Abstract
Herein, an Au nanoparticles-polydopamine-poly acrylic acid-graphene (Au NPs-PDA-PAA-graphene) multicomponent nanohybrid is fabricated by surface functionalization of graphene alongside extensive in-situ growth of Au nanoparticles. The as-obtained nanocomposite possesses good hydrophilicity, excellent biocompatibility and high biomolecules loading capacity, which acts as an ideal platform for enzyme modification. Considering this fact, Horseradish peroxidase is expressively immobilized upon Au NPs-PDA-PAA-graphene surface, in order to lay the foundations of a biosensor that is majorly based on enzymatic activity. The biosensor exhibits higher sensitivity towards the determination of H2O2 with linearity ranging from 0.1 μm upto 20 mm, and the limit of detection going down to 0.02 μm. Encouraged by its acceptable electrocatalytic performance, this multicomponent system can also be easily employed for carrying out the real-time tracking of H2O2 coming out of Macrophage cells. Therefore, this work designs an extraordinarily updated platform for biosensing related applications, and also presents a reliable platform for the direct detection of H2O2in vivo and in vitro, which show great potential in bioelectroanalytical chemistry, cellular biology, and pathophysiology.

Abstract
Nickel particles alone can oxidize hydrogen peroxide but confronts extreme stability problem which imparts a barrier to act as sensor. The porous Nafion bed on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface provides the sureness of incorporating of Ni particles which was further exploited as an electrochemical sensor for H2O2 detection through oxidative degradation process. The simple electrochemical incorporation of Ni particles along the pores of Nafion improves the stability of the sensor significantly. The oxidative pathway of hydrogen peroxide on GCE/Nafion/Ni was probed by analyzing mass transfer dependent linear sweep voltammograms both in static and rotating modes along with chronoamperometry. An electron transfer step determines the overall reaction rate with k°= 2.72 × 10-4 cm s-1, which is supported by the values of transfer coefficient (β) in between (0.68-0.75). Sensing performance was evaluated by recording differential pulse voltammograms (DPVs) with the linear detection limit (LOD) of 1.8 μM and linear dynamic range (LDR) of 5-500 μM. Real samples from industrial sources were successfully quantified with excellent reproducibility mark GCE/Nafion/Ni electrode as an applicable sensor.

Abstract
This study describes the electrochemical preparation of the electrocatalytic oxidation/reduction of noradrenaline in modified glassy carbon of cobalt ferrite nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes (GC/MWCNT/FCo98). The cobalt ferrite powder was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The optimum conditions found in an electrode composition were 4 μL of cobalt ferrite and 10 μL of carbon nanotubes in 0.1 mol L−1 PBS at pH 7.0. The electrode displays electrochemical behavior in a wide potential range (−0.4 to 1.0 V vs. Ag/AgCl), high conductivity, and electrode stability/durability in 0.1 mol L−1 PBS. Catalytic oxidation of noradrenaline was performed at the unmodified GC electrode at +0.60 V vs. Ag/AgCl and current of 0.17 μA and modified GC with cobalt ferrite nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes at +0.54 V vs. Ag/AgCl and current of 0.23 mA. With regard to the anodic peak current (Ipa) versus noradrenaline concentration by means of the amperometric method at the modified electrode, (which is linear in the 0.16 and 1.91 mmol L−1 concentration range), the concentration limit was 0.76 μmol L−1. In this way, the modified electrode GC/MWCNT/FCo98 was found to be a promising application for the determination of this neurotransmitter in the area of neuroscience.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) graphene, sp2-hybridized carbon, and its two major derivatives, graphene oxide (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) have played an important role in immunoassays (IAs) and immunosensing (IMS) platforms for the detection of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), an implicated tumor biomarker found in several types of cancer. The graphene family with high surface area is functionalized to form stable nanocomposites with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and electron mediators. The capture anti-CEA antibody (Ab) with high density can be anchored on AuNPs of such composites to provide remarkable detection sensitivity, significantly below the level found in normal subjects and cancer patients. Electrochemical and fluorescence/chemiluminescence-quenching properties of graphene-based nanocomposites are exploited in various detection schemes. Future endeavors are envisioned for the development of an array platform with high-throughput for CEA together with other tumor biomarkers and C-reactive protein, a universal biomarker for infection and inflammation. The ongoing efforts dedicated to the replacement of a lab-based detector by a cellphone with smart applications will further enable cost-effective and frequent monitoring of CEA in order to establish its clinical relevance and provide tools for real-time monitoring of patients during chemotherapy.

