Abstract
Different enantiomer forms of amino acids play different roles in multifarious fields, and improper use will cause irreversible effects. Therefore, the identification of chiral amino acids is a vital issue in the field of pharmaceutical analysis. Herein, a chiral sensing system of β-cyclodextrin coated silver nanoparticle (β-CD@AgNPs) with peroxidase-like activity was designed for the fast and efficient colorimetric identification of tryptophan (Trp) enantiomers based on the difference in binding capacity between D/L-Trp and β-CD. The results showed the satisfactory linearity for detecting D/L-Trp over the concentration range from 0.2 to 4 mM with a LOD of 0.16 and 0.18 mM, respectively. Moreover, the absorbance increased linearly with the rise of D-Trp concentration percentage in the Trp enantiomer mixture. The proposed method avoided the use of natural enzymes and improved the stability due to the protective effect of cyclodextrin, which provided a new idea for selective colorimetric recognition and detection of D/L-Trp based on cyclodextrin.

Abstract
Obtaining optically pure compounds in an eco-friendly and cost-efficient manner plays an important role in human health and pharmaceutical industry. Racemic separation using multistage stereoselective liquid-liquid extraction has become one of the most practical and effective approach to access homochiral enantiomers. Currently, chiral ionic liquids (CILs) with structural designability have become a promising chiral additive and enable them as adjustable candidates for racemic separation. Herein, a high-effective stereoselective liquid-liquid extraction process composed of imidazolium cations and amino acid-derived anions as the chiral additive was established for racemic 2-cyclohexylmandelic acid (CHMA) separation. We have systematically investigated the choice of organic solvent, concentration of CIL, extraction temperature, and the pH of aqueous phase. For three-stage stereoselective extraction, the maximum enantiomeric excess (e.e.) for CHMA was reached up to 40.6%. Furthermore, the mechanism of steric effect and stereoselective capacity between the CILs and racemic CHMA was discussed and simulated. We envision that the work will facilitate the development of CILs in multistage liquid-liquid extraction and promote the large-scale production of optically pure enantiomers.

Abstract
Homochiral MOF membranes offer a promising route to efficient chiral separation, but their fabrication remains challenging. Here, we report for the first time the design and preparation of homochiral polycrystalline MOF-808 membranes for the first time. The membrane exhibits a high integrity and thin membrane thickness. Achieving homochirality through chiral amino acid postsynthetic modification, MOF-808 membranes demonstrate remarkable solvent stability. Notably, they successfully separated racemic naproxen enantiomers, achieving enantiomeric excess (ee) values of up to ∼95.0%. This work paves the way for turning achiral polycrystalline MOF membranes into high-performance chiral membranes for enantioselective separation.

Abstract
Chiral recognition of amino acid plays a significant role in pharmaceutical, medical, and food science. This study describes a chiral sensing system of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD)-coated sulfur quantum dots (CD-SQDs) for the selective fluorescence recognition of tryptophan (Trp) enantiomers. CD-SQDs were prepared by a facile assembly fission method and could selectively recognize L-Trp by the different binding ability between L/D-Trp and β-CD. The inclusion of L-Trp and the stereoselective catalysis of CD-SQDs enzyme mimics cause the increased fluorescence intensity of CD-SQDs, which has a linear response ranging from 10 to 500 nM and the detection limit as 2.3 nM. CD-SQDs also show great selectivity for L-Trp from the commercial compound amino acid injection. The study could provide an effective method for the chiral recognition of amino acid enantiomers based on the catalytic activity of nanoenzymes.

Abstract
The cooperative relationship between biomolecules and nanomaterials makes up a beautiful tale about nanoscale chiral sensing and separation. Biomolecules are considered a fabulous chirality 'donor' to develop chiral sensors and separation systems. Nature has endowed biomolecules with mysterious chirality. Various nanomaterials with specific physicochemical attributes can realize the transmission and amplification of this chirality. We focus on highlighting the advantages of combining biomolecules and nanomaterials in nanoscale chirality. To enhance the sensors' detection sensitivity, novel cooperation approaches between nanomaterials and biomolecules have attracted tremendous attention. Moreover, innovative biomolecule-based nanocomposites possess great importance in developing chiral separation systems with improved assay performance. This review describes the formation of a network based on nanomaterials and biomolecules mainly including DNA, proteins, peptides, amino acids, and polysaccharides. We hope this tale will record the perpetual relation between biomolecules and nanomaterials in nanoscale chirality.

