Abstract
Tetrabutylammonium acetate (TBAA) and Cu(OAc)2 worked as a binary catalytic system for the solvent-free N-formylation of amines with CO2 and PhSiH3. This catalysis making C-H and C-N bonds with CO2 was coupled with the C-C bond-forming reactions to achieve the one-pot synthesis of enamines, aldehydes, and nitriles. The X-ray crystal structure of a Cu(OAc)2-TBAA complex was also revealed.

Abstract
A novel method for C-H cyanation of different pyrans, pyrroles, indoles, and acyclic nucleophilic double bonds using TMSCN, NIS, and Zn(OTf)2 as a catalyst is described. The transformation is conducted under mild conditions tolerating a variety of functional groups. Zn(OTf)2 is likely to serve a dual catalytic role as an activator for TMSCN and for the cyanogen iodide generated in situ. Optimization, the substrate scope, and mechanistic observations are reported. Furthermore, this method is applied in the first total synthesis of the natural product nannozinone B.

Abstract
A selective ortho, ortho’‐functionalization of readily available aryl oxazolines by two successive magnesiations with sBu2Mg in toluene followed by trapping reactions with electrophiles, such as (hetero)aryl iodides or bromides, iodine, tosyl cyanide, ethyl cyanoformate or allylic bromides (39 examples, 62–99 % yield) is reported. Treatment of these aryl oxazolines with excess oxalyl chloride and catalytic amounts of DMF (50 °C, 4 h) provided the corresponding nitriles (36 examples, 73–99 % yield). Conversions of these nitriles to valuable heterocycles are reported, and a tentative mechanism is proposed.

Abstract
A novel and rapid construction of 3-cyanoindoles by palladium-catalyzed tandem reactions has been developed. "N-H" free unprotected, N-alkyl and N-aryl 3-cyanoindoles are obtained with good to excellent yields. The usefulness of this synthetic approach is further demonstrated by the successful synthesis of practical compounds such as the therapeutic estrogen receptor ligand A precursor. Mechanism study shows that the tandem catalysis exploits a Suzuki cross-coupling with subsequent base-induced isoxazole fragmentation, followed by the aldimine condensation.

Abstract
Pyrrolotriazine 1 is an important precursor to remdesivir. Initial results toward an efficient synthesis are disclosed consisting of sequential cyanation, amination, and triazine formation beginning from pyrrole. This route makes use of highly abundant, commoditized raw material inputs. The yield of triazine was doubled from 31% to 59%, and the synthetic step count was reduced from 4 to 2. These efforts help to secure the remdesivir supply chain.

Abstract
The Schmidt reaction has been an efficient and widely used synthetic approach to amides and nitriles since its discovery in 1923. However, its application often entails the use of volatile, potentially explosive, and highly toxic azide reagents. Here, we report a sequence whereby triflic anhydride and formic and acetic acids activate the bulk chemical nitromethane to serve as a nitrogen donor in place of azides in Schmidt-like reactions. This protocol further expands the substrate scope to alkynes and simple alkyl benzenes for the preparation of amides and nitriles.

Abstract
The reaction of terminal alkynes with n-BuLi, and then with aldehydes, followed by the treatment with molecular iodine, and subsequently hydrazines or hydroxylamine provided the corresponding 3,5-disubstituted pyrazoles or isoxazoles in good yields with high regioselectivity, through the formations of propargyl secondary alkoxides and α-alkynyl ketones. The present reactions are one-pot preparation of 3,5-disubstituted pyrazoles from terminal alkynes, aldehydes, molecular iodine, and hydrazines, and 3,5-disubstituted isoxazoles from terminal alkynes, aldehydes, molecular iodine, and hydroxylamine.

Abstract
In the title molecule, C9H9NO2, the non-H atoms are essentially coplanar with a maximum deviation of 0.027 (2) Å for the C atom of one of the methyl groups. In the crystal, the molecules are arranged into centrosymmetric pairs via pairs of C—H⋯O and C—H⋯N interactions whereas π–π stacking interactions between the benzene rings [centroid–centroid distance 3.91001 (15) Å] organize them into polymeric strands propagating along the a-axis direction. There is a step of 0.644 (2) Å between the two planar parts of the centrosymmetric pair. In neighboring strands related by the n-glide operation, the aromatic rings are tilted by 29.08 (2)°.
