Abstract
The aim of this study was devoted into molecular docking calculations to discover the potential antileishmania and antitoxoplasma activities of newly synthesized compounds obtained by applying a practical and simple method under microwave irradiation. All these compounds were tested in vitro for their biological activity against Leishmania major promastigotes, amastigotes, and Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites. Compounds 2a, 5a, and 5e were the most active against both L. major promastigotes and amastigotes, with IC50 values of less than 0.4 μM mL-1. Compounds 2c, 2e, 2h, and 5d had a strong antitoxoplasma activity of less than 2.1 μM mL-1 against T. gondii. We can conclude that aromatic methyleneisoindolinones are potently active against both L. major and T. gondii. Further studies for mode of action evaluation are recommended. Compounds 5c and 5b are the best drug candidates for antileishmania and antitoxoplasma due to their SI values being over 13. The docking studies of compounds 2a-h and 5a-e against pteridine reductase 1 and T. gondii enoyl acyl carrier protein reductase reveal that compound 5e may be an effective antileishmanial and antitoxoplasma drug discovery initiative.

Synthesis, antimicrobial activity and molecular docking studies of spiroquinoline-indoline-dione and spiropyrazolo-indoline-dione derivatives. Sci Rep 2023; 13:1676. Abstract
Spiro[benzo[h]quinoline-7,3'-indoline]diones and spiro[indoline-3,4'-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoline]diones were efficiently synthesized via one-pot multi-component reactions under ultrasound-promoted conditions. Spiro[benzo[h]quinoline-7,3'-indoline]dione derivatives were successfully developed by the reaction of isatins, naphthalene-1-amine and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds. The spiro[indoline-3,4'-pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinoline]dione derivatives were prepared by the reaction of isatins, 5-amino-1-methyl-3-pheylpyrazole, and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds by using ( ±)-camphor-10-sulfonic acid as a catalyst in H2O/EtOH (3:1 v/v) solvent mixture. The antibacterial activity of the synthesized compounds was evaluated against, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans. Compounds 4b, 4h, and 6h showed the strongest antimicrobial activity toward both bacteria. The MIC values of these compounds ranged from 375-3000 µg/mL. The effect of these compounds (4b, 4h, 6h) as a function of applied dose and time was investigated by a kinetic study, and the interaction with these antimicrobial results was simulated by a molecular docking study. We also used the docking approach with Covid-19 since secondary bacterial infections. Docking showed that indoline-quinoline hybrid compounds 4b and 4h exerted the strongest docking binding value against the active sites of 6LU7. In addition, the synthesized compounds had a moderate to good free radical scavenging activity.

Abstract
Interesting desymmetric [3 + 2] annulation reactions between p-quinamines as prochiral N-donors and 2-aroyl-1-chlorocyclopropanecarboxylates facilitated by a base are reported. This successive double Michael reaction delivered a unique class of cyclopropane-fused hydoindol-5-one frameworks, each having four contiguous stereogenic centers, with three of them being fully substituted. Moreover, this method was found to provide acceptable chemical yields with promising diastereoselectivities (dr of up to ≤95 : 5) and to work with a variety of substrates. Importantly, a polycyclic tacrine analogue used to treat Alzheimer's disease was synthesized using our developed method.

Abstract
The rhodium(III)-catalyzed redox-neutral coupling reaction of N-acyl ketimines generated in situ from 3-hydroxyisoindolinones with various activated olefins is described. This approach leads to the synthesis of bioactive spiroisoindolinone derivatives in moderate to high yields. In the case of internal olefins such as maleimides, maleates, fumarates, and cinnamates, spiroindanes were obtained by the [3 + 2] annulations reaction. In sharp contrast, acrylates and quinones displayed the β-H elimination followed by Prins-type cyclization furnishing spiroindenes. The synthetic compounds were evaluated for in vitro anticancer activity against androgen-sensitive human prostate adenocarcinoma cells (LNCaP), human prostate adenocarcinoma cells (DU145), human endometrial adenocarcinoma cells (Ishikawa), human breast cancer cell (MCF-7), and triple negative human breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-231). Notably, quinone-containing spiroindenes displayed potent anticancer activity about 2- to 3-fold stronger than that of anticancer agent doxorubicin.

Abstract
New 1-[(1,3-thiazol-2-ylamino)methyl]-2-naphthols were obtained by condensation of 2-aminothiazole, aromatic aldehydes, and 2-naphthol in the presence of (+)-camphor-10-sulfonic acid ((+)-CSA) as an effective catalyst under ultrasound-promoted solvent-free conditions. The 1-[(1,3-thiazol-2-ylamino)methyl]-2-naphthol derivatives were converted in ring-closure reaction with formaldehyde to the corresponding naphthoxazine derivatives.
