Abstract
The development of a new class of concave P-stereogenic phosphorodiamidite ligands, derived from Tröger's bases (TBs), is explored. These ligands, characterized by their remarkable stability and unique structural geometry around the P atom, are used in asymmetric Rh(I)-catalyzed additions of boronic acids to NH-isatins resulting in excellent reactivities and reasonable enantioselectivity (er up to 92:8).

Abstract
Catalytic asymmetric addition of arylboronic acids to ketones is a powerful transformation for directly delivering chiral tertiary alcohols. However, there is no successful example of enantioselective addition to steric bulky isatins, which contain bulky substituent at the 4-position. To confront this challenge, in this work a dirhodium/(BTFM-Garphos) system was developed that showed extremely high activity and stereoselectivity, and the reactions were usually finished within a few minutes.

Abstract
We report an intermolecular Ni-catalyzed reductive coupling of aryl iodides and isatins to form 3-hydroxyoxindoles. In contrast to common metal-mediated methods, sec-butanol is used as a mild stoichiometric reductant resulting in benign waste products. This formal 1,2-addition reaction is facilitated by a 1,5-diaza-3,7-diphosphacyclooctane (P2N2) ligand. Two Ni(0)-P2N2 species are prepared and found to be catalytically active, supporting a mechanistic hypothesis that this reaction proceeds by a modified carbonyl-Heck-type pathway.

Abstract
To date, enantiomerically enriched molecules containing gem(1,1)-diaryl containing tertiary or quaternary stereogenic centers have been readily accessed by transition metal-catalyzed enantioselective or stereoconvergent aryl transfer reactions.
Chiral gem(1,1)-diaryl containing tertiary or quaternary stereogenic centers are present in many natural products and important pharmacophores. While numerous catalytic asymmetric methods enable access to 1,1-diaryl motifs, transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric arylations (TMCAAr) are one of the most powerful methods to prepare enantiopure gem-diarylalkane compounds. The main methodology includes enantioselective 1,2- or 1,4-additions across C

Abstract
The synthesis of 3-aryl-3-hydroxy-2-oxindoles, which are a structural motif found in various natural products and pharmaceutically active compounds, was conducted via reductive coupling of (2-aminophenyl)(aryl)methanone derivatives and CO2 as a key step. The conditions employing Mg with chlorotrimethylsilane in DMA are the best for the reductive coupling. The reductive coupling and acid-catalyzed lactam formation can be performed in a one-pot reaction to give the oxindoles.

Abstract
Sulfoxides are capable of forming stable complexes with transition metals and there have been many comprehensive studies into their binding properties. However, the use of sulfoxides, particularly chiral sulfoxides, as ligands in transition metal catalysis is rather less well developed. This review aims to describe these catalytic studies and covers new developments that are showing very promising results and that have led to a renewed interest in this field.

Abstract
In the presence of a Cu(ii) complex of chiral, N,N,O-tridentate phenanthroline ligand (S)-2, asymmetric oxygen atom transfer of oxindole (3) using Davis’ oxaziridine (4) occurred to give the corresponding 3-aryl-3-hydroxy-2-oxindole derivatives (1) with excellent enantioselectivity.
