Abstract
We describe the synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of μ-oxo-bis[(octacosafluoro-meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato)iron(iii)] [(FeTPPF28)2O]. This novel iron complex is an efficient catalyst for oxidative biaryl coupling reactions of diarylamines and carbazoles. The asymmetric oxidative coupling in the presence of an axially chiral biaryl phosphoric acid as co-catalyst provides the 2,2'-bis(arylamino)-1,1'-biaryl in 96% ee. The Wacker-type oxidation of alkenes to the corresponding ketones with (FeTPPF28)2O as catalyst in the presence of phenylsilane proceeds at room temperature with air as the terminal oxidant. For internal and aliphatic alkenes increased ketone/alcohol product ratios were obtained.

Abstract
Carbazole is a unique template associated with several biological activities. It is due to the diverse and versatile biological properties of carbazole derivatives that they are of immense interest to the research community. 1-keto-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazoles are important synthetic intermediates to obtain carbazole derivatives. Several members of this family emit fluorescence on photoexcitation. In the context of biochemical and biophysical research, designing and characterising small molecule environment sensitive fluorophores is extremely significant. This article aims to be a state of the art review with synthetic and photophysical details of a variety of fluorophores based on 1-keto-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole skeleton.

Abstract
A novel strategy for the synthesis of 3-hydroxycarbazoles involving the consecutive propargylation/palladium-catalyzed hydroxylative benzannulation of indole-2-carbonyls with propargylic alcohols has been exploited. This one-pot procedure leads to a wide range of substituted 3-hydroxycarbazoles in high yield with a broad substrate scope. The method was further extended to access furano-carbazole derivatives from dialkynols via tandem annulations.

Abstract
Facile syntheses of imperative carbazole alkaloids carbazomycin A, carbazomycin B, hyellazole, chlorohyellazole, and clausenaline D have been demonstrated starting from readily available Boc-protected 3-formylindole and dimethyl maleate. The suitably substituted aromatic rings have been designed comprising three/four significant C-C bond forming reactions. The competent Wittig reaction, selective monoalkylations, one-pot regioselective Weinreb amide formation and Boc-deprotection, well designed Grignard reactions, dehydrative intramolecular cyclizations, and Baeyer-Villiger rearrangement of aromatic aldehydes were the main features.

Abstract
Glycoluril derivative--whose bulky Ph-C[triple bond]C- substituents prevent formation of H-bonded tapes--undergoes solvent dependent assembly in the crystal; a tetrameric molecular bowl is formed by R(24) H-bonding interactions from CH(2)Cl(2) whereas DMF results in H-bond dimerization followed by oligomerization via C-H...pi interactions.

Abstract
A series of aryl-substituted cyclohexadienyliron complexes have been prepared by a general procedure that determines regioselectivity by correctly positioning leaving groups in the precursor complexes. The aryl groups at 1-C or 2-C have been shown to be omega directing by the study of reactions with a representative range of nucleophiles, and these regioselectivity properties have been related to the spectroscopic properties of the cationic cyclohexadienyliron complexes. A high level of electron-donating substituents on the arene, or switching between the [Fe(CO)3] and [Fe(CO)2PPh3] series, reduces the minor ipso pathway, improving regiocontrol. Placing opposed directing groups in the arylcyclohexadienyliron complexes reverts reactivity to the ipso pathway with stabilised enolate nucleophiles, and when the additional directing group reinforces the effect of the aryl group, the ipso pathway is stopped.