Abstract
A water-soluble negative sulfonic propyl ether β-CD polymer (SPE-β-CDP) to be used as chiral selector in capillary electrophoresis (CE) was polymerized. The sulfonic substitution degree of each β-CD in SPE-β-CDP was statistically homogenized. The only one negative peak in electrophoretogram with indirect ultraviolate method proved its uniformity of electrophoretic behavior. There were 7.12 sulfonic substitution in β-CD unit and 164 μmole β-CD units in each gram of SPE-β-CDP, which corresponded a molecular weight of 7000 or more. Compared with monomer, SPE-β-CDP was lower effect on electrical current of CE, indicating a high concentration of SPE-β-CDP could be added. Its separation ability was verified by 12 chiral drugs. SPE-β-CDP also showed advantages of good water solubility, easy preparation and recovery to reduce the overall cost. However, five of 12 chiral drugs were hardly to be fully separated which was normal for any kind of chiral selector. A newly adjustable gravity mediated capillary electrophoresis (AGM-CE) technology was proposed and combined with SPE-β-CDP to enhance the chiral separation efficiencies of propranolol, salbutamol, omeprazole, ofloxacin and phenoxybenzamine which were markedly improved to 3.02, 1.17, 7.63, 4.14, and 2.81, respectively. Furthermore, its gradient mode (AGMg-CE) was also used to improve resolution through utilizing the zero mobility point, at which the effective apparent mobility of one racemate was zero. Resolutions of five chiral drugs were significantly improved, especially resolution of carvedilol changed from 0.43 to 1.0. These indicated SPE-β-CDP as chiral selector, AGM-CE and AGMg-CE as new CE technologies had a great potential in chiral separation.

Abstract
Enantioseparation by the electromigration-based method is well-established and widely discussed in the literature. Electrophoretic strategies have been used to baseline resolve complex enantiomeric mixtures, typically using a selector substance into the background electrolyte (BGE) from capillaries to microchips. Along with developing new materials/substances for enantioseparations, it is the concern about the green analytical chemistry (GAC) principles for method development and application. This review article brings a last decade's update on the publications involving enantioseparation by electrophoresis for capillary and microchip systems. It also brings a critical discussion on GAC principles and new green metrics in the context of developing an enantioseparation method. Chemical and green features of native and modified cyclodextrins are discussed. Still, given the employment of greener substances, ionic liquids and deep-eutectic solvents are highlighted, and some new selectors are proposed. For all the mentioned selectors, green features about their production, application, and disposal are considered. Sample preparation and BGE composition in GAC perspective, as well as greener derivatization possibilities, were also addressed. Therefore, one of the goals of this review is to aid the electrophoretic researchers to look where they have not.

Abstract
In the current work, an enantioselective imprinting technique was used to develop a very selective adsorbent for the (+)-cathine ((+)-Cat) enantiomer. The phenolic sulfonamide produced from 2,4-dihydroxybenzenesulfonic acid (HBS) and (+)-Cat ((+)-Cat-HBS) was initially synthesized by triphenylphosphene activation and subsequently involved in condensation polymerization with resorcinol in the presence of formaldehyde under acidic conditions. Alkaline sulfonamide bond-breaking was subsequently employed to separate the (+)-Cat template from the polymer, and the resulting imprinted resin ((+)-CIP) displayed high selectivity for the (+)-Cat, with a capacity of 225 ± 2 mg/g. Studies of selectivity also showed that the (+)-Cat enantiomer was preferred over its counterpart because of the development of configurationally matching receptors. In addition, the produced resin was used for the enantioresolution of (±)-Cat racemate by column method, yielding a loading supernatant solution with an enantiomeric excess of (+)-Cat 50% and a recovery eluant solution with an excess of (-)-Cat 85%.

