Abstract
Substitution reactions of rhenium(V) oxo precursors [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] or [NBu4][ReOCl4] with the bidentate acetylacetone-derived ketoamine ligands APOH = 4-anilino-3-penten-2-one, DPOH = 4-[2,6-dimethylanilino]-3-penten-2-one, and MTPOH = 4-[2-(methylthio)anilino]-3-penten-2-one gave the complexes [ReO(APO)Cl2(PPh3)] (1), [ReO(DPO)Cl2(PPh3)] (2), and [NBu4][ReOLCl3] (3, L = APO; 4, L = DPO; 5, L = MTPO), respectively. All complexes exhibit only one ketoamino chelate, independent of the amount of ligand added to the rhenium precursors. The complexes were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. X-ray crystal structures of the complexes 1, 2, 4, and 5, including that of MTPOH, were determined, revealing the trans position of the two oxygen atoms and the trans-Cl,Cl conformation in 1 and 2, in contrast to most other rhenium complexes of this type where the cis-Cl,Cl conformation is observed. Coordination of the potentially tridentate ligand MTPOH in 5 is bidentate with a dangling thioether substituent. Compound 2 shows catalytic activity in the oxidation of cis-cyclooctene with tert-butylhydroperoxide.

Abstract
A hydrazinonicotinamide-functionalized cyclic platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (GPIIb/IIIa) receptor antagonist [cyclo(D-Val-NMeArg-Gly-Asp-Mamb(5-(6-(6-hydrazinonicotin amido) hexanamide))) (HYNIC-tide)] was labeled with 99mTc using tricine and a water soluble phosphine (TPPTS, trisodium triphenylphosphine-3,3',3"-trisulfonate; TPPDS, disodium triphenylphosphine-3,3'-disulfonate; or TPPMS, sodium triphenylphosphine-3-monosulfonate] as coligands. The synthesis of technetium complexes, [99mTc(HYNICtide)(L)(tricine)] (1, L = TPPTS; 2, L = TPPDS; 3, L = TPPMS), can be performed in one or two steps in high yield and with high specific activity (> or = 20,000 Ci/mmol). For example, the reaction of the HYNICtide, [99mTc]pertechnetate, stannous chloride, and tricine at pH 4-5 and room temperature results in the complex [99mTc(HYNICtide)(tricine)2], which reacts with TPPTS (50 degrees C for 30 min) to give complex 1 in > or = 90% yield as determined by radio-HPLC. Complexes 1-3 are formed as equal mixtures of two isomeric forms and are stable for > or = 6 h in the reaction mixture and in dilute solution. Both isomeric forms of complex 1 were found by a platelet-binding assay to contain the 99mTc-labeled HYNICtide and possess biological activity. The composition of these complexes was determined to be 1:1:1:1 for Tc:HYNICtide:L:tricine through a series of mixed ligand experiments on the tracer (99mTc) level. Surprisingly, this composition is maintained over a wide range of relative ligand ratios. The relative bonding capability of the three phosphine coligands to the Tc was determined by spiking various amounts of TPPDS or TPPMS into TPPTS and falls in the order TPPMS > TPPDS > TPPTS. The lipophilicity of the [99m Tc]HYNICtide complexes can be systematically varied by the choice of the phosphine and aminocarboxylate coligands. Using the combination of tricine and a phosphine ligand, HYNIC-derivatized peptides or other small molecules can be labeled with 99mTc in high specific activity and with high stability for potential use as radiopharmaceuticals.

Abstract
The simultaneous action of the tridentate ligand (C(2)H(5))(2)NCH(2)CH(2)N(CH(2)CH(2)SH)(2) and the monodentate coligand HSC(6)H(4)OCH(3) on a suitable ReO(3+) precursor results in a mixture of syn- and anti-oxorhenium complexes, ReO[(C(2)H(5))(2)NCH(2)CH(2)N(CH(2)CH(2)S)(2)] [SC(6)H(4)OCH(3)], in a ratio of 25/1. The complexes are prepared by a ligand exchange reaction using ReO(eg)(2) (eg = ethylene glycol), ReOCl(3)(PPh(3))(2), or Re(V)-citrate as precursor. Both complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-vis, X-ray crystallography, and NMR spectroscopy. The syn isomer C(17)H(29)N(2)O(2)S(3)Re crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, a = 14.109(4) Å, b = 7.518(2) Å, c = 20.900(5) Å, beta = 103.07(1) degrees, V = 2159.4(9) Å(3), Z = 4. The anti isomer C(17)H(29)N(2)O(2)S(3)Re crystallizes in P2(1)/n, a = 9.3850(7) Å, b = 27.979(2) Å, c = 8.3648(6) Å, beta = 99.86(1) degrees, V = 2163.9(3) Å(3), Z = 4. Complete NMR studies show that the orientation of the N substituent chain with respect to the Re=O core greatly influences the observed chemical shifts. Complexes were also prepared at the tracer ((186)Re) level by using (186)Re-citrate as precursor. Corroboration of the structure at tracer level was achieved by comparative HPLC studies.
