Abstract
BACKGROUND The nursing work environment can be compromised due to workload, stress and many other issues. A good nursing work environment is needed to for the health and wellbeing of nurses and therefore measures are developed to improve nursing work environment. AIM To determine whether measures designed to improve the work environment for nursing professionals are effective. METHODOLOGY Online research in the Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, CINHAL, PsycINFO, and American Doctoral Dissertations databases, along with manual search, was carried out. Primary experimental studies made up of intervention and control groups were included, with pre-/post-measure evaluation in the nursing team, based on the effects of the interventions. Risk of bias was calculated using the Cochrane tool. RESULTS A total of 1997 studies were examined; 19 clinical trials met the inclusion criteria. A total of 1427 nurses participated in the selected studies. The fields of application of the interventions were personal and environmental. Out of the fields targeting individuals, three methodologies were identified: cognitive-behavioral techniques, stress management, channeling anxiety and physical well-being; and those aimed at environmental fields: aromatization and organization. The most evaluated characteristic was teamwork, and the most analyzed symptom was stress. Most of the interventions concluded with at least one significant improvement. CONCLUSIONS Interventions aimed at enhancing the work environment are effective ways of increasing job satisfaction. The heterogeneity of the data did not allow us to determine which intervention is the most effective. The combination, type, and duration are variables that affect efficacy. IMPLICATION FOR NURSING AND NURSING POLICY This systematic review provides resources for improving the work environment that affects nursing staff, other professionals, and patients. Encouraging a healthy atmosphere leads to excellence in care and improved safety.

Abstract
AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of interventions to reduce nurses' burnout. DESIGN A systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS The research was carried out using the following databases: MEDLINE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, ULAKBİM Turkish National Database, Science Direct, and Web of Science. The study selection, quality assessments, and data extractions of the included studies were carried out by the researchers independently. The PRISMA checklist was used to assure the quality and transparency of the report. The risk of bias of the included studies was evaluated using the Cochrane Collaboration tool. The meta-analysis was performed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) 3.0 software. RESULTS A total of 19 studies including 1139 nurses were included in the study. Of these, only 13 were included in the meta-analysis, as six contained incomplete data. Interventions aimed at reducing burnout in nurses were mostly person-directed interventions. The meta-analysis revealed that attempts to reduce burnout had a small effect on nurses' emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, and a moderate effect on their personal accomplishment. CONCLUSIONS Interventions are more effective at preventing the sense of personal accomplishment of nurses from decreasing. Evidence in the literature on organization-directed interventions and combined interventions to reduce burnout in nurses is limited. Person-directed interventions are effective at low and medium levels. In future studies, it will be more effective to implement combined interventions including both person-directed and organization-directed interventions to reduce the burnout of nurses.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Burnout is a significant occupational problem among oncology nurses, affecting their physical and mental health and the quality of medical care. Besides, there is a gradually increasing trend that we should pay more attention to. OBJECTIVES To investigate the prevalence, influencing factors and interventions of oncology nurses' burnout among different continents. DESIGN Systematic review and meta-analysis. DATA SOURCES English literature in PubMed, EMBASE, MEDLINE/EBSCOhost, CINAHL Complete and Web and of Science were searched before 1 March 2022. RESULTS Twenty studies included 5904 oncology nurses in this review. Meta-analysis was performed in 19 of the studies. First, the pooled mean scores estimate for emotional exhaustion (EE) was 22.13 (95% CI: 19.69-24.58), depersonalization (DP) was 6.89 (95% CI: 5.67-8.10) and personal accomplishment (PA) was 32.86 (95% CI: 29.34-36.37). A high level of burnout was defined as a high level of EE (score ≥ 27), a high level of DP (score ≥ 10), and a low level of PA (score ≤ 33). Of these, 36.40% of nurses reported high EE, 28.26% reported high DP and 28.68% reported low levels of PA. Furthermore, there are differences in the prevalence, influencing factors and intervention measures of burnout among oncology nurses in different regions. The highest pooled mean scores for EE and DP were found in Asia. And the highest pooled mean scores for PA were found in the Americas. The factors that influence burnout among Asian oncology nurses are mostly personal-related factors such as empathy and personality traits, while the factors that influence burnout among European oncology nurses are work-related factors. This review included three intervention studies from Europe and the Americas, with fewer intervention studies on burnout in oncology nurses in Asia. CONCLUSION Oncology nurses in Asia had the highest pooled mean scores for EE and DP, and the highest mean scores for the PA pool in the Americas. There are regional differences in the prevalence and factors influencing burnout among oncology nurses, but there are few interventions for it. Therefore, future interventions should be developed to address the differences that exist in different regions. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE Burnout among oncology nurses in different regions is a concern, and this review may provide a reference for managers to target interventions to alleviate burnout among oncology nurses.

