Abstract
Four new triphenylphosphine-derived cage ligands were modularly synthesized via dynamic imine chemistry (DIC), and their absolute structures were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and high resolution mass spectroscopy (HRMS). In contrast to small-molecule analogues, cage ligands demonstrate superior activity and selectivity. The Rh/Cage-L2 catalyst exhibits remarkable performance with an aldehyde selectivity of 89%, accompanied by a TOF value of 2665 h-1 and an l/b ratio of 2.60, thereby showcasing leading activity, chemical selectivity, and regioselectivity in the realm of homogeneous catalysts that rely on triphenylphosphine ligands. The reason for the formation of a higher l/b ratio, with a 3.84 kJ mol-1 difference in the energy of the rate-determining step, has been explained through density functional theory (DFT) calculations. In addition, a Janus-type PPh3-Au complex has been discovered during the study of the coordination of cage ligands, offering partial corroboration for the single coordination mechanism of these cage ligands. The large steric hindrance effect of cage ligands is believed to play a pivotal role in the hydroformylation reaction. This work highlights the potential application of cage ligands and inspires future efforts in the search of highly selective and efficient organometallic catalysts.

Abstract
Hydroformylation is one of the most significant homogeneous reactions. Compared with homogeneous catalysts, heterogeneous catalysts are easy to be separated from the system. However, heterogeneous catalysis faces the problems of low activity and poor chemical/regional selectivity. Therefore, there are theoretical and practical significance to develop efficient heterogeneous catalysts. SACs can be widely applied in hydroformylation in the future, due to the high atom utilization efficiency, stable active sites, easy separation, and recovery. In this review, the recent advances of SACs for hydroformylation are summarized. The regulation of microstructure affected on the reactivity, stability of SACs, and chem/regioselectivity of SACs for hydroformylation are discussed. The support effect, ligand effect, and electron effect on the performance of SACs are proposed, and the catalytic mechanism of SACs is elaborated. Finally, we summarize the current challenges in this field, and propose the design and research ideas of SACs for hydroformylation of olefins.

Abstract
Porous organic cages have shape persistent cavities which provide a suitable platform for encapsulation of guest molecules with size suitably fitting to the cavity. The interactions of the guest molecule with the porous organic cage significantly alter the properties of the guest molecule. Herein, we report the effect of encapsulation on the kinetics of various organic transformations including 2 + 4 cycloaddition, 1,5-sigmatropic, 6π-electrocyclization, ring expansion, cheletropic, dyotropic, trimerization and tautomerization reactions. Non-bonding interactions are generated between the CC2 cage and encapsulated species. However, the number and nature/strength of interactions are different for reactant and TS with the CC2 cage and this difference detects the reaction to be accelerated or slowed down. A significant drop in the barrier of reactions is observed for reactions involving strong interactions of the transition state within the cage. However, for some reactions such as the Claisen rearrangement, reactants are stabilized more than the transition state and therefore an increase in activation barrier is observed. Furthermore, non-covalent analyses of all transition states (inside the cage) confirm the interaction between the CC2 cage and substrate. The current study will promote further exploration of the potential of other porous structures for similar applications. Porous organic cages have shape persistent cavities which provide a suitable platform for encapsulation of guest molecules with size suitably fitting to the cavity.![]()
