Abstract
Alkynes are readily available and multifunctional synthetic intermediates, but their 1,1-oxofunctionalization remains challenging. Herein, we report a 1,1-oxycarbonation of terminal alkynes to construct ketones through sequential borylation, 1,2-carbon migration, and oxidation with Oxone as the proton source and oxidant. The synthetic potential of this transformation is showcased by the broad functional groups, scale-up synthesis, and diverse product transformations.

Abstract
An efficient protocol for the synthesis of cyclic guanidine with exocyclic double bond has been developed. The synthesis has been achieved via intramolecular hydroamination of an intermediate propargyl guanidine by using silver acetate as catalyst in the presence of acetic acid. The reaction proceeds via the formation of acyclic propargyl guanidine in a one-pot reaction of N,N-dibromoarylsulfonamides, isonitriles, and propargylamine in the presence of K2CO3. In the second stage of the synthesis, the acyclic guanidine selectively undergoes 5-exo-dig cyclization in the presence of silver acetate and acetic acid to produce the five-membered cyclic guanidine framework having an exocyclic double bond as the constituent part. Short reaction time, wide substrate scope with good to high yields, and good functional group tolerance are the remarkable achievement of the present protocol.

Abstract
Unanticipated formation of symmetrical sulfonyl guanidine was observed while treating isonitriles with N,N-dibromoarylsulfonamides in absence of an external amine source. Interesting feature of this work is that one molecule of isonitrile initially reacts with dibromoarylsulfonamide via the C-end to produce the intermediate carbodiimide while the other molecule undergoes C≡N triple bond cleavage to react as amine source with the intermediate. This switch of reactivity from C-center to N-center of the isonitrile generated symmetrical guanidine.

Abstract
α-Haloketones play an essential role in the synthesis of complex N-, S-, O-heterocycles; of which some exhibit a remarkable biological activity. Research further illustrated that α-bromo-, α-chloro-, and α-iodoketones are key precursors for blockbuster pharmacological compounds. Over the past twenty years, substantial advances have been made in the synthesis of these industrially relevant building blocks. Efforts have focused on rendering the synthetic protocols greener, more effective and versatile. In this survey, we summarised and thoroughly evaluated the progress of the field, established in the past two decades, in terms of generality, efficacy and sustainability.

Abstract
A unified approach has been developed for the synthesis of both isourea and isothiourea in a three-component coupling reaction by treating alcohols or thiols respectively with N,N-dibromoarylsulfonamides and isonitrile and in the presence of K2CO3. This metal-free process proceeds via carbodiimide intermediate at room temperature within a very short reaction time. A library of sulfonylisoureas and isothioureas has been made using this synthetic protocol with wide substrate scope in good to high yields.

Abstract
A new approach to C-S couplings is reported that relies on nickel catalysis under mild conditions, enabled by micellar catalysis in recyclable water as the reaction medium. The protocol tolerates a wide range of heteroaromatic halides and thiols, including alkyl and heteroaryl thiols, leading to a variety of thioethers in good isolated yields. The method is scalable, results in low residual metal in the products, and is applicable to syntheses of targets in the pharmaceutical area. The procedure also features an associated low E Factor, suggesting a far more attractive entry than is otherwise currently available, especially those based on unsustainable loadings of Pd catalysts.

Abstract
Synthesis of α-heterosubstituted ketones was achieved through sulfur mediated difunctionalization of internal alkynes in one pot. The reaction design involves: phenyl substituted internal alkyne attacking triflic anhydride activated diphenyl sulfoxide to give a sulfonium vinyl triflate intermediate, hydrolysis to give an α-sulfonium ketone, and then substitution with various nucleophiles. This method provides a unified route to access α-amino ketones, α-acyloxy ketones, α-thio ketones, α-halo ketones, α-hydroxy ketones, and related heterocyclic structures, in a rapid fashion.

Abstract
The use of liquid sulfur dioxide as a reaction solvent to promote chemical transformations of alkynes has been explored. First, a combination of liquid SO2 and In(OTf)3 or Hf(OTf)4 as a catalyst allows to perform hydration of aryl alkynes under mild conditions without a direct addition of Brønsted acid. Second, novel catalyst-free conditions for the synthesis of α-vinyl iodides, bromides, and chlorides from aryl alkynes have been developed in liquid SO2 using group I and II metal halides and ammonium iodide as the halide ion sources.