Abstract
Sporadic evidence exists for burnout interventions in terms of types, dosage, duration, and assessment of burnout among clinical nurses. This study aimed to evaluate burnout interventions for clinical nurses. Seven English databases and two Korean databases were searched to retrieve intervention studies on burnout and its dimensions between 2011 and 2020.check Thirty articles were included in the systematic review, 24 of them for meta-analysis. Face-to-face mindfulness group intervention was the most common intervention approach. When burnout was measured as a single concept, interventions were found to alleviate burnout when measured by the ProQoL (n = 8, standardized mean difference [SMD] = - 0.654, confidence interval [CI] = - 1.584, 0.277, p < 0.01, I2 = 94.8%) and the MBI (n = 5, SMD = - 0.707, CI = - 1.829, 0.414, p < 0.01, I2 = 87.5%). The meta-analysis of 11 articles that viewed burnout as three dimensions revealed that interventions could reduce emotional exhaustion (SMD = - 0.752, CI = - 1.044, - 0.460, p < 0.01, I2 = 68.3%) and depersonalization (SMD = - 0.822, CI = - 1.088, - 0.557, p < 0.01, I2 = 60.0%) but could not improve low personal accomplishment. Clinical nurses' burnout can be alleviated through interventions. Evidence supported reducing emotional exhaustion and depersonalization but did not support low personal accomplishment.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the training program which was based on cognitive behavioral theory on accepting and expressing emotions in terms of nurses' psychological resilience and depression levels. DESIGN AND METHODS The study is an intervention study with a control group conducted with pretest, posttest, and two-year follow-up test design in line with Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT). The participants in the intervention group attended an eight-week accepting and expressing emotions training program, while those in the control group did not. The Psychological Resilience Scale for Adults (RSA) and Beck's Depression Inventory (BDI) were applied to both groups as pre-test, post-test and 6-month follow-up (T2), 12-month follow-up (T3) and 24-month follow-up (T4). RESULTS It was determined that there was a significant change in RSA scale scores of the intervention group, and that the effect of group ∗ time interaction for all scores was significant. An increase in the total score was found for all follow-up periods with respect to T1. A significant decrease was determined in BDI scores of the intervention group, and the effect of group-time interaction for all scores was found to be significant. It was found that there was a decrease in the scores of the intervention group in all follow-up periods with respect to T1. CONCLUSIONS The results obtained from the study showed that the training program conducted with groups on accepting and expressing emotions was effective on the nurses' psychological resilience and depression scores. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS Training programs that develop the skills of accepting and expression emotions can help nurses find their thoughts underlying their emotions. Thus, depression levels of nurses can decrease, and their psychological resilience can improve. This situation can help in terms of reducing workplace stress of nurses and can cause their working life to be more effective.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Healthcare workers can suffer from work-related stress as a result of an imbalance of demands, skills and social support at work. This may lead to stress, burnout and psychosomatic problems, and deterioration of service provision. This is an update of a Cochrane Review that was last updated in 2015, which has been split into this review and a review on organisational-level interventions. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the effectiveness of stress-reduction interventions targeting individual healthcare workers compared to no intervention, wait list, placebo, no stress-reduction intervention or another type of stress-reduction intervention in reducing stress symptoms. SEARCH METHODS: We used the previous version of the review as one source of studies (search date: November 2013). We searched the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO, CINAHL, Web of Science and a trials register from 2013 up to February 2022. SELECTION CRITERIA We included randomised controlled trials (RCT) evaluating the effectiveness of stress interventions directed at healthcare workers. We included only interventions targeted at individual healthcare workers aimed at reducing stress symptoms. