Abstract
Araçá is a native Brazil fruit, and has two morphological types, yellow and red; however, it is still little consumed by the population. Although there are few studies on the araçá fruit, some phytochemical propriety benefits have been described for this plant, such as antioxidant effects. To explore the benefits of araçá fruit, the physicochemical characteristics and in vitro toxicological effects of red and yellow araçá fruit were evaluated. In this work, the toxicity of araçá extracts in NIH/3T3 cell lines, the antiproliferative effects in cancer cell lines (C6, HT-29, and DU149), and the overall antifungal effects were evaluated. The irritant potential of araçá extracts was assessed by the HET-CAM test. The results demonstrated that the fruits are rich in fiber content and showed high phenols content. In addition, the araçá extracts had no present toxicity effects in cell lines; however, the red araçá extracts showed antiproliferative effects in HT-29 cancer cells at 50 mg/mL. The antifungal effects of araçá extract were promising in 23 isolates of Candida spp., and both araçá extracts showed no irritant effects. Therefore, this study demonstrated that red and yellow araçá fruit extract has promising biological and pharmacological effects that should be further explored.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The 2002 World Health Report documented that low fruit and vegetable intake are among the top ten risk factors contributing to attributable mortality and up to three million lives could be saved each year by adequate consumption of F&V across the globe, leading an examination of behavioral preferences of the individual and family social, environmental, and behavioral factors that constitute perceived barriers to fruit and vegetable consumption. OBJECTIVE The study examines factors affecting the choice of eating fruits and vegetables by household members and calculates eating frequency probabilities of different population-origin associated with personal attributes and behavior. METHOD Turkish Health Survey (THS) 2019 data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI) national representative household panel is applied. Estimating a random-effect bivariate probit model of fruit and vegetable choice, we calculated marginal probabilities of choosing fruits and vegetables, the joint probability of choosing both, and conditional probabilities between choosing to eat either, detecting consumption synergy. RESULTS The role of uncontrolled variables in choosing to eat fruits and vegetable (F&V) differs between the decision of an average family and the decision of individual family members. The attitude is positive for an average family and contrasts with the negative attitude among some family members. Most individual and family attributes inversely affect fruit and vegetable choice across different groups, while a positive relationship exists between the likelihood of fruit and vegetable choice and attributes such as age, marital status, education, weight, having health insurance, income, and time and forms of physical activity. CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION Instead of a general policy for the implementation of a healthy and balanced nutrition program to improve fruit and vegetable eating frequency, it appears more effective to adopt programs with distinct characteristics that segregate society into different cohorts. We suggest appropriate policies and offer suitable approaches to reach targeted groups.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Pancreatic cancer is one of the most fatal malignancies and primary prevention strategies are limited. Epidemiological studies focusing on the association between folate intake and pancreatic cancer risk have reported inconsistent findings. METHODS A systematic search of the literature was conducted using the PubMed and EMBASE databases. A systematic review and meta-analysis of eligible studies was performed to assess the association between folate intake and risk of pancreatic cancer. RESULTS A total of 16 studies involving 5654 cases and 1,009,374 individuals were included. The result showed a significant association of folate intake with a decreased risk of pancreatic cancer, with a pooled OR of 0.82 (95% CI: 0.69-0.97, P = 0.019) for the highest category of intake vs. the lowest. The data suggested that high intake of folate may contribute to the prevention of pancreatic cancer. However, the association was observed only in case-control studies (OR = 0.78, 95% CI: 0.65-0.93, P = 0.006), but not in cohort studies (RR = 0.85, 95% CI: 0.66-1.09, P = 0.244). Dose-response meta-analysis showed that an increment of folate intake (100 μg/day) was marginally associated with the risk of pancreatic cancer, with a pooled OR of 0.97 (95% CI: 0.93-1.00, P = 0.053). CONCLUSION High folate intake might be inversely associated with pancreatic cancer risk, which needs to be confirmed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES Poor diet quality has been associated with an increased risk of cancer. Here, we examine the association between dietary patterns derived with two methods, and combined and site-specific cancer incidence in Canada. SUBJECTS/METHODS Dietary data were obtained from participants enrolled in Alberta's Tomorrow Project, a prospective cohort study, between 2000 and 2008. Principle component analysis (PCA) and reduced rank regression (RRR) were used to derive dietary patterns, and data linkage with the Alberta Cancer Registry was used for incident cancer cases. Cox proportional hazard regressions were used to estimate multivariable-adjusted models for the association between each dietary pattern score with combined and site-specific cancer incidence. RESULTS PCA revealed three dietary patterns ("western", "prudent", and "sugar, fruits, and dairy") and RRR resulted in four patterns ("dietary fiber", "vitamin D", "fructose", and "discretionary fat"). Five cancer sites were included in our site-specific analysis: lung, colon, breast, prostate, and endometrial cancers. The most protective dietary patterns for combined cancer sites were the "Prudent" pattern (HR = 0.82, CI = 0.73-0.92) and the "Dietary fiber" pattern (HR = 0.82, CI = 0.69-0.97). The "Fructose" pattern was associated with increased risk of combined cancers (HR = 1.14, CI = 1.02-1.27). Three dietary patterns were protective against colon cancer ("Prudent", "Dietary fiber", and "Discretionary fats"), and other risk reductions were seen for the "sugar, fruit, and dairy" pattern (lung cancer), and the "Dietary fiber" pattern (prostate cancer). CONCLUSIONS These results support cancer prevention strategies for a diet high in vegetables, fruits, fish, and whole grains. Further studies should explore the possible association between discretionary fats and colon cancer.

