Abstract
Responsive organic luminescent aggregates have a wide range of application fields, but currently there is still a lack of reasonable molecular design strategies. Introducing ion-π interactions into molecules can effectively alter their luminescent properties. However, current research typically focuses on ion localization at luminescent conjugated groups with the strong interaction forces. In this work, we introduce the flexible alkoxy chain spacers between fluorescent conjugated groups and ion-π interaction sites, and then adjust the fluorescence performance of the molecule by changing the strength of ion-π interactions. Bromine ion-based molecules with strong ion-π interactions exhibit high and stable fluorescence quantum yields in crystals and amorphous powders under the external stimuli. Hexafluorophosphate ion-based molecules with weak ion-π interactions have the high fluorescence quantum yield in crystals and very low fluorescence quantum yield in amorphous powders, showing variable fluorescence intensities under external stimuli. This demonstrates a new class of responsive organic luminescent solid-state materials.

Abstract
According to WHO, in 2021, there was an estimation of 247 million malaria cases from 84 malaria-endemic countries. Globally an estimated count of 2 billion malaria cases and 11.7 million deaths due to malaria were recorded in the past two decades. Further, the emergence of drug-resistant mosquitos threatens mankind. Therefore, the development of newer larvicidal agents is the need of the hour. This research identifies a new series of variably substituted indolizines for their effectiveness in controlling Anopheles arabiensis larvae through larvicidal activity. The series of Ethyl 3-benzoyl-7-(piperidin-1-yl)indolizine-1-carboxylate analogues (4a-j) were synthesized by reacting 4-(piperidin-1-yl)pyridine, phenacyl bromides with ethyl propiolate via 1, 3-dipolar cycloaddition and the green metrics of the process are reported. All the newly synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques such as 1H NMR,13C NMR, FT-IR, and HRMS. The larvicidal effectiveness of the newly synthesized compounds was assessed against Anopheles arabiensis. Among the compounds studied, namely 4c, 4d, 4e, and 4f, displayed the most notable larval mortality rates within the series, reaching 73%, 81%, 76%, and 71% respectively, in contrast with the negative control acetone. In comparison, the standard Temephos exhibited a mortality rate of 99% at the same concentration. Furthermore, computational approaches including molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations identified the potential targets of the series compounds as the larval Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme and the Sterol Carrier Protein-2 (SCP-2) protein. Abstract
Bathochromic or hypsochromic shift-type mechanofluorochromism (b-MFC or h-MFC) was found for (D-π-)2A-type azine-based fluorescent dyes OUY-2, OUK-2, and OUJ-2 possessing intramolecular charge-transfer (ICT) characteristics from two (diphenylamino)carbazole-thiophene units as D (electron-donating group)-π (π-conjugated bridge) moieties to a pyridine, pyrazine, or triazine ring as A (electron-withdrawing group): grinding of the recrystallized dyes induced red or blue shifts of the fluorescent colors, that is, bathochromic or hypsochromic shifts of the fluorescence maximum wavelengths (λfl-solid max). The degrees of MFC evaluated by the absolute value of differences (Δλ fl-solid max) in λfl-solid max before and after grinding of the recrystallized dyes increased in the order of OUY-2 (+7 nm) < OUK-2 (-17 nm) < OUJ-2 (+45 nm), so that OUJ-2 exhibits obvious b-MFC, but OUK-2 exhibits h-MFC. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) demonstrated that the recrystallized dyes were in the crystalline state but the ground dyes were in the amorphous state. When the ground solids were heated above their crystallization temperatures (T c), the colors and fluorescent colors recovered to the original ones before grinding or converted to other ones, that is, heating the ground solids in the amorphous state induced the recrystallization to recover the original microcrystals or to form other microcrystals due to polymorph transformation. However, (D-π-)2Ph-type fluorescent dye OTK-2 having a phenyl group as a substitute for the azine rings exhibited non-obvious MFC. Molecular orbital (MO) calculations indicated that the values of the dipole moments (μ g) in the ground state were 4.0 debye, 1.4 debye, 3.2 debye, and 2.9 debye for OTK-2, OUY-2, OUK-2, and OUJ-2, respectively. Consequently, on the basis of experimental results and MO calculations, we have demonstrated that the MFC of the (D-π-)2A-type azine-based fluorescent dyes is attributed to reversible switching between the crystalline state of the recrystallized dyes and the amorphous state of the ground dyes with changes in the intermolecular dipole-dipole and π-π interactions before and after grinding. Moreover, this work reveals that (D-π-)2A fluorescent dyes possessing dipole moments of ca. 3 debye as well as moderate or intense ICT characteristics make it possible to activate the MFC.

Abstract
A series of new organochalcogen derivatives of indolizines was synthesized in moderate to excellent yields from pyridinium salts and chalcogeno-alkynes. The reaction can be carried out under thermal conditions or by sonochemical processes in short reaction times. The stepwise cycloaddition reaction forming chalcogeno-indolizines is regioselective and extends to a broad range of functional groups. Furthermore, novel chalcogeno-alkynes are reported and the first derivatives of teluro-indolizine are described. The influence of selenium functionalization on the photophysical properties of indolizines is also described, in which the compounds showed absorption in the UV-Vis region around 360 nm and emission in the blue-to-green region. Relatively low fluorescence quantum yield (ϕfl) values were calculated, in agreement with the chalcogen effect on other heterocycles.

Abstract
The possibility to change the molecular assembled structures of organic and organometallic materials through mechanical stimulation is emerging as a general and powerful concept for the design of functional materials. In particular, the photophysical properties such as photoluminescence color, quantum yield, and emission lifetime of organic and organometallic fluorophores can significantly depend on the molecular packing, enabling the development of molecular materials with mechanoresponsive luminescence characteristics. Indeed, an increasing number of studies have shown in recent years that mechanical force can be utilized to change the molecular arrangement, and thereby the optical response, of luminescent molecular assemblies of π-conjugated organic or organometallic molecules. Here, the development of such mechanoresponsive luminescent (MRL) molecular assemblies consisting of organic or organometallic molecules is reviewed and emerging trends in this research field are summarized. After a brief introduction of mechanoresponsive luminescence observed in molecular assemblies, the concept of "luminescent molecular domino" is introduced, before molecular materials that show turn-on/off of photoluminescence in response to mechanical stimulation are reviewed. Mechanically stimulated multicolor changes and water-soluble MRL materials are also highlighted and approaches that combine the concept of MRL molecular assemblies with other materials types are presented in the last part of this progress report.

Abstract
The synthesis and the solution/solid-state fluorescence properties of pyrimidine-based monoboron complexes differing in terms of the substituents [either two fluorine atoms (BF2 complex) or two phenyl groups (BPh2 complex)] on the boron atom are reported herein. Unrestricted C-Ar intramolecular rotation in the non-, trifluoromethyl-, and cyano-substituted derivatives resulted in negligible fluorescence in solution. On the other hand, methoxy- and dimethylamino-substituted analogues caused the restriction of the C-Ar intramolecular rotation and consequently resulted in relatively strong fluorescence in solution. The non-, trifluoromethyl-, and cyano-substituted derivatives showed a pronounced aggregation-induced emission enhancement effect. Dimethylamino-substituted derivatives exhibited solvatochromism in the fluorescence spectra. Substitution with BPh2 effectively enhanced the fluorescence quantum yield compared to the corresponding BF2 complexes in the solid-state.