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS: Review authors independently selected trials for inclusion, assessed risk of bias and extracted data. We used standard methodological procedures expected by Cochrane. We categorised interventions into ones that: 1. focus one's attention on the (modification of the) experience of stress (thoughts, feelings, behaviour); 2. focus one's attention away from the experience of stress by various means of psychological disengagement (e.g. relaxing, exercise); 3. alter work-related risk factors on an individual level; and ones that 4. combine two or more of the above. The crucial outcome measure was stress symptoms measured with various self-reported questionnaires such as the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), measured at short term (up to and including three months after the intervention ended), medium term (> 3 to 12 months after the intervention ended), and long term follow-up (> 12 months after the intervention ended). MAIN RESULTS: This is the second update of the original Cochrane Review published in 2006, Issue 4. This review update includes 89 new studies, bringing the total number of studies in the current review to 117 with a total of 11,119 participants randomised. The number of participants per study arm was ≥ 50 in 32 studies. The most important risk of bias was the lack of blinding of participants. Focus on the experience of stress versus no intervention/wait list/placebo/no stress-reduction intervention Fifty-two studies studied an intervention in which one's focus is on the experience of stress. Overall, such interventions may result in a reduction in stress symptoms in the short term (standardised mean difference (SMD) -0.37, 95% confidence interval (CI) -0.52 to -0.23; 41 RCTs; 3645 participants; low-certainty evidence) and medium term (SMD -0.43, 95% CI -0.71 to -0.14; 19 RCTs; 1851 participants; low-certainty evidence). The SMD of the short-term result translates back to 4.6 points fewer on the MBI-emotional exhaustion scale (MBI-EE, a scale from 0 to 54). The evidence is very uncertain (one RCT; 68 participants, very low-certainty evidence) about the long-term effect on stress symptoms of focusing one's attention on the experience of stress. Focus away from the experience of stress versus no intervention/wait list/placebo/no stress-reduction intervention Forty-two studies studied an intervention in which one's focus is away from the experience of stress. Overall, such interventions may result in a reduction in stress symptoms in the short term (SMD -0.55, 95 CI -0.70 to -0.40; 35 RCTs; 2366 participants; low-certainty evidence) and medium term (SMD -0.41 95% CI -0.79 to -0.03; 6 RCTs; 427 participants; low-certainty evidence). The SMD on the short term translates back to 6.8 fewer points on the MBI-EE. No studies reported the long-term effect. Focus on work-related, individual-level factors versus no intervention/no stress-reduction intervention Seven studies studied an intervention in which the focus is on altering work-related factors. The evidence is very uncertain about the short-term effects (no pooled effect estimate; three RCTs; 87 participants; very low-certainty evidence) and medium-term effects and long-term effects (no pooled effect estimate; two RCTs; 152 participants, and one RCT; 161 participants, very low-certainty evidence) of this type of stress management intervention. A combination of individual-level interventions versus no intervention/wait list/no stress-reduction intervention Seventeen studies studied a combination of interventions. In the short-term, this type of intervention may result in a reduction in stress symptoms (SMD -0.67 95%, CI -0.95 to -0.39; 15 RCTs; 1003 participants; low-certainty evidence). The SMD translates back to 8.2 fewer points on the MBI-EE. On the medium term, a combination of individual-level interventions may result in a reduction in stress symptoms, but the evidence does not exclude no effect (SMD -0.48, 95% CI -0.95 to 0.00; 6 RCTs; 574 participants; low-certainty evidence). The evidence is very uncertain about the long term effects of a combination of interventions on stress symptoms (one RCT, 88 participants; very low-certainty evidence). Focus on stress versus other intervention type Three studies compared focusing on stress versus focusing away from stress and one study a combination of interventions versus focusing on stress. The evidence is very uncertain about which type of intervention is better or if their effect is similar. AUTHORS' CONCLUSIONS Our review shows that there may be an effect on stress reduction in healthcare workers from individual-level stress interventions, whether they focus one's attention on or away from the experience of stress. This effect may last up to a year after the end of the intervention. A combination of interventions may be beneficial as well, at least in the short term. Long-term effects of individual-level stress management interventions remain unknown. The same applies for interventions on (individual-level) work-related risk factors. The bias assessment of the studies in this review showed the need for methodologically better-designed and executed studies, as nearly all studies suffered from poor reporting of the randomisation procedures, lack of blinding of participants and lack of trial registration. Better-designed trials with larger sample sizes are required to increase the certainty of the evidence. Last, there is a need for more studies on interventions which focus on work-related risk factors.

