Abstract
A new tripodal trisamidophosphine ligand (1) based on the trisbenzylphosphine backbone has been synthesized in three steps starting from NaPH2 and phthaloyl-protected 2-aminobenzyl bromide. At elevated temperatures, 1 reacts directly with M(NMe2)4 (M = Zr, Hf) to afford the dimethylamido complexes [PN3]M(NMe2) (M = Zr, Hf) (2), which are easily converted into the corresponding triflates [PN3]MOTf (M = Zr, Hf) (3) via reaction with triethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate. The related titanium chloro complex [PN3]TiCl (4-Ti) is obtained from 1 and Bn3TiCl via protonolysis. Triple deprotonation of 1 with n-butyllithium affords the tris-lithium salt Li3[PN3] (1-Li), which serves as a common starting material for the preparation of all the group(IV) chlorides [PN3]MCl (M = Ti, Zr, Hf) (4). Upon treatment of 4-Ti with Bn2Mg(thf)2, formation of a benzyltitanium species is observed, which is converted cleanly into a ligand-CH-activated species (5-Ti).

Abstract
A pyridine-linked bis(aniline) pincer ligand, [2]H(2) ([2]H(2) = (2,6-NC(5)H(3)(2-(2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2))-NHC(6)H(4))(2)), has been synthesized in two steps. Deprotonation with Me(3)SiCH(2)Li followed by metalation with FeCl(2) yielded a LiCl adduct of [2]Fe. The complex is freed of LiCl with excess TlPF(6) or by crystallization from toluene/petroleum ether, giving [2]Fe(THF). [2]Fe(THF) reacts with I(2) and O(2) to generate [2]FeI and ([2]Fe)(2)O, respectively. The complexes have been characterized by (1)H NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, X-ray crystallography, and UV-vis spectroscopy. [2]Fe(THF) has been examined using cyclic voltammetry.

Abstract
The syntheses of two phenylamine-based ligand systems, N(o-PhNH(2))(3) and N(o-PhNHC(O)(i)Pr)(3), are reported. These ligands readily coordinate to Co(II) to form monomeric complexes. X-ray diffraction studies establish that the [N(o-PhNC(O)(i)Pr)(3)](3-) ligand stabilizes the Co(II) ion in a trigonal-monopyramidal coordination environment. The axial coordination site in this complex is accessible and, upon cyanide coordination, generates an electrochemically active species.

Abstract
A series of [Tm(Me)M(mu-Cl)]2 and Tm(R)MCl (Tm(R) = tris(mercaptoimidazolyl)borate; R = Me, tBu, Ph, 2,6-iPr2C6H3 (Ar); M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) complexes have been prepared by treatment of NaTm(Me) or LiTm(R) with an excess amount of metal(II) chlorides, MCl2. Treatment of Tm(R)MCl (R = tBu, Ph, Ar) with NaI led to a halide exchange to afford Tm(R)MI. The molecular structures of [Tm(Me)M(mu-Cl)]2 (M = Mn, Ni), [Tm(Me)Ni(mu-Br)]2, Tm(tBu)MCl (M = Fe, Co), Tm(Ph)MCl (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni), Tm(Ar)MCl (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni), Tm(Ph)MI (M = Mn, Co), and Tm(Ar)MI (M = Fe, Co, Ni) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. The Tm(R) ligands occupy the tripodal coordination site of the metal ions, giving a square pyramidal or trigonal bipyramidal coordination geometry for Tm(Me)M(mu-Cl)]2 and a tetrahedral geometry for the Tm(R)MCl complexes, where the S-M-S bite angles are larger than the reported N-M-N angles of the corresponding hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate (Tp(R)) complexes. Treatment of Tm(Ph)2Fe with excess FeCl2 affords Tm(Ph)FeCl, indicating that Tm(R)2M as well as Tm(R)MCl is formed at the initial stage of the reaction between MCl2 and the Tm(R) anion.