Abstract
Metallacycles are a novel class of supramolecular materials with circular structures, internal cavities, and abundant host-guest chemical properties that have exhibited good application prospects in many fields. However, to the best of our knowledge, no research on the use of metallacycles as stationary phases for gas chromatographic (GC) separations has been published yet. In this work, we report for the first time the use of a homochiral metallacycle, [ZnCl2L]2, as a stationary phase for GC separations. [ZnCl2L]2 was synthesized by reaction of (S)-(1-isonicotinoylpyrrolidin-2-yl)methyl-isonicotinate (L) with ZnCl2 via coordination-driven self-assembly. The [ZnCl2L]2-coated column displayed an excellent separation performance not only of organic isomers but also of racemic compounds. Sixteen racemates (including alcohols, esters, amino acid derivatives, ethers, organic acids, and epoxides) and 21 isomeric compounds (including positional, structural, and cis/trans-isomers) were well separated on the [ZnCl2L]2-coated column. Impressively, some racemates were resolved with high resolution values (Rs), including 1,2-butanediol diacetate (Rs = 25.86), ethyl 3-hydroxybutyrate (Rs = 20.97), 1,3-butanediol diacetate (Rs = 18.09), and threonine derivative (Rs = 18.61). Compared with the commercial β-DEX 120 column for separation of the tested racemates, the [ZnCl2L]2-coated column exhibited good enantioseparation complementarity, enabling separation of some racemates that could not be separated, or were not well resolved, by the β-DEX 120 column. In addition, many organic mixtures, such as n-alkanes, alkylbenzenes, n-alcohols, and a Grob test mixture, were also well separated on the [ZnCl2L]2-coated column. The column also has good reproducibility and thermal stability on separation. This work not only reveals the great potential of metallacycles for GC separations but also opens up a new application of metallacycles in separation science.

Abstract
Herein, a chiral multishelled mesoporous carbon nanospheres (MCNs) with unique spiral multishelled hollow mesoporous chiral structure is synthesized; the MCNs can be used as stationary phases for high-resolution gas chromatography (GC) and have good separation capacity. The successful preparation of MCNs is verified by a variety of characterizations. In addition, the MCNs-coated capillary column shows excellent separation performance for n-alkanes, n-alcohols, aromatic compounds, and esters, and it has a faster analysis time than the HP-5 commercial capillary column. The chromatography separation performance for various isomers and racemates of the MCNs stationary phase was evaluated, and it showed good separation capability for amino acid derivatives. The MCNs-coated capillary column has been demonstrated to present good reproducibility and stability. In summary, all of the chromatography experiments in this work indicate that this new stationary phase of the MCNs has good application potential for GC capillary separation.

Abstract
Chiral recognition of enantiomers has always been a thorny issue since they exhibit the same properties under an achiral environment. Herein, polydopamine-functionalized magnetic particles (MP@PDA) were synthesized to immobilize the genetically engineered bacterium Escherichia coli DH5α (MP@PDA-E. coli). L-tryptophan (Trp) instead of D-Trp can be stereo-specifically degraded by tryptophanase in E. coli. The degradation product indole reacts with 4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde to generate a rose-red adduct. Thus, MP@PDA-E. coli was employed to fabricate a chiral colorimetric method for chiral recognition and determination of L-Trp. The method averts the purification of tryptophanase. More importantly, tryptophanase demonstrates excellent enantioselective ability for L-Trp. The method can not only quantitatively detect L-Trp but also realize the measurement of the enantiomer percentage in the enantiomeric mixture. The feasibility was verified by detecting L-Trp in millet samples from different origins. Furthermore, a portable device was fabricated to make the method more convenient.