Abstract
Background: This study investigated the psychological empowerment (PE) of nurses in pediatric units and examined the significant difference between the level of PE and the personal work profiles of nurses working in pediatric units in Saudi Arabia. Methods: A quantitative descriptive study design was employed between May and July 2020 using a self-administered electronic survey that collected personal work profile data and applied the Psychological Empowerment Scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software for descriptive statistics, t-tests, and ANOVA. Results: Most of the study participants (69.6%) were non-Saudi nurses, and 71.9% worked in specialized areas. The mean PE score of the four dimensions across the 12 items was high. The mean score for the dimension meaning was the highest, whereas the lowest mean score was for the dimension self-determination. Nurses from different nationalities had significantly different PE levels. Conclusions: Expatriate nurses were more psychologically empowered. The findings will be of interest to all who wish to attract and retain local nurses by fostering PE in the work environment and involving nurses in decision-making processes, thus enabling them to act as leaders for increased work motivation.

Abstract
Purpose Both psychological empowerment and job stress have been the subjects of great concern, studied mainly in developed countries. In emerging economies, few studies have contributed to the knowledge of the relationship between these two constructs. This study analyzed the relationship between the dimensions of psychological empowerment and job stress in tenured professors from public higher education institutions in Ecuador during 2019, providing insights for achieving better results regarding the productivity and well-being of teachers. This research seeks to bridge the knowledge gap concerning psychological empowerment and job stress within an academic context in an emerging economy. Methods In this quantitative study, a confirmatory model was proposed. Correlation analysis was used to investigate whether psychological empowerment dimensions are related to job stress. Data were collected from a sample of 200 tenured professors working at public universities located in Zone 3 of Ecuador in 2019. The instrument applied for psychological empowerment was proposed by Spreitzer, composed of four dimensions—meaning, competence, impact, and autonomy. For job stress, the Occupational Stress Inventory-Revised (OSI-R) instrument applied was proposed and revised by Osipow. Results Through structural equation modeling with partial least squares, it was possible to demonstrate that psychological empowerment reduces levels of job stress only when it is perceived that there is autonomy, fewer limitations, and more freedom. No evidence was identified that other components of psychological empowerment, such as meaning, competence, and impact, are related to job stress. Conclusion The results indicated that the model used to explain the relationship between these variables had weak predictive power. Furthermore, only one research hypothesis is accepted. Finally, these findings are corroborated and explained by the different perspectives presented by various authors.

Abstract
This study was designed to examine the potential benefit of the addition of psychodrama classes to antenatal education as a new technique to address fear of childbirth. This was a randomised controlled trial. A total of 150 women were initially enrolled in two groups. Psychodrama sessions were added to standard antenatal education in the experiment group. The control group participated only in routine antenatal education classes. Birth outcomes and fear of childbirth were measured and analysed to assess the impact. The analysis was completed with an experimental group of 50 women and a control group of 49 women. At the conclusion of the training, it was observed that there was a greater decrease in fear of childbirth in the experiment group than in the control group. Additionally, in the postpartum period, the experimental group had a higher rate of vaginal childbirth and a shorter childbirth time than the control group. Psychodrama may be an effective means of reducing fear of childbirth and reduced caesarean section childbirth. Psychoeducation should be added antenatal education programs. Thus, it may represent an important tool in the efforts to improve maternal mental health and also provide broader social benefits.IMPACT STATEMENTWhat is already known on this subject? Studies examining means to reduce fear of childbirth have found that psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioural therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, haptotherapy and art therapy were useful.What the results of this study add? Psychodrama as a new intervention may be beneficial decreased of fear of childbirth, increased of normal birth rate and at improving the experience of pregnancy and childbirth.What the implications are of these findings for clinical practice and/or further research? Protecting and caring for the mental health of the mother and child benefits the entire community. It has been reported that 1 in 5 mothers experience psychiatric difficulties during the postpartum period, and 7 of 10 do not receive treatment, which has a negative impact on the mother, the child and family. Assesment of the mental health of women during the postpartum period is not regularly performed in many countries and women are frequently left to struggle on their own. The identification of pregnant women who have a high fear of childbirth and who are at risk of developing a psychiatric disorder by nurses is an important element of providing of appropriate, high-quality care.