Abstract
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are involved in neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and acute hepatitis, and quantification of ROS is critical for the early diagnosis of these diseases. In this work, a novel probe is developed, based on chiral molybdenum diselenide (MoSe2 ) nanoparticles (NPs) modified by the fluorescent molecule, cyanine 3 (Cy3). Chiral MoSe2 NPs show intensive circular dichroism (CD) signals at 390 and 550 nm, whereas the fluorescence of Cy3 at 560 nm is quenched by MoSe2 NPs. In the presence of ROS, the probe reacts with the ROS and then oxidates rapidly, resulting in decreased CD signals and the recovery of the fluorescence. Using this strategy, the limit of detection values of CD and fluorescent signals in living cells are 0.0093 nmol/106 cells and 0.024 nmol/106 cells, respectively. The high selectivity and sensitivity to ROS in complex biological environments is attributed to the Mo4+ and Se2- oxidation reactions on the surface of the NPs. Furthermore, chiral MoSe2 NPs are able to monitor the levels of ROS in vivo by the fluorescence. Collectively, this strategy offers a new approach for ROS detection and has the potential to inspire others to explore chiral nanomaterials as biosensors to investigate biological events.

Abstract
Fresh milk should undergo sterilization before consumption to eliminate bacteria that can cause foodborne illnesses. Additional antimicrobial measures are beneficial to extend its shelf life. The nanoprobe developed herein can not only inspect the activity of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) for evaluating the degree of pasteurization, but also detect the activity of glucose oxidase (GOD), which is added as a chemical preservative. The facile preparation of the nanoprobe involved introducing gallic acid-Fe complex (GA-Fe) into lanthanide doped upconversion nanomaterials (UCNPs). Based on the alteration of iron's valence state in the complex through a straightforward redox reaction, both enzyme activities could be determined through colorimetric and luminometric dual-signal readouts. With detection limits of 1.669 × 10-5 for GOD and 9.81 × 10-6 U/mL for ALP respectively, this nanoprobe shows merits of easy operation and high sensitivity. Successful application in milk samples demonstrates its potential as an innovative and cost-effective approach to food safety inspection.

Abstract
Luminol and its derivatives are extensively used as chemiluminogenic substrates in bioimaging and biochemical analysis. Luminol reagents can typically emit blue chemiluminescence (CL), whose wavelength is normally outside the most sensitive detection range of human naked eyes and most CL analyzers with silicon-based charge-coupled device (CCD) detectors. Development of luminol analogues with longer wavelength emission is thus attractive. Herein, four new phthalhydrazide CL probes (GL-1/2/3/4) have been prepared through the derivatization of luminol. The most promising one, 5-(4-hydroxy-1,3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)-2,3-dihydrophthalazine-1,4-dione (GL-1), emits bright green CL upon oxidation and shows enhanced CL performance compared to its parent luminol. Bloodstain imaging, horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-based immunoassay, and the analysis of glucose/glucose oxidase reaction have been performed using the GL-1 reagent. These results indicate that GL-1 is a new chemiluminogenic luminol analogue with great potential in real analytical applications and will be an alternative to replace luminol in practical CL analysis.

Pulsed-sonochemiluminescence combined with molecularly imprinted polymerized high internal phase emulsion adsorbent for determination of bentazone. Mikrochim Acta 2022; 189:302. Abstract
A small low-power humidifier with a simple programmable on/off switch was used as a pulsed ultrasound generator. Using this tool, a novel sonochemiluminescence (SCL) method was developed to determine bentazone. To the best of our knowledge, no chemiluminescence method has been proposed to determine this pesticide. Only five studies have been proposed for SCL quantitative applications so far. Therefore, revealing new aspects of SCL promises to develop analytical methods for the quantitative determination of different substances. A molecularly imprinted polymerized high internal phase emulsion (MIP-polyHIPE) was synthesized, bentazone separated from aqueous solutions, and pre-concentrated by the MIP-polyHIPE foam. The adsorption of bentazone on the MIP-polyHIPE adsorbent was theoretically studied by density functional theory through molecular dynamics simulation. Both experimental and simulation results indicated removal and pre-concentration of bentazone by the MIP-polyHIPE adsorbent. Using the proposed SCL method and without pre-concentration process, a linear dynamic range (LDR) of 2.5 × 10-7-5.0 × 10-5 mol L-1 and a limit of detection (LOD) of 8.4 × 10-8 mol L-1 were obtained for bentazone with a relative standard deviation of 2.64%. The LDR and LOD were improved to 2.6 × 10-9-2.0 × 10-7 mol L-1 and 8.8 × 10-10 mol L-1, respectively, using MIP-polyHIPE adsorbents. The method's application was evaluated by removing and pre-concentration of bentazone from water samples, including well, river, and tap water. The results showed that the pre-concentration factor and recovery percentages were 113-131 times and 93-106%, respectively, using the MIP-polyHIPE absorbent.
