Abstract
In order to explore the applicability of the waterborne coating with self-repairing microcapsules based on the surface of wood boards and specify the optimal range of microcapsule content in the coating, three different kinds of shellac microcapsules (transparent shellac, purple shellac, and yellow shellac) were embedded in a waterborne acrylic coating at 0, 1.5 wt.%, 3.0 wt.%, 4.5 wt.%, 6.0 wt.%, and 7.5 wt.%. The Beli wood (Paraberlinia bifoliolata) boards were then covered with self-repairing coatings to investigate the self-repairing coating’s physical and chemical properties, aging resistance, and scratch repair abilities. The findings demonstrated that the chromatic difference and gloss of surface coatings on Beli wood boards were significantly influenced by the content of microcapsules. The optical characteristics and cold liquid resistance performance of the coating on Beli wood were enhanced when the microcapsule content was 3.0 wt.%. Additionally, the mechanical qualities of the coating with 3.0 wt.% transparent shellac microcapsules on Beli wood surface were better, with an H hardness, grade 2 adhesion, and 8 kg·cm of impact strength. The studies on scratch repairing and aging resistance indicated that microcapsules helped to slow down the coating’s damage and retard aging. After a microcrack appeared, the waterborne coating with microcapsules on Beli wood’s surface had the capacity to repair itself. After aging, the coating with 3.0 wt.% transparent shellac microcapsule on Beli wood boards had a better performance on the comprehensive properties, with a 28.9% light loss rate and a 6 kg·cm impact resistance. It also had a 25.0% repairing rate in scratch width after being damaged for 5 d. This study advances the development of self-healing waterborne coatings on the wood board with shellac microcapsules by examining the effects of shellac in various colors and shellac microcapsule content in waterborne coatings.

Highly Efficient and Selective Carbon-Doped BN Photocatalyst Derived from a Homogeneous Precursor Reconfiguration. Catalysts 2022. Abstract
The modification of inert boron nitride by carbon doping to make it an efficient photocatalyst has been considered as a promising strategy. Herein, a highly efficient porous BCN (p-BCN) photocatalyst was synthesized via precursor reconfiguration based on the recrystallization of a new homogeneous solution containing melamine diborate and glucose. Two crystal types of the p-BCN were obtained by regulating the recrystallization conditions of the homogeneous solution, which showed high photocatalytic activities and a completely different CO2 reduction selectivity. The CO generation rate and selectivity of the p-BCN-1 were 63.1 μmol·g−1·h−1 and 54.33%; the corresponding values of the p-BCN-2 were 42.6 μmol·g−1·h−1 and 80.86%. The photocatalytic activity of the p-BCN was significantly higher than those of equivalent materials or other noble metals-loaded nanohybrids reported in the literature. It was found that the differences in the interaction sites between the hydroxyl groups in the boric acid and the homolateral hydroxyl groups in the glucose were directly correlated with the structures and properties of the p-BCN photocatalyst. We expect that the developed approach is general and could be extended to incorporate various other raw materials containing hydroxyl groups into the melamine diborate solution and could modulate precursors to obtain porous BN-based materials with excellent performance.

We
present an innovative method for the synthesis of boron carbon nitride
thin film materials in a simple furnace setup, using commonly available
solid precursors and relatively low temperature compared to previous
attempts. The as-prepared structural and optical properties of thin
films are tuned via the precursor content, leading to a sp2-conjugated boron nitride–carbon nitride mixed material, instead
of the commonly reported boron nitride–graphene phase segregation,
with tunable optical properties such as band gap and fluorescence.

Abstract
C3N6H6·2H3BO3 (M·2B) is a highly promising precursor of boron nitride (BN) fibers due to its eco-friendly and low-cost fabrication. However, it is still unclear why the fibers can maintain their morphology in spite of drastic weight loss (nearly 80 wt%) during M·2B-to-BN pyrolysis. Herein, an interesting cracking and self-healing behavior of the heated M·2B fibers was observed at initial pyrolysis. In situ formed molten boron oxide (B2O3) was figured out to be the healing agent for the cracks and subsequently merged into the continuous matrix enclosing melamine/melem molecules, which subsequently acted as a nitrogen source. The B2O3 matrix helped to keep the fiber morphology undamaged under the second weight-loss stage in the pyrolysis process. This strategy of taking advantage of the in situ formed molten phase for healing cracks offers detailed guidance to prepare defect-free M·2B-derived BN fibers and would be significant in defect repair for other ceramics. Abstract
Crystal engineering of novel materials for nonlinear optics (NLO) based on 2-aminopyrimidine yielded two molecular cocrystals with boric acid—trigonal (P3221 space group) 2-aminopyrimidine—boric acid (3/2) and monoclinic (C2/c space group) 2-aminopyrimidine—boric acid (1/2). In addition to crystal structure determination by single crystal X-ray diffraction, the cocrystals were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR and FT Raman). Large single crystals of the non-centrosymmetric cocrystal 2-aminopyrimidine—boric acid (3/2) were grown to study the optical properties and determine the second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency (using 800 nm fundamental laser line) of powder samples.

Abstract
FT-IR, FT-Raman and surface enhanced Raman scattering spectra of cyclobenzaprinium salicylate were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers were examined theoretically using the Gaussian09 set of quantum chemistry codes, and the normal modes were assigned by potential energy distribution calculations. The downshift of the OH stretching frequency is due to strong hydrogen bonded system present in the title compound as given by XRD results. The presence of CH3, CH2 and CO2 modes in the SERS spectrum indicates the nearness of the methyl group to the metal surface which affects the orientation and metal molecule interaction. The presence of phenyl ring modes in the SERS spectrum indicates a tilted orientation with respect to the metal surface. The geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with XRD results. A computation of the first hyperpolarizability indicates that the compound may be a good candidate as a NLO material.

Abstract
Melamine cyanurate, an organic crystalline complex was, synthesized by evaporation of an aqueous solution containing equimolar quantities of melamine and cyanuric acid. The synthesized compound has been subjected to various characterizations like Powder XRD, FT-IR, TG-DTG, SEM, and SHG. The presence of sharp diffraction peaks in the XRD confirms that the products are highly crystalline. The average particle size was calculated using the Debye-Scherrer formula, and it was found to be 3.067 μm. Thermal behavior of the grown crystal has been studied by TG-DTG analysis. From TG-DTG, it is found that the title crystal possesses good thermal stability. The activation energy was calculated using the Broido, Coats-Redfern, and Horowitz-Metzger methods. A sharp peak exothermic peak at 405.40°C was assigned as the melting point of the title material. SEM reveals the morphology of the synthesized salt. No detectable signal was observed during the Kurtz-Perry technique.

Abstract
The effects of high pressure on the structural stability of the melamine-boric acid adduct (C3N6H(6).2H3BO3, M.2B), a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded supramolecular architecture, were studied by in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectroscopy. M.2B exhibited a high compressibility and a strong anisotropic compression, which can be explained by the layerlike crystal packing. Furthermore, evolution of XRD patterns and Raman spectra indicated that the M.2B crystal undergoes a reversible pressure-induced amorphization (PIA) at 18 GPa. The mechanism for the PIA was attributed to the competition between close packing and long-range order. Ab initio calculations were also performed to account for the behavior of hydrogen bonding under high pressure.