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Empowering nurses is essential for improving work outcomes, and understanding the role of structural and psychological empowerment in supporting nurses' work motivation and occupational mental health are essential to stimulate nurses' productivity and preserve their mental health. OBJECTIVES To evaluate nurses' perspectives about the levels of structural and psychological empowerment in their working areas. Additionally, to evaluate nurses' motivation and occupational mental health, and to predict the nurses' motivation and occupational mental health through structural and psychological empowerment. METHODS A descriptive correlational design and quota sampling were used. Two hundred registered nurses were recruited from two hospitals in Jordan. Data were collected using four valid and reliable self-report questionnaires. RESULTS Nurses who participated in this study were young and have an average total experience in nursing of fewer than 10 years. Nurses in this study reported a moderate level of structure empowerment and a low level of psychological empowerment. Significant positive relationships were documented between both structural, psychological empowerment, and nurses' work motivation (r = 0.85), (r = 0.83) respectively. A significant negative relationship found between both structural, psychological empowerment, and nurses' occupational mental health (r = -0.31), (r = -0.29) respectively. CONCLUSIONS The levels of nurses' work motivation and occupational mental health can be predicted through the levels of structural and psychological empowerment. The higher workplace empowerment was associated with increased work motivation, as well as reduced the feeling of occupational stress among nurses. Thus, administrators should invest in fostering structural and psychological empowerment in the work environment.

Abstract
Hierarchical relationships can negatively affect nurses' psychological empowerment and interprofessional hand overs. We explored nurses' perceptions of their psychological empowerment, teamwork, and work engagement; relationships between these concepts during interprofessional clinical hand overs; and observed interactive communication behaviors during hand overs. We used surveys and observations of interprofessional clinical hand overs to collect data from 39 nurses in a postanesthesia care unit in Australia. Nurses reported high scores for psychological empowerment and work engagement. Relationships between empowerment and teamwork (r = 0.41, P = .01) and empowerment and work engagement (r = 0.65, P < .001) were positive and significant. Relationships between nurses' observed communication behaviors and perceptions of empowerment, teamwork, and work engagement were nonsignificant. Additional research is needed to better understand how empowerment, teamwork, and work engagement affect nurses' interactive communication behaviors during interprofessional clinical hand overs in the postanesthesia care unit.

Abstract
AIM AND OBJECTIVES The present study aims at exploring oncology nurses' perceptions regarding work-related stressors. BACKGROUND Oncology nurses work in an environment with a high degree of stress, which can negatively affect their health. There is limited research on work-related stressors from the oncology nurses' perspective. DESIGN Qualitative descriptive study. METHODS Fifty-two oncology nurses were selected purposefully from eight cancer treatment centres in different cities of Iran. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analysed using conventional content analysis. The COREQ checklist was used to document the report of the study. RESULTS The extracted contents were classified into four main categories. The first category involved personal ability with two subcategories (person-job fit and psychological competencies). The second category included physical environment arrangements with two subcategories (physical working conditions and equipment and facilities). The third category involved psychosocial safety in the workplace with four subcategories (creating a safe work environment, overcoming the challenges of providing care to cancer patients, work/life balance and social recognition of the nursing status). The fourth category holds an organisational context with four subcategories (organisational support, interpersonal relations, justice at work and human resources). CONCLUSION It is necessary to find measures attenuating work-related stresses in oncology nurses. These measures should be in line with developing personal abilities in nurses and creating a safe environment in terms of optimising physical, psychosocial and organisational conditions. It is also important to develop programmes protecting the oncology nurses' occupational health. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE The results of this study can help improve nursing work conditions, attenuate work-related stresses in nurses and introduce efficient interventions reducing occupational stressors.