Abstract
Functionalization and derivatization of arylhydrazones are important in pharmaceutical, medicinal, material, and coordination chemistry. In this regard, a facile I2/DMSO-promoted cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) for direct sulfenylation and selenylation of arylhydrazones has been accomplished utilizing arylthiols/arylselenols at 80 °C. This method provides a metal-free benign route for the synthesis of a variety of arylhydrazones embedded with diverse diaryl sulfide and selenide moieties in good to excellent yield. In this reaction, molecular I2 acts as a catalyst, and DMSO is utilized as a mild oxidant as well as solvent to produce several sulfenyl and selenyl arylhydrazones through a CDC-mediated catalytic cycle.

Abstract
In this work, a sulfonic acid-functionalized magnetic separable solid acid (Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H) was synthesized, characterized, and tested for fructose conversion to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF). Results indicated that the prepared catalyst had a good efficacy for fructose dehydration to HMF due to its larger specific surface area, appropriate acid amount and homogeneous acid distribution. The maximum HMF yield of this work was 96.1 mol%. It was obtained at 120 °C for 1.5 h with 100 mol% fructose conversion. More importantly, the produced HMF could be further in-situ oxidized into 2,5-diformylfuran (DFF) after the replacing of the Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H with a ZnFeRuO4 catalyst, and the highest DFF yield of 90.2 mol% (based on initial fructose) was obtained after reaction another 8.5 h. The production of DFF from fructose through the above two consecutive steps avoids the intermediate HMF separation, which saves time and energy. In addition, both Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H and ZnFeRuO4 catalysts exhibited satisfied stability in the recycling experiments, which can be reused at least for five times with the HMF and DFF yield loss<5.3% and 3.3%, respectively. Finally, the plausible reaction mechanisms for fructose conversion to HMF or DFF over Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H or/and ZnFeRuO4 catalysts were also proposed in this work.

Abstract
In current decades, the fabrication and design of magnetic biocatalysts have been advancing as green catalysts. Hence, in this paper, we use the apple seed starch to create indium(III) immobilized on Fe3O4@apple seed starch core-shell magnetic nanocatalyst (Fe3O4@apple seed starch-In(III)). The prepared catalyst was identified and evaluated with several analysis techniques. The application of this catalyst in the synthesis of isochromeno[4,3-c]pyrazole-5(1H)-one derivates under solvent-free conditions was a new approach with high efficiency. Due to the magnetic nature of the catalyst, the catalyst separation from the reaction medium is easy, and it is reusable for five runs without significant change in catalytic activity. The fabrication of this catalyst is based on green chemistry principles and is more economical and stable than other catalysts in the synthesis of pyrazole-fused isocoumarins heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract
Ninhydrin (1,2,3-indanetrione hydrate) has a remarkable breadth in different fields, including organic chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry and the forensic sciences. For the past several years, it has been considered an important building block in organic synthesis. Therefore, there is increasing interest in ninhydrin-based multicomponent reactions to rapidly build versatile scaffolds. Most of the works described here are simple reactions with readily available starting materials that result in complex molecular architectures. Some of the synthesized compounds exhibit interesting biological activities and constitute a new hope for anticancer agents. The present review aims to highlight the multicomponent reactions of ninhydrin towards diverse organic molecules during the period from 2014 to 2019. This article aims to review recent multicomponent reactions of ninhydrin towards diverse organic scaffolds, such as indeno-fused heterocycles, spiro-indeno heterocycles, quinoxalines, propellanes, cage-like compounds, and dispiro heterocycles.![]()

Abstract
Magnetically separable Brønsted acidic catalysts combine the advantages of
high efficiency of homogeneous Brønsted acidic catalyst with the ease of magnetic
separation from the reaction medium. In addition to their ease of separation, the
magnetically separable Brønsted acidic catalysts also possess high stability towards air
and moisture, facile functionalization and tunable hydrophobic properties. This review
portrays the applications of sulfonic acid anchored γ -Fe2O3 or Fe3O4 nanoparticles,
magnetic core encapsulated acid functionalized silica or mesoporous nanoparticles,
functionalized ionic liquid coated acidic magnetically separable nanoparticles and
miscellaneous magnetically separable Brønsted acidic nanoparticles in diverse organic
transformations. In addition, the merits of magnetically separable Brønsted acid
nanocatalyst are also summarized and compared with the traditional homogeneous/heterogeneous Brønsted
acidic catalysts.