Abstract
Enantiomers show different behaviors in interaction with the chiral environment. Due to their identical chemical structure and their wide application in various industries, such as agriculture, medicine, pesticide, food, and so forth, their separation is of great importance. Today, the term "nano" is frequently encountered in all fields. Technology and measuring devices are moving towards miniaturization, and the usage of nanomaterials in all sectors is expanding substantially. Given that scientists have recently attempted to apply miniaturized techniques known as nano-liquid chromatography/capillary-liquid chromatography, which were originally accomplished in 1988, as well as the widespread usage of nanomaterials for chiral resolution (back in 1989), this comprehensive study was developed. Searching the terms "nano" and "enantiomer separation" on scientific websites such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and Web of Science yields articles that either use miniaturized instruments or apply nanomaterials as chiral selectors with a variety of chemical and electrochemical detection techniques, which are discussed in this article.

Abstract
We developed a novel chiral mass spectrometry derivatization reagent (S)-(3-(4-carboxythiazolidin-3-yl)-3-oxopropyl) diphenylsulfonium (CTOD) with a positively charged sulfur-containing structure for high-sensitivity detection of the chiral resolution of amino acid enantiomers. CTOD reacted with DL-amino acids at 60oC for 60 min to generate the corresponding diastereomers, fifteen chiral amino acid-derived products were separated. Resolution (Rs) values were of the range 1.54-4.36, except Asn 1.07, achieving good separation. A highly sensitive and selective UHPLC-MS/MS method for the simultaneous determination and chiral separation of five chiral amino acids (Pro, Ala, Glu, Asp, and Phe) based on CTOD derivatization was established and applied to the detection of chiral amino acids in different wines. The diastereomeric resolution of the five amino acids was 1.71-5.42, and an excellent linear relationship was obtained in the range of 0.25-500 pmol (R2 ≥0.9993). The detection limit was 0.05-0.25 pmol. The intra- and inter-day precisions were 0.51-5.76% and 0.78-5.18%, respectively, and the average recovery was 90.03-99.99%. In addition, the metabolic concentration of chiral amino acids was monitored after drinking red wine and white wine, and the fitting curve of metabolic concentration was drawn.

Abstract
The chirality of molecules is a concept that explains the interactions in nature. We may observe the same formula but different organizations revolving around the chiral center. Since Pasteur's meticulous observation of sodium ammonium tartrate crystals' structure, scientists have discovered many features of chiral molecules. The number of newly approved single enantiomeric drugs increases every year and takes place in the market. Thus, separation or resolution methods of racemic mixtures are of continued importance in the efficacy of drugs, installation of affordable production processes, and convenient synthetic chemistry practice. This article presents the asymmetric synthesis approaches and the classification of direct resolution methods of chiral molecules.

Abstract
A new type of photonic crystal gel molecularly imprinted sensor (MIPHs) was synthesized for the visible chiral recognition of amino acids. The color of MIPHs was changed from green to red when it exposured to various l-pyroglutamic acid concentration (0.05-1.0mmoL/L). Thanks to sensitive reflectance of photonic crystal and high selectivity of MIPs, the constructed MIPHs exhibited good performance towards l-pyroglutamic acid in terms of fast response time (3 min) and low detection limit (LOD) (2.4 μmol/L). Besides, MIPHs was found to have good selectivity toward l-pyroglutamic acid in the presence of interference group with similar structures such as d-pyroglutamic acid, l-tryptophan, l-phenylalanine, and l-proline. In light of these findings, the MIPHs can be used for highly selective recognition of l-pyroglutamic acid. It is expected that our work is able to provide a new roadmap for the chiral identification and separation of amino acids.

Abstract
Chiral compounds have similar structures and properties, but their pharmacological action is very different or even opposite. Therefore, the separation of chiral compounds has great significance in pharmaceutical and agriculture. Porous organic materials are novel crystalline porous materials, which possess high surface area, controllable pore size, and favorable functionalization. Therefore, porous organic materials are considered to be an ideal material for chiral separation. In this review, we summarized the progress of chiral porous organic materials for chiral separation in recent years. Furthermore, the applications of chiral porous organic materials as chiral separation medias (chromatography stationary phases and membrane materials) in enantioseparation were highlighted. Finally, the remaining challenges and future directions for porous organic materials in chiral separation were also briefly outlined further to promote the development of porous organic materials in chiral separation.