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to carry out a systematic review of controlled clinical trials in order to identify both specific populations and social issues which may benefit from the effective use of psychodrama psychotherapy. A search was conducted in the WoS, SCOPUS, PsychINFO, Medline, Academic Search Ultimate, ProQuest, and PubPsych databases, complemented by a manual search on relevant websites and in the reference lists of the selected studies. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and quasi-RCTs of group-based psychodrama psychotherapy were included. The Effective Public Health Practice Project (EPHPP) tool was adopted to assess the methodological quality of the included studies. The search identified 14 RCTs and one quasi-RCT evaluating the effects of group-based psychodrama psychotherapy. The total number of participants in the studies was 642 people. Seven studies were conducted in Turkey, two in the USA, two in Finland, one in Canada, one in Brazil, one in Italy, and one in Iran. The heterogeneity of the issues analyzed indicates that psychodrama improves the symptoms associated with a wide range of problems. Despite psychodrama's long history, most clinical trials in this field have been published this century, which suggests not only that this psychotherapeutic practice remains relevant today but also that it continues to attract substantial interest among the scientific community. Nevertheless, further research efforts are required to understand its potential benefits for psychosocial well-being.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Job burnout is an occupational psychological syndrome with a high prevalence among nurses in China. Hemodialysis (HD) nursing work has the characteristics of high intensity, high technical content, and high risk. The aims of this study were to investigate the prevalence and level of job burnout among HD nurses in China and explore the potential factors associated with burnout among HD nurses. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study in 2019. Survey data were collected from 2738 HD centers in mainland China. Job burnout was measured by the Chinese version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The working atmosphere, interpersonal relationships with colleagues, and intention to leave were each assessed by a single question respectively. Multiple linear regression and structural equation modeling were used for the analysis. FINDINGS A total of 10,570 surveys were collected. A total of 1199 (11.34%) HD nurses reported a high level of emotional exhaustion, 782 (7.40%) reported a high level of depersonalization, and 6767 (64.02%) reported a low level of personal accomplishment. Job burnout in the Northeastern region of mainland China was higher than that in other regions (p < 0.05). The working atmosphere, interpersonal relationships, region, hospital level, educational level, career planning, age, and number of children were significantly associated with burnout among HD nurses (p < 0.001, adjusted R2 = 0.313). The working environment, individual factors, and specialist nurse training were significantly associated with HD nurse burnout and intention to leave (comparative fit index = 0.907; goodness of fit index = 0.930; root mean square error of approximation = 0.055). DISCUSSION There were notable regional differences in the burnout of HD nurses. This study contributes to the knowledge of the possible relationship of job burnout and intention to leave in HD nurses. It is suggested that improving the working atmosphere or interpersonal relationships and providing more training opportunities can alleviate job burnout in HD nurses.

Abstract
Background Currently considered an occupational disease, the burnout syndrome affects 13-27% of the active population in multiple occupational sectors of the modern world. Objectives Considering the burnout syndrome from the new perspective of the predictive, preventive, personalized medicine concept as a pathological entity with a predictable appearance and evolution which allows a preventive approach and a personalized therapy, the main objective of the study is to highlight the possibility of psychotherapeutic interventions for producing measurable psychological changes in order to decrease the burnout level of hospital nurses. Method The research design is experimental, the independent variable being the participation or non-participation of nurses in psychotherapeutic sessions where specific classical psychodrama techniques are originally used. Nurses previously identified with medium or high levels of burnout participated in the clinical study, split into two groups: the experimental one, with 150-min weekly sessions, and the control one, without any intervention. Pre- and post-intervention questionnaires were administered to the members of both groups. Results The statistical analysis of the differences between pre- and post-intervention revealed (a) the decrease of the levels of personal burnout and of burnout generated by the working conditions and (b) the decrease of the depression and of anxiety on four dimensions (self-awareness, ergic tension, veiled and general anxiety). Conclusions The classical psychodrama method can be an effective solution in the prophylaxis and treatment of the burnout syndrome. The multidisciplinary approach according to the PPPM concept including changes of the environmental factors within the professional framework associated with stress control programmes can be promising solutions for the management of this syndrome.

