Abstract
:
To overcome the upsurge of antimicrobial resistance that has emerged in recent years,
there is a need for the development of newer hits having satisfying anti-infective activity. Hydrazides
incorporated with an azomethine hydrogen account for a cardinal class of molecules for the
development of newer derivatives. Hydrazide derivatives have gained considerable interest of medicinal
chemists owing to their diverse bioactivity. In the present review, we have attempted to
compile the recent trends in the synthesis of hydrazides and their substituted derivatives. The structural
features that lead to the desired antimicrobial activity are highlighted, which will lead the way
for synthetic and medicinal chemists to focus on newer designs in this arena.

Abstract
An efficient and versatile protocol for the C-H sulfonylation of imidazoheterocycles via electrochemical activation was established under batch and flow conditions. The selective C-H bond functionalization proceeded under catalyst- and oxidant-free conditions and tolerated a wide range of functional groups. Various sodium sulfinates as well as imidazo[1,2-a]-pyridines, -pyrimidine, -quinolines, and -isoquinolines, imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazine, imidazo[2,1-b]thiazoles and benzo[d]imidazo[1,2-b]thiazoles reacted successfully. Interestingly, significant acceleration and higher yields were obtained under microfluidic conditions.

Abstract
The reaction of cyclopentanone with either malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate gave the corresponding condensated products. The latter underwent some heterocyclic reactions to give new pyrazole, thiophene, and pyridazine derivatives. The antitumor evaluation of the newly synthesized products against the three cancer cells, namely, breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7), nonsmall cell lung cancer (NCI-H460), and CNS cancer (SF-268) showed that some of them have high inhibitory effect towards three cell lines which is higher than the standard.