Abstract
A chromatographic technique based on a chiral stationary phase (CSP) has been explored for enantioseparation. Herein, poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (poly(GMA)) brushes were grafted on the surface of silica gel via surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI-ATRP), followed by the introduction of vancomycin as a chiral selector. The as-synthesized material was characterized by elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), proving the formation of vancomycin-immobilized brushes. Then the resulting CSP was explored to separate 7 racemic drugs (bicalutamide, 1-benzyl-5-phenylbarbituric acid, chlorpheniramine maleate, fluoxetine hydrochloride, verapamil hydrochloride, benzoxazocine hydrochloride and isoprenaline hydrochloride) in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Several factors affecting the enantioseparation performance of the vancomycin-immobilized CSP, including the triethylamine (TEA) content in the buffer, pH value, content of organic solvent in the mobile phase, flow rate and injection volume, were mainly optimized. Under the optimal conditions, baseline separation of fluoxetine hydrochloride (RS = 2.52) was achieved, which was better than that on a commercial Chirobiotic V column, while enantioseparation of bicalutamide (RS = 1.01), chlorpheniramine maleate (RS = 0.77), 1-benzyl-5-phenylbarbituric acid (RS = 0.67), isoprenaline hydrochloride (RS = 0.73), verapamil hydrochloride (RS = 0.91) and benzoxazocine hydrochloride (RS = 1.03) was partly achieved. It was concluded that SI-ATRP is a robust way to fabricate vancomycin-based CSPs for enantioseparation.

Abstract
Chiral pesticides with S atoms as asymmetric centers are gaining great importance in the search for new pesticides with new modes of action. As for the rest of the chiral pesticides, the determination of the stereoisomers separately has become crucial in the environmental risks assessment of these pesticides. Therefore, the development of suitable extraction and clean-up methods as well as efficient stereoselective analytical techniques for stereoisomers determination in environmental samples is essential. Currently, liquid/solid phase extraction, microextraction, and QuEChERS-based methods are most commonly used to obtain chiral pesticides from environmental samples. Gas, liquid, and supercritical fluid chromatography together with capillary electrophoresis techniques are the most important for the determination of the stereoisomers of chiral pesticides containing S atoms in its structure. In this study, all these techniques are briefly reviewed, and the advantages and disadvantages of each are discussed

Surface-up construction of quinine bridged functional cyclodextrin for single-column versatile enantioseparation. J Chromatogr A 2021; 1664:462786. Abstract
Seeking for single-column versatile chiral separation methodology is the ultimate goal for analysts engrossed in enantioseparation. However, the versatility and selectivity are always contradictory due to negative influence among the recognition domains and the relatively low surface concentrations in a limited support surface area. Herein, we reported a novel series of quinine (QN) bridged cyclodextrin (CD) chiral stationary phases (CSPs) with satisfied surface concentration of both selectors, prepared via a facile surface-up 'thiol-ene click' approach, where QN and CD can not only nicely exhibit their individual resolution capability but also afford possible synergism in resolving difficult-to-separate analytes. QN bridged phenylcarbamoylated CD CSP exhibits powerful resolution ability by positive combining the resolving ability of QN and functional CD and achieves the resolution of almost a double number of racemates over QN or CD CSPs. Meanwhile, it exhibits comparable and even better chiral selectivity over the widely used chemical-bonded chiral column (CHIRALPAK® IA, CHIRALPAK® IB and CHIRALPAK® IC of Daicel) for the studied analytes. This work thus advances the duplex QN-CD structure as a relatively versatile platform for chiral resolution and commendably promotes the design of functional CSPs with chiral molecular bridge.