Abstract
Background: Job Burnout (JB) is a multifactorial psycho-cognitive syndrome that leads to physical and psychological problems and declines the efficiency and productivity. Psychological Empowerment (PE) indicates that an individual feels motivated and competent to fulfill work expectations actively. This study assessed the correlation between PE and JB in midwives. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional correlational study was conducted on 282 midwives working in labor wards of hospitals in Isfahan (Iran). Convenience sampling was used. Psychological Empowerment Questionnaire (PEQ) with four domains (meaning, competence, autonomy, and impact) and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) with three domains (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment) were used. Partial correlation and regression analysis were used to analyze the data. p < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: None of the demographic variables had a significant association with PE and JB. There were no significant correlations between the total scores of PE and three domains of JB. However, personal accomplishment was positively correlated with the domains of meaning and competence (r = 0.16, p = 0.02; r = 0.27, p < 0.001, respectively). Autonomy was the only significant predictive variable for emotional exhaustion and depersonalization, respectively (β =0.17, t235=2.34, p = 0.020, β =0.09, t249=1.29, p = 0.020); also, competency was the only significant predictive variable for personal accomplishment (β = 0.29, t263=4.20, p < 0.001). The domains of PE were significant predictors of variance of JB in personal accomplishment domain (R2 = 0.10, F6=4.85, p < 0.001). Conclusions: Meaning and competence could be promoted through attendance in continuous training programs to increase personal accomplishment. In addition, it is suggested to promote midwives' authority to decline their emotional exhaustion and depersonalization.

Abstract
The current semi-experimental pilot study was conducted to investigate the effects of dance and movement therapy methods (DMTM) on compassion satisfaction, burnout, and compassion fatigue in nurses using a pre-/posttest design. Nurses (N = 8) with low compassion satisfaction, high burnout, and high compassion fatigue participated in eight sessions of DMTM. Upon completion of the program, average compassion satisfaction levels increased, and burnout and compassion fatigue levels decreased. Although further testing with larger samples is necessary, preliminary results indicate DMTM is effective for addressing compassion satisfaction, burnout, and compassion fatigue in nurses. Abstract
This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the positive psychological intervention of recording three good things on alleviating nurses' burnout. Eighty-seven nurses with burnout were recruited. Nurses in the study group recorded three good things using communication tool WeChat for six months, no records were made in the control group. After intervention, the score of exhaustion decreased considerably for nurses in the study group. Nurses recording three good things on average twice a week returned the lowest score of exhaustion. This intervention combined with appropriate surveillance and encouragement is recommended to reduce nurses' burnout and create a positive work environment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Burnout is a syndrome characterized by emotional exhaustion, increased depersonalization, and a diminished sense of personal accomplishment due to chronic emotional stress at work. Burnout impacts job satisfaction, job performance, vulnerability to illnesses, and interpersonal relationships. There is a gap in the systematic data on the burden of burnout among healthcare professionals from different sectors of healthcare in Middle Eastern countries. Our objective was to examine the burden of burnout among healthcare providers in the Middle East, how it was assessed, which sectors were included, and what interventions have been used. METHODS Articles were found through a systematic review of search results including PubMed, Web of Science (Thomson Reuters), and PsycINFO (EBSCO) using search terms reflecting burnout in Middle Eastern countries among populations of healthcare providers. Studies were included if they examined a quantitative measure of burnout among healthcare providers in the Middle East. RESULTS There were 138 articles that met our inclusion criteria for this systematic review. Studies focused on burnout in the Middle East among physicians (N = 54 articles), nurses (N = 55), combined populations of healthcare workers (N = 22), and medical students (N = 7). The Maslach Burnout Inventory was the most common tool to measure burnout. Burnout is common among physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, with prevalence estimates predominantly ranging between 40 and 60%. Burnout among healthcare providers in the Middle East is associated with characteristics of their work environments, exposure to violence and terror, and emotional distress and low social support. CONCLUSIONS Burnout is highly prevalent among healthcare providers across countries in the Middle East. Previous studies examining burnout in this region have limitations in their methodology. More thoroughly developed epidemiologic studies of burnout are necessary. Health system strengthening is needed in a region that has endured years of ongoing conflict, and there is an urgency to design and implement programs that tackle burnout among health professionals.