Abstract
Although catalytic enantioselective alkyne addition is an established method for the synthesis of chiral propargylic alcohols and amines, addition to nitrones presents unique challenges, and no general chiral catalyst system has been developed. In this manuscript, we report the first Cu-catalyzed enantioselective alkyne addition to nitrones utilizing tunable axially chiral imidazole-based P,N-ligands. Our approach effectively overcomes difficulties in both reactivity and selectivity, resulting in a simple Cu-catalyzed protocol. The reaction accommodates a wide range of nitrones and alkynes, enabling the streamlined synthesis of chiral propargyl N-hydroxylamines via the enantioselective C-C bond formation. A diverse array of optically active nitrogen-containing compounds, including chiral hydroxylamines, can be accessed directly through facile transformations of the reaction products.

Abstract
:
Propargylamines are an important constituent of diverse, biologically active
and industrially valuable compounds. These useful, convenient and effective compounds
can be synthesized via the A3-coupling reactions between an aldehyde, amine, and alkyne
in the presence of a catalyst. In the past years, most of the catalysts containing transition
metals were applied in these reactions, but today, various heterogeneous catalysts, especially
nanocatalysts are used. The purpose of this review was to introduce some modern
catalysts for the A3-coupling reaction.

Abstract
Nitrones are important compounds and are highly useful in many aspects. The first part describes the methods for synthesis of nitrones, which are useful and environmentally friendly. Catalytic oxidations, condensations, and other useful reactions are described. The nitrones thus obtained are key intermediates for the synthesis of biologically important nitrogen compounds. The second part describes the fundamental transformations of nitrones, which will provide the strategies and means for the construction of nitrogen compounds. The reactions with nucleophiles or radicals, C-H functionalization, and various addition reactions are described. The last reactions are particularly important for highly selective carbon-carbon bond formations. 1,3-Dipolar cycloaddition reactions are excluded because the size of the review is limited and excellent reviews have been published in Chemical Reviews.

Abstract
Propargylamines are a versatile class of compounds which find broad application in many fields of chemistry. This review aims to describe the different strategies developed so far for the synthesis of propargylamines and their derivatives as well as to highlight their reactivity and use as building blocks in the synthesis of chemically relevant organic compounds. In the first part of the review, the different synthetic approaches to synthesize propargylamines, such as A3 couplings and C-H functionalization of alkynes, have been described and organized on the basis of the catalysts employed in the syntheses. Both racemic and enantioselective approaches have been reported. In the second part, an overview of the transformations of propargylamines into heterocyclic compounds such as pyrroles, pyridines, thiazoles, and oxazoles, as well as other relevant organic derivatives, is presented.