Abstract
This work reports a selective and inert triptycene-based stationary phase (TPT) combining the triptycene framework with tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate (TPGS) units for capillary gas chromatography (GC). The TPT stationary phase was physically coated onto a capillary column by static coating method with the column efficiency of 4200 plates/m and moderate polarity. As demonstrated, the TPT column exhibited high inertness towards organic bases, including basic heterocycles, aliphatic and aromatic amines, showing distinct advantages over the TPGS and commercial columns. Also, the TPT column displayed high-resolution performance towards the isomers of methylpyridines, toluidines, xylidines and alkanes (C6-C8). Moreover, it showed excellent separation repeatability and reproducibility with RSD values in the range of 0.03%-0.07% for run-to-run, 0.12%-0.18% for day-to-day and 2.3%-3.6% for column-to- column (n = 4). Its applications to purity test of chemical products and to GC-MS analysis of the essential oil of Artemisia annua L. demonstrated its good potential for practical analyses. The present work has novelty in constructing highly selective and inert stationary phases and providing a feasible strategy for concurrently addressing the related problems in GC analyses. Its methodology and findings is of important value in terms of fundamental researches and practical applications.

Abstract
Like many biological compounds, proteins are found primarily in their homochiral form. However, homochirality is not guaranteed throughout life. Determining their chiral proteinogenic sequence is a complex analytical challenge. This is because certain d-amino acids contained in proteins play a role in human health and disease. This is the case, for example, with d-Asp in elastin, β-amyloid and α-crystallin which, respectively, have an action on arteriosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease and cataracts. Sequence-dependent and sequence-independent are the two strategies for detecting the presence and position of d-amino acids in proteins. These methods rely on enzymatic digestion by a site-specific enzyme and acid hydrolysis in a deuterium or tritium environment to limit the natural racemization of amino acids. In this review, chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques, such as LC, SFC, GC and CE, will be recently developed (2018–2020) for the enantioseparation of amino acids and peptides. For future work, the discovery and development of new chiral stationary phases and derivatization reagents could increase the resolution of chiral separations.

Abstract
Chirality is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of living organisms in nature. Magnetic materials, in particular magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), show some interesting properties such as large specific surface area, easy surface modification, magnetic responsivity and separation ability. Integrating MNPs with chirality in a single material will undoubtedly create a large number of advanced multi-functional materials. Despite the great advancements made in this area, there have been no review articles to summarize the relevant studies. The present work reviews the major progress recently made in constructing chiral magnetic hybrid materials (CMHMs) using macromolecules, which are classified based on the primary chiral macromolecular organic components, namely, biological polymers and synthetic polymers, and the applications of the resulting chiral hybrids in chiral research fields, including asymmetric catalysis, enzymatic resolution, chromatographic separation, enantioselective crystallization and enantioselective adsorption, are also summarized. The challenges and prospects of related research fields are proposed in the last section.

Abstract
Ionic chiral selectors have been received much attention in the field of asymmetric catalysis, chiral recognition, and preparative separation. It has been shown that the addition of ionic chiral selectors can enhance the recognition efficiency dramatically due to the presence of multiple intermolecular interactions, including hydrogen bond, π-π interaction, van der Waals force, electrostatic ion-pairing interaction, and ionic-hydrogen bond. In the initial research stage of the ionic chiral selectors, most of work center on the application in chromatographic separation (capillary electrophoresis, high-performance liquid chromatography, and gas chromatography). Differently, more and more attention has been paid on the spectroscopy (nuclear magnetic resonance, fluorescence, ultraviolet and visible absorption spectrum, and circular dichroism spectrum) and electrochemistry in recent years. In this tutorial review as regards the ionic chiral selectors, we discuss in detail the structural features, properties, and their application in chromatography, spectroscopy, and electrochemistry.

Abstract
Enantiomeric drugs are widely used and play important roles in pharmaceuticals. Ion mobility spectrometry coupled with mass spectrometry technology provides a unique method for distinguishing the enantiomeric drugs, enantiomeric identification, and quantitation in the gas phase. In this study, enantiomeric molecules of ibuprofen and flurbiprofen were clearly recognized by forming host-guest complex ions using trapped ion mobility time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Ternary complex ions can be produced easily by electrospray ionization of the mixed solutions of ibuprofen, cyclodextrins, and CaCl2 , LiCl, or NaCl, as well as flurbiprofen, cyclodextrins, and CaCl2 . The relative contents of different chiral ibuprofens in a mixed solution were also quantitatively measured. This new method is a simple, effective, and a convenient enantioselective analysis method.

