An efficient and straightforward route to terminal vinyl sulfones via palladium-catalyzed Suzuki reactions of α-bromo ethenylsulfones

α-Arylsulfonyloxyacrylates: attractive O-centered electrophiles for synthesis of α-substituted acrylates via Pd-catalysed Suzuki reactions

We herein report α-arylsulfonyloxyacrylates as a kind of useful and attractive O-centered electrophiles for Suzuki cross-coupling reactions. A range of α-(hetero)aryl substituted acrylates has been prepared via the palladium-catalysed C-C cross-coupling reactions between potassium (hetero)aryltrifluoroborates and α-arylsulfonyloxyacrylates. Moreover, α-arylsulfonyloxyacrylate could also react with B-alkyl-9-BBN to produce α-alkyl substituted acrylates. The synthetic application of this new method was demonstrated by the preparation of the intermediate for synthesis of retinoid X receptors-selective retinoids. These Suzuki reaction-based protocols feature broad substrate scope, generality, and mild reaction conditions.

The Sulfinylsulfonation of alkynes for β-Sulfinyl alkenylsulfone

Here we report the first example of sulfinylsulfonation of alkynes to afford β-sulfinyl alkenylsulfone products with a broad substrate scope, excellent functional group compatibility, and high yield. Moreover, sulfinylsulfonation reaction of enyne can also be realized for constructing functionalized carbo- and heterocycles through a radical cascade cyclization process.

Base-controlled divergent synthesis of vinyl sulfones from (benzylsulfonyl)benzenes and paraformaldehyde

A tuneable metal-free protocol for the selective preparation of α-substituted vinyl sulfone and (E)-vinyl sulfone derivatives has been described. The base played an important role in the selectivity control of transformation.

meso-Tetrakis[4-(methoxycarbonyl)phenyl]porphyrinatopalladium(ii) supported on graphene oxide nanosheets (Pd(ii)-TMCPP-GO): synthesis and catalytic activity

In this study, meso-tetrakis[4-(methoxycarbonyl)phenyl]porphynatopalladium(ii) as a macrocyclic palladium complex was covalently grafted to the surface of graphene oxide (Pd-TMCPP-GO). The prepared catalyst was checked in Suzuki reaction.