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to explore the experiences of nurses providing end-of-life care to patients with hematologic malignancies, in a hematology oncology setting, in an acute general hospital. A qualitative hermeneutic phenomenological design was used, and 2 sets of semistructured interviews were conducted with 5 female nurses. The transcribed texts were analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Two main themes emerged: "battling against medical futility" and "struggling with the emotional burden of care." Nurses perceived that the transfer of these patients at end of life to intensive critical care settings, coupled with the particularly aggressive treatments and corresponding symptom burden, prevented them from experiencing a dignified death. Consequently, nurses struggled with a gamut of emotions that included feelings of helplessness, distress, and compassion fatigue. Providing nursing care at end of life was perceived to be particularly challenging with the younger patients or with those who reminded them of family members. The findings highlight the unique challenges experienced by these nurses and the need to support them in their work with patients having hematologic malignancies at end of life within a well-resourced setting.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Psychodrama is an experiential psychotherapy in which guided role-play is used to gain insights and work on personal and interpersonal problems and possible solutions. Despite the wealth of literature describing clinical work, psychodrama intervention research is relatively scarce compared to other psychotherapies and psychological interventions. OBJECTIVE For this reason we implemented the integrative approach to systematic review that authorizes the combination of publications with diverse methodologies and all types of participants, interventions, comparisons, and outcomes. Our aim was to produce a comprehensive summary of psychodrama intervention research in the last decade that critically evaluates methodological issues to inform future studies. METHODS We searched four major electronic databases (PsycINFO, PubMEd, Scopus by Elsevier, and Web of Science) for peer-reviewed articles on psychodrama interventions published in English between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2017. The quality of qualitative and mixed methods studies was assessed on the basis of pre-established guidelines, and the risk of bias was assessed for all quantitative randomized control studies, consistent with the PRISMA protocol. FINDINGS The database search and a hand search resulted in 31 psychodrama intervention publications. Overall, these studies examined the effects of psychodrama on more than 20 different outcomes and most studies had adult clients. The next largest group was adolescents, whereas only two studies involved children. Thus psychodrama intervention research in the last decade suggests there are promising results in all methodologies, and highlights the need to enhance methodological as well as reporting quality and to theorize and examine modality-specific mechanisms that lead to therapeutic change. Recommendations to improve methodology, transparency, and specificity in reporting future psychodrama and other psychotherapy research are discussed.

Abstract
AIMS To identify the strategies for the prevention of burnout syndrome in nurses; and discuss the results for future interventions that can decrease burnout in these professionals. DESIGN An integrative review of the literature. DATA SOURCES PubMed, Lilacs, Medline, Scielo, and Science Direct, from April 2018 to July 2018. METHODS The sources were in all 553 references were found. The following guiding question was: Which interventions for the prevention of burnout in nurses have been applied and have obtained high effectiveness? RESULTS Based on the inclusion and exclusion factors, 30 studies were selected for analysis. The studies were categorized in individual, group and organizational, being the studies with actions in groups those of greater prevalence. CONCLUSION The actions used to cope with burnout were, for the most part, effective, with some demonstrating greater success than others. From the 30 reviewed studies, the results did not obtain satisfactory improvement in burnout in only three interventions: 1) Systematic nursing supervision; 2) Basic nursing care; and 3) Psycho-oncological training program.

Abstract
AIM To conduct a scoping review to examine and map the interventions proposed for the improvement of the working conditions of nursing staff in acute care hospitals. BACKGROUND The Registered Nurse Forecasting (RN4CAST) project and other studies have determined the impact that the nursing staff has on the quality of care. The nursing staff's higher levels of burnout, job dissatisfaction and negative perception of the quality of care provided caused worse health outcomes. METHODS A scoping review was carried out. By searching in SCOPUS, PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane, Dialnet and in the grey literature, 705 potentially relevant papers were identified. The final analysis included 21 papers and three grey documents. RESULTS The studies analysed proposed interventions at the macro-management, meso-management and micro-management levels, although the interventions at the macro- and meso-levels produce better staff outcomes. CONCLUSIONS The findings of this review can be applied to management at different levels: measures to improve the patient-nurse ratio at the macro-management level, the horizontal hierarchies at the meso-management level, the mind-body techniques at the micro-management level. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT Nurse managers and leaders should implement interventions at different organisational levels to improve the working conditions of the nursing staff and other health outcomes.
