Abstract
Cu(I) from tetrakis(acetonitrile)copper(I) hexafluorophosphate ([Cu(MeCN)4]PF6) was complexed with five structurally related phosphines containing N-heterocycles. The interactions between the resulting complexes and some N-nitrosamines were studied using X-ray crystallography as well as emission spectroscopy. Upon complexation, three phosphine ligands bridge two Cu(I) centers to give paddlewheel type structures that displayed a range of emission wavelengths spanning the visible region. N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) was shown to coordinate to one of the two copper centers in some of the paddlewheel complexes in the solid state and this interaction also quenches their emissions in solution. The influence of the weakly coordinating anion on crystal and spectroscopic properties of one of the paddlewheel complexes was also examined using tetrakis(acetonitrile)copper(I) perchlorate ([Cu(MeCN)4]ClO4) as an alternative Cu(I) source. Similarly, copper(II) perchlorate hexahydrate (Cu(ClO4)2·6H2O) was used for complexation to observe the impact of metal oxidation state on the two aforementioned properties. Lastly, the spectroscopic properties of the complex between Ph2P(1-Isoquinoline) and Cu(I) was shown to exhibit solvent dependence when the counterion is ClO4-. These Cu(I) complexes are bench stable solids and may be useful materials for developing a fluorescence based detection method for N-nitrosamines.

Abstract
In the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C11H8Br)], the distance of the Fe atom from the centroids of the unsubstituted and substituted cyclopentadienyl (Cp) rings is 1.644 (1) and 1.643 (1) Å, respectively. The ferrocenyl moiety deviates from an eclipsed geometry, with marginally tilted Cp rings and an interplanar angle between the Cp and benzene rings of 13.0 (4)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by C—H⋯π interactions between a cyclopentadienyl H atom and the cyclopentadienyl ring of a neighbouring molecule.

Abstract
The hemilabile ligand Me-DuPHOS(O) 2 has proven to be a successful ligand for the copper-catalyzed addition of diethylzinc to N-phosphinoylimines. The corresponding alpha-chiral amines were obtained in high yields (80-98%) and enantiomeric ratios (19.0:1 to 99.0:1 er). Furthermore, this Cu* 2 catalytic system has been shown to be effective in the addition of diethylzinc to nitroalkenes and in the reduction of beta,beta-disubstituted vinyl phenyl sulfones. This paper describes a general structure/selectivity study in which the three ligand subunits (chiral phospholane-linker-labile coordinating group (Z)) are systematically modified and tested in the copper-catalyzed addition of diethylzinc to the N-phosphinoylimine 1 derived from benzaldehyde. This study led to the discovery of a new class of effective chiral ligands that combine a chiral phospholane unit and an achiral phosphine oxide.

Abstract
Donor properties of 1-(diphenylphosphanyl)-1'-vinylferrocene (1) were investigated in a series of reactions with palladium(II), rhodium(I), and copper(I) compounds. In all complexes obtained, compound 1 coordinates exclusively as a monodentate phosphorus donor, giving trans-[PdCl2(1-κP)2] (3) with [PdCl2(cod)], [PdCl(LNC)(1-κP)] (4) with [{Pd(LNC)}2(μ-Cl)2], and trans-[RhCl(CO)(1-κP)2] (5) with [{Rh(CO)2}2(μ-Cl)2] (cod = cycloocta-1,5-diene, LNC = 2-[(dimethylamino)methyl-κN]phenyl-κC1). Copper(I) precursors CuI and [Cu(MeCN)4]PF6 reacted with 1 in a similar manner, yielding at appropriate molar ratios heterocubane [(μ3-I)4{Cu(1-κP)}4] (6) and the bis(phosphane) complex [Cu(MeCN)(1-κP)2]PF6 (7), respectively. The structures of 1-(diphenylthiophosphoryl)-1'-vinylferrocene (2), 3, 4·CHCl3, 6·C6H6, and 7 have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
