Abstract
An unprecedented organocatalytic enantioselective [4 + 2] cycloaddition reaction of vinyl quinolines with dienals is achieved with the synergistic activation of CH3SO3H and a chiral aminocatalyst. The power of the process is demonstrated by its high efficiency of the production of new synthetically and biologically valued chiral quinoline architectures in high yields and with excellent enantioselectivities.

Abstract
An unprecedented catalytic aza-Michael addition to substituted 3-vinyl-1,2,4-triazines, as original bifunctional platforms for the domino conjugate addition inverse-electron-demand hetero-Diels-Alder/retro-Diels-Alder ( ihDA/ rDA) reaction, was achieved using the highly acidic triflimide as an organocatalyst. Based on the use of alkoxyamine nucleophiles, this sequence not only highlights a rare example of the catalytic aza-Michael reaction to alkenylazaarenes but also proves to be useful for the elaboration of an array of biorelevant tetrahydro-[1,6]-naphthyridines.

Abstract
Michael addition has been achieved with a variety of amino acid esters and 2- or 4-vinylpyridine. Similar reactions were accomplished with an alkenyl-substituted pyrimidine, pyrazine, thiazole, quinoxaline, benzoxazole, and quinolone. In reactions at a prochiral center, modest diastereoselectivities were observed with the formation of the new stereogenic carbon. NMR experiments indicate that the addition reaction is reversible under acidic conditions.

Abstract
The intramolecular reactions of olefinic N-heterocycles have been studied. In triflic acid-promoted reactions, conjugate addition is observed with pyrazine-, 2-pyrimidine-, and 2-quinoxaline-based olefins and a phenyl group nucleophile. Markovnikov addition is observed with pyridine and 5-quinoxaline-based olefins. These results are in accordance with previous observations relating the type of addition-conjugate or Markovnikov-to the positions of olefinic substituents of the N-heterocycle.

Abstract
A series of new benzophenone and diphenylmethane halophenol derivatives were prepared. Their structures were established based on (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR and HRMS data. All prepared compounds were screened for their in vitro protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) inhibitory activities. The effects of modification of the linker, functional groups and substituted positions at the phenyl ring on PTK inhibitory activity were investigated. Twelve halophenols showed significant PTK inhibitory activity. Among them, compounds 6c, 6d, 7d, 9d, 10d, 11d and 13d exhibited stronger activities than that of genistein, the positive reference compound. The results gave a relatively full and definite description of the structure-activity relationship and provided a foundation for further design and structure optimization of the halophenols.

Abstract
The superacid-promoted reactions of vinyl-substituted N-heterocycles have been studied. Diprotonated pyrimidines, quinoxalines, and quinazolines exhibit an unusual regioelectronic effect that controls the type of addition reaction observed. Depending on the ring position of the vinyl substituent, either conjugate addition or Markovnikov addition occurs. The mode of addition has been shown to correlate well to NBO calculated charges.
