity (r(2)>0.9990) within the test ranges. The intra- and inter-day precisions as determined from standard solutions were below 3.30% and 6.23%, respectively. The recoveries for ten compounds were found to range from 85.5 to 101.8%. The method was successfully applied for the determination of three types of compounds in Qishenyiqi dropping pills. Our experimental results indicated that the proposed method offered new opportunities for the analysis of complex samples.
