Abstract
In vivo assays of graphene and its derivatives are big challenges in biological evaluations because they require simultaneous long-term stability in aqueous dispersion and controllable systemic toxicity. Bifunctional graphene nanosheets which have key function in biomedical area are expected to address this challenge. Here, novel bifunctional graphene nanosheets were successfully synthesized in the presence of Herceptin, a natural antibody, using a facile ultrasonic-assisted method. Graphite layers were successfully exfoliated which resulted excellent stability of separated layers in herceptin solution. In aqueous solution, graphene concentration was effectively controlled by varying the herceptin content and sonication time. Furthermore, the toxicity of graphene was tested in both 2D and 3D spheroid cultures. The results showed that graphene toxicity were considerably reduced in spheroid culture compared to the 2D culture data. Moreover, the toxicity behavior of graphene was dependent on the exposed concentration of graphene that the mortality rate was significantly decreased when the concentration of graphene was below 1 µg/mL. This bifunctional graphene which possessed long-term stability in aqueous solutions and induced slight toxicity offers a promising nanostructure in tumor-targeted drug delivery, regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. This proof-of-concept study demonstrates the feasibility of ultrasonic assisted method in one-step synthesis of bifunctional nanomaterials and biostructures for clinical applications.

Abstract
Four nanostructural nickel(II) coordination polymers {[Ni(ttpa)(1,4-ndc)(H2O)2]·2H2O}n (1), {[Ni(ttpa)(1,3-bda)]·2H2O·DMF}n (2·2H2O·DMF), {[Ni(ttpa)(1,4-bdc)]·H2O}n (3) and {[Ni(ttpa)(aip)(H2O)]·3H2O}n (4·3H2O) were synthesized using hydrothermal and sonochemical methods (ttpa = tris(4-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)phenyl)amine, 1,4-ndc = 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylate, 1,3-bda = 1,3-benzenediacetate, 1,4-bdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate, aip = 5-aminoisophthalate), and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, scanning electron microscopy, single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis, optical band gaps, VB XPS spectra and luminescence. The effects of sonication power, time and frequency on the size and morphology of nano-sized 1-4 have been studied. 1 exhibits an unusual 2D + 2D → 3D inclined polycatenated motif based on the (3,3)-coordinated 63-hcb topology. 2 shows a (3,4)-coordinated 2D network of the bey topology. 3 presents a rare example of the 4-fold interpenetrating array of (3,5)-coordinated 3D network belonging to the 35T1 topology type. 4 displays an unusual 2D → 3D polythreaded network based on 2D sql networks. 1-4 exhibit luminescent emissions at 409, 399, 413 and 402 nm, respectively. 1-4 are semiconducting in nature, with Eg of 2.12 eV (1), 2.34 eV (2), 2.32 eV (3), and 2.47 eV (4). 1-4 are good catalysts for the degradation of MB under visible light irradiation. The effects of the size and morphology of nano-sized 1-4 on the photocatalytic efficiencies were studied. The higher sonication frequency obtains uniform and smaller nano-sized coordination polymers which have higher catalytic efficiencies.

Abstract
Two new Ag(I) coordination polymers (CPs), namely, Ag(L)(Htp) (1) and [Ag(L)]·(Htp)·2H2O (2) were synthesized from the long flexible ligand of 1,6-bis(2-methylbenzimidazolyl)hexane (L), terephthalic acid (H2tp) and different silver(I) salts using hydrothermal and sonochemical methods, These CPs were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, scanning electron microscopy, single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis. 1 features a uninodal 3-connected 2D hcb layered structure, while 2 exhibits an infinite 1D linear chain and ultimately extended into 3D supramolecular framework via O-H⋯O and Ag⋯O interactions. In addition, the effect of various sonication concentrations of the initial reagents, ultrasonic time and power of ultrasound irradiation on the size and morphology of nanostructured 1 and 2 were evaluated. Nano-sized 1 and 2 exhibit relatively high performance as UV light driven photocatalysts for the degradation of methylene blue.
