Abstract
A series of ruthenium(ii) complexes with N-heterocyclic carbene ligands were successfully synthesized by transmetalation reactions between silver(i) N-heterocyclic carbene complexes and [RuCl2(p-cymene)]2 in dichloromethane under Ar conditions. All new compounds were characterized by spectroscopic and analytical methods. These ruthenium(ii)–NHC complexes were found to be efficient precatalysts for the transfer hydrogenation of ketones by using 2-propanol as the hydrogen source in the presence of KOH as a co-catalyst. The antibacterial activity of ruthenium N-heterocyclic carbene complexes 3a–f was measured by disc diffusion method against Gram positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Compounds 3d exhibited potential antibacterial activity against five bacterial species among the six used as indicator cells. The product 3e inhibits the growth of all the six tested microorganisms. Moreover, the antioxidant activity determination of these complexes 3a–f, using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2′-azinobis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid (ABTS) as reagent, showed that compounds 3b and 3d possess DPPH and ABTS antiradical activities. From a concentration of 1 mg ml−1, these two complexes presented a similar scavenging activity to that of the two used controls gallic acid (GA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). From a concentration of 10 mg ml−1, the percentage inhibition of complexes 3b and 3d was respectively 70% and 90%. In addition, these two Ru–NHC complexes exhibited antifungal activity against Candida albicans. Investigation of the anti-acetylcholinesterase activity of the studied complexes showed that compounds 3a, 3b, 3d and 3e exhibited good activity at 100 μg ml−1 and product 3d is the most active. In a cytotoxicity study the complexes 3 were evaluated against two human cancer cell lines MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7. Both 3d and 3e complexes were found to be active against the tested cell lines showing comparable activity with examples in the literature. Abstract
Facile access towards a small library of unsymmetrical ammonium salt-tagged N-heterocyclic carbene gold(i) complexes is described, and their application as recyclable catalysts in cyclization reactions of acetylenic carboxylic acids and amides to lactones and lactams, respectively, in aqueous media is demonstrated. Abstract
The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C16H21N2O2 (+)·PF6 (-), contains half of the whole ion pair, which has crystallographic mirror symmetry. Two F atoms related by the mirror plane are disordered over two sites of equal occupancy. The dihedral angle between the central ring and the furan ring is 59.3 ()°. In the crystal, the anions and cations are linked through C-H⋯F inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional network.

Abstract
A ruthenium-arene-PTA (RAPTA) complex has been supported for the first time on an inorganic solid, that is, silica-coated ferrite nanoparticles. The resulting magnetic material proved to be a general, very efficient and easily reusable catalyst for three synthetically useful organic transformations; selective nitrile hydration, redox isomerization of allylic alcohols, and heteroannulation of (Z)-enynols. The use of low metal concentration, environmentally friendly water as a reaction medium, with no use at all of organic solvent during or after the reactions, and microwaves as an alternative energy source renders the synthetic processes reported herein "truly" green and sustainable.

Abstract
The title complex, [RuCl(2)(C(25)H(26)N(2))]·CH(2)Cl(2), is best thought of as containing an octa-hedrally coordinated Ru center with the arene occupying three sites. Two Ru-Cl bonds and one Ru-carbene bond complete the distorted octa-hedron. The carbene portion of the ligand is a benzimidazole ring. This ring is connected to the C(6)H(2)(CH(3))(3) arene group by a CH(2) bridge. This leads to a system with very little apparent strain. A dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule completes the crystal structure. Further stabilization is accomplished via C-H⋯N and C-H⋯Cl interactions.

Abstract
A new ruthenium complex, [RuBrCl(C(28)H(32)N(2))], has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, (1)H NMR, (13)C NMR, IR-spectroscopy and a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. The Ru atom in this complex is best described as having a considerably distorted octa-hedral coordination environment with the arene occupying three coordination sites. Two further coordination sites are occupied by chloride and bromide ligands, while the sixth site is occupied by the carbene. The carbene portion of the ligand is a benzimidazole ring. This ring is connected to the C(6)H(4)C(CH(3))(3) arene by a CH(2) bridge. This leads to a system with very little apparent strain. The two halogen atoms are disordered between Br and Cl. Two partial Cl atoms share the same sites as two partial Br atoms so that the title compound effectively has one Cl and one Br atom. C-H⋯X (X = Cl, Br) hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the crystal structure.