Abstract
Purpose: We assessed the feasibility and acceptability of a 12-week telehealth behavior change intervention to promote physical activity and fruit and vegetable consumption among rural-living young adult cancer survivors.Methods: Participants met with a health coach once a week for 60 minutes for 12 weeks. Feasibility measures included rates of recruitment, enrollment, attrition, retention, adherence, and missing data. Acceptability was assessed using semi-structured interviews.Findings: Over 1-year, 18 individuals self-referred, 9 were eligible and consented to participate, and 2 dropped out. Retention was 74% and adherence was 95%. Participants considered the length of the intervention, synchronous communication with the health coach, and the distance-based delivery mode to be acceptable. Moreover, participants described key behavior change techniques and recommended minor changes.Implications: Findings provide information that can help refine future trials seeking to increase access to behavior change interventions and optimize participation in health-promoting behaviors for underserved populations.Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov. NCT03691545. Registered on October 1, 2018.

Abstract
In recent years, microporous modified atmosphere packaging has been widely concerned because of its adjustable air permeability and low processing cost. With the development and increasing demand of fresh food industry, the limited permeability of film in modified atmosphere packaging can't meet the fresh-keeping requirements of fresh foods, especially vegetables and fruits. Microporous film can flexibly adjust the gas permeability according to the physiological metabolic characteristics of fresh foods, which has gradually become a fresh-keeping technology in the domain of vegetables and fruits. This paper reviewed the research progress of microporous modified atmosphere packaging and its extension on shelf life of fresh foods. The latest applied researches were described in a comprehensive manner, particularly fruits and vegetables. Besides, this article also covered theoretical support and analysis, including the perforation mode, air permeability mechanism and mathematical model of microporous film, the characteristics of fresh foods, pore parameters and traits of film materials. This paper payed attention to the application of environmentally friendly degradable film materials (biological film materials, nano materials) in fruits and vegetables preservation. Research has shown that the degradable material can enlarge the fresh-keeping effect of microporous modified atmosphere packaging, which is worthy of further research and development. Finally, the development trends and directions in the future were discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Germany is known for its weak tobacco control. We aimed to provide projections of potentially avoidable cancer cases under different tobacco control policy intervention scenarios. METHODS To estimate numbers and proportions of potentially avoidable cancer cases under different policy intervention scenarios (cigarette price increases, comprehensive marketing ban, and plain packaging), we calculated cancer site-specific potential impact fractions by age, sex, and year of study period (2020-2050), considering latency periods between reduction in smoking prevalence and manifestation in declining cancer excess risks. To obtain estimates of future incident case numbers, we assumed a continuation of recent smoking trends, and combined German cancer registry data with forecasted population sizes, published effect sizes, and national daily smoking prevalence data. RESULTS Over a 30-year horizon, an estimated 13.3% (men 14.0% and women 12.2%) of smoking-related cancer cases could be prevented if a combination of different tobacco control policies were to be implemented in Germany, with repeated price increases being the most effective single policy (men 8.5% and women 7.3%). Extensive sensitivity analyses indicated that the model is fairly robust. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest that the expected cancer incidence in Germany could be considerably reduced by implementing tobacco control policies as part of a primary cancer prevention strategy. IMPACT Our straightforward modeling framework enables a comparison of the impact of different health policy measures. To further accelerate the currently observed tentative trend of declining smoking prevalence in Germany and thereby curtail smoking-related cancer incidence, there is a great need to urgently intensify efforts in tobacco control.