Abstract
In this paper a three-dimensional (3D) reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and gold (Au) composite was synthesized by electrodeposition and used for the electrode modification with carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE) as the substrate electrode. Myoglobin (Mb) was further immobilized on the surface of 3D RGO-Au/CILE to obtain an electrochemical sensing platform. Direct electrochemistry of Mb on the modified electrode was investigated with a pair of well-defined redox waves appeared on cyclic voltammogram, indicating the realization of direct electron transfer of Mb with the modified electrode. The results can be ascribed to the presence of highly conductive 3D RGO-Au composite on the electrode surface that accelerate the electron transfer rate between the electroactive center of Mb and the electrode. The Mb modified electrode showed excellent electrocatalytic activity to the reduction of trichloroacetic acid in the concentration range from 0.2 to 36.0 mmol/L with the detection limit of 0.06 mmol/L (3σ).

Abstract
This work was undertaken to develop a novel Pt/PANI-co-PDTDA/HRP biosensor system for environmental applications to investigate the inhibition studies by specific heavy metals, to provide data suitable for kinetic studies and further application of the biosensor to environmental samples. The newly constructed biosensor was compared to the data of the well-researched Pt/PANI/HRP biosensor. Optimised experimental conditions, such as the working pH for the biosensor was evaluated. The functionality of the amperometric enzyme sensor system was demonstrated by measuring the oxidation current of hydrogen peroxide followed by the development of an assay for determination of metal concentration in the presence of selected metal ions of Cd(2+), Pb(2+) and Hg(2+). The detection limits were found to be 8 × 10(-4) μg L(-1) for cadmium, 9.38 × 10(-4) μg L(-1) for lead and 7.89 × 10(-4) μg L(-1) for mercury. The World Health Organisation recommended that the maximum safety level of these metals should not exceed 0.005 mg L(-1) of Cd(2+), 0.01 mg L(-1) of Pb(2+) and 0.001 mg L(-1) of Hg(2+.), respectively. The analytical and detection data for the metals investigated were observed to be lower than concentrations recommended by several bodies including World Health Organisation and Environmental Protection Agencies. Therefore the biosensors developed in this study can be used to screen the presence of these metals in water samples because of its low detection limit. The modes of inhibition of horseradish peroxidase by Pb(2+), Cd(2+) and Hg(2+) as analysed using the double reciprocal plots of the Michaelis-Menten equation was found to be reversible and uncompetitive inhibition. Based on the Km(app) and Imax values for both biosensors the results have shown smaller values. These results also proved that the enzyme modified electrode is valuable and can be deployed for the determination or screening of heavy metals.

Abstract
Direct electron transfer of hemoglobin (Hb) was realized by immobilizing Hb on a carboxyl functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (FMWCNTs) and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) nanocomplex-modified glassy carbon electrode. The ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrometry (UV-Vis), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) methods were utilized for additional characterization of the AuNPs and FMWCNTs. The cyclic voltammogram of the modified electrode has a pair of well-defined quasi-reversible redox peaks with a formal potential of −0.270 ± 0.002 V (vs. Ag/AgCl) at a scan rate of 0.05 V/s. The heterogeneous electron transfer constant (ks) was evaluated to be 4.0 ± 0.2 s−1. The average surface concentration of electro-active Hb on the surface of the modified glassy carbon electrode was calculated to be 6.8 ± 0.3 × 10−10 mol cm−2. The cathodic peak current of the modified electrode increased linearly with increasing concentration of hydrogen peroxide (from 0.05 nM to 1 nM) with a detection limit of 0.05 ± 0.01 nM. The apparent Michaelis-Menten constant (Kmapp) was calculated to be 0.85 ± 0.1 nM. Thus, the modified electrode could be applied as a third generation biosensor with high sensitivity, long-term stability and low detection limit.
