Primary Renal Lymphoma - A Case Report and Review of Literature

Primary Renal Lymphoma (PRL) is rare and its existence has been called into question due to the absence of lymphatic tissue within renal parenchyma. Non-specific abdominal pain with mass in the lumbar region and otherwise unexplained renal failure is the most common presentation. Almost all patients eventually develop extrarenal lymphomatous disease and few patients survive beyond one year. Surgical treatment is rarely feasible as primary modality of treatment since the tumour often encases major vessels and surrounding organs necessitating major resection. Instead, an attempt can be made to downstage the tumour with chemotherapy before attempting surgery. Here we present a case of primary renal Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma (NHL) which was treated with chemotherapy but the patient succumbed to disease before the third cycle.

Malignant lymphoma occurring simultaneously in the urinary bladder wall and bilateral renal parenchyma: A case report

A 67-year-old man was admitted to hospital with acid regurgitation, acute right lower abdominal pain and mild fever. Multiple suspicious mass lesions were detected in the patient's kidneys, the right side wall of his bladder and the right lower ureter, using CT urography and PET-CT. He underwent palliative surgery of the bladder and percutaneous renal biopsy. Postoperative histopathological examination and immunohistochemical staining indicated that the tumor was consistent with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Although DLBCL is by far the most common type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, it is rare for DLBCL to simultaneously involve the kidneys, bladder and the lower ureteric tract.

Primary renal lymphoma: a case report and literature review

Primary renal lymphoma (PRL) is a rare disease which is often mistaken for renal cell carcinoma. In the present study, a 56-year-old man visited a clinic complaining of an intermittent fever and right flank pain. A computerized tomography examination revealed a hypoenhancing mass in his right kidney. Radical nephrectomy was conducted, and a diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was confirmed. The present case was determined to be a true PRL according to the results of a positron emission tomography examination and a bone marrow biopsy to rule out any lymphoma invasions apart from the right kidney.

[Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and urinary tract. About a case reported]

We pass to describe a case of non Hodgkin's secondary lymphoma with metachronic affectation in bladder and left kidney, in a patient with different extranodals locations. Both in bladder and kidney, it was a low grade lymphoma type B with centrofolicular cells. We suggest haematogenous dissemination and affinity of lymphomatous clone to the urinary tract. We establish some diagnostic considerations, such about the therapeutic management in this type of pathologies.