Abstract
Chirality control plays a critical role in developing stereoisomeric drugs. Due to the complexity and lack of predictability in chiral separations, column screening remains the gold standard to initiate chiral method development for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and synthetic intermediates. Chiral reversed-phase (RP) liquid chromatography (LC) has gained favor over other modes due to its versatility and compatibility in analyzing a wide range of chiral compounds in various matrices. Herein, we established a tier-based chiral RPLC screen strategy by constructing and analyzing a database of 101 chiral screens with a total of 3,401 entries (unique LC runs) for proprietary APIs or intermediates at Bristol Myers Squibb. Up to 17 polysaccharide-based chiral stationary phases (CSPs) and four mobile phases (MPs) have been screened with gradient elution. A selection of ten CSPs with two MPs was found sufficient to achieve successful separation for 82% of the total screens. Two RPLC screen tiers (Tier 1: AZ, OD, ID, and IG) and (Tier 2: AY, OJ, OZ, IA, IC, and IH) were proposed along with two MPs (acidic and neutral) to target ~70% hit rate for Tier 1, and ~80% for the combined set. We also implemented a user-friendly workflow to enable walk-up chiral RPLC screening with automated reports and system suitability tests.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are highly ordered framework systems composed of metal centers and organic linkers formed through coordination bonds. The diversity of metal elements and easily modified organic ligands, together with controllable synthetic approaches, gives rise to the designability of various MOF structures and topologies and the capability of MOFs to be functionalized. Their structural diversity provides MOFs with many unique properties, such as permanent porosity, flexible structures, thermostability, and high adsorption capacity, leading to great practicability in technical applications. In this review, we concentrate on the applications of MOFs in the field of gas chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, and the enrichment of biomolecules, based on rational arrangements in the structures and functions of MOFs. Moreover, we emphasize the importance of structural and chemical regulations for the improvement of separation efficiency.

Abstract
With the rapid development of global industry and increasingly frequent product circulation, the separation and detection of chiral drugs/pesticides are becoming increasingly important. The chiral nature of substances can result in harm to the human body, and the selective endocrine-disrupting effect of drug enantiomers is caused by differential enantiospecific binding to receptors. This review is devoted to the specific recognition and resolution of chiral molecules by chromatography and membrane-based enantioseparation techniques. Chromatographic enantiomer separations with chiral stationary phase (CSP)-based columns and membrane-based enantiomer filtration are detailed. In addition, the unique properties of these chiral resolution methods have been summarized for practical applications in the chemistry, environment, biology, medicine, and food industries. We further discussed the recognition mechanism in analytical enantioseparations and analyzed recent developments and future prospects of chromatographic and membrane-based enantioseparations.

Abstract
Enantioresolution processes are vital tools for investigating the enantioselectivities of chiral compounds. An analyst resolves to optimize enantioresolution conditions once they are determined. Generally, optimization is conducted by a one-factor-at-a-time (OFAT) approach. Although this approach may determine an adequate condition for the method, it does not often allow the estimation of the real optimum condition. Experimental designs are conducive for the optimization of enantioresolution methods via capillary electromigration techniques (CETs). They can efficiently extract information from the behavior of a method and enable the estimation of the real optimum condition. Furthermore, the application of the analytical quality by design (AQbD) approach to the development of CET-based enantioselective methods is a trend. This article (i) offers an overview of the application of experimental designs to the development of enantioselective methods from 2015 to mid-2020, (ii) reveals the experimental designs that are presently employed in CET-based enantioresolutions, and (iii) offers a critical point of view on how the different experimental designs can aid the optimization of enantioresolution processes by considering the method parameters.
