Abstract
Uranium is one of the sensitive radionuclides in the wastewater of nuclear powers. Due to the fact that nuclear powers are mainly located in coastal areas, the elimination of uranium (U(VI)) pollution from coastal nuclear power is ultimately rely on marine microorganisms. The fixing of U(VI) on V. alginolyticus surface or converting it into sediments is an effective elimination strategy for U(VI) pollution. In this work, typical marine microorganism V. alginolyticus was used to evaluate the elimination of U(VI) pollution by marine microorganisms. Effects of solution conditions (such as pH, temperature, and bacterium concentrations) on the physicochemical properties and elimination capabilities of V. alginolyticus were studied in detail. FT-IR, XPS and XRD results reveal that COOH, NH2, OH and PO4 on V. alginolyticus were main functional groups for U(VI) elimination and formed (UO2)3(PO4)2·H2O. The elimination of U(VI) by V. alginolyticus includes two stages of adsorption and biomineralization. The theoretical maximum adsorption capacity (Cs,max) of V. alginolyticus for U(VI) can reach up to 133 mg/g at pH 5 and 298 K, and the process reached equilibrium in 3 h. Results show that V. alginolyticus play important role in the elimination of U(VI) pollution in seawater.

Abstract
High-yield selective adsorbents and suitable modification methods are both significant for the efficient treatment of U-contaminated wastewater. In this work, a rich-mesoporous aluminum phosphate adsorbent (APO-10) was synthesized by simply increasing the mass of reactants under a fixed solvent volume. After increasing the mass of reactants ten times, APO-10 has the added defect level, the increased specific surface area, and mesoporous structure, and the increased number and enhanced adsorption ability of adsorption active sites (phosphorus-oxygen groups) on the surface, resulting in an enhanced adsorption performance of U(VI) in various environmental conditions. Its ultrahigh adsorption capacity calculated by the Langmuir model can reach 826.44 mg g-1 at pH = 5.5 and T = 298 K. Its crystal structure did not change after adsorption and remained at 584.40 mg g-1 after 6 cycles. Additionally, APO-10 shows an excellent uranium-selectivity over 68% from a mixed aqueous solution and has excellent applicability in the acidic and alkaline environment based on dynamic adsorption and desorption column experiments. This study not only provides a high-yield efficient selective adsorbent (APO-10) with excellent anti-radiation structure stability for the treatment of radioactive contamination but also provides a feasible modification method by simply increasing the mass of reactants.

Abstract
Assembling graphene oxide nanoribbons (GONRs) into three-dimensional (3D) materials with controllable and desired structure is an effective way to expand their structural features and enable their practical applications. In this work, an ultralight 3D porous amidoxime functionalized graphene oxide nanoribbons aerogel (PAO/GONRs-A) was prepared via solvothermal polymerization method using acrylonitrile as monomer and GONRs as solid matrices for selective separation of uranium(VI) from water samples. The PAO/GONRs-A possessed a high nitrogen content (13.5%), low density (8.5 mg cm-3), and large specific surface area (494.9 m2 g-1), and presented an excellent high adsorption capacity of uranium, with a maximum capacity of 2.475 mmol g-1 at a pH of 4.5, and maximum uranium-selectivity of 65.23% at a pH of 3.0. The results of adsorption experiments showed that U(VI) adsorption on PAO/GONRs-A was a pH-dependent, spontaneous and endothermic process, which was better fitted to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model. Both X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that U(VI) adsorption on PAO/GONRs-A mainly did rely on the amidoxime groups anchored on the aerogel while UO2(PAO)2(H2O)3 was dominant after interaction of uranyl with PAO/GONRs-A. Therefore, as a candidate adsorbent, PAO/GONRs-A has a high potential for the removal of uranium from aqueous solutions.

Abstract
In the present study, SWCNH-COOH and SWCNH-TETA were fabricated using single-walled carbon nanohorns (SWCNHs) via carboxylation and grafting with triethylenetetramine (TETA) for uranium (VI) ion [U(VI)] removal. The morpho-structural characterization of as-prepared adsorbing materials was performed by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Several parameters including the pH value of the aqueous solutions, contact time, temperature, and U(VI) concentration were used to evaluate the sorption efficiency of SWCNH-COOH and SWCNH-TETA. The Langmuir isotherm model could well represent the as-obtained adsorption isotherms, and the kinetics was successfully modeled by pseudo-second-order kinetics in the adsorption process. The maximum adsorption capacity of SWCNH-TETA was calculated as 333.13 mg/g considering the Langmuir isotherm model. Thermodynamic studies showed that adsorption proved to be a spontaneous endothermic process. Moreover, SWCNH-TETA exhibited excellent recycling performance and selective adsorption of uranium. Furthermore, the possible mechanism was investigated by XPS and density functional theory calculations, indicating that the excellent adsorption was attributed to the cooperation capability between uranium ions and nitrogen atoms in SWCNH-TETA. This efficient approach can provide a strategy for developing high-performance adsorbents for U(VI) removal from wastewater.

Abstract
In this study m-AHLPICS (magnetic Arachis hypogaea leaves powder impregnated into chitosan) was prepared and utilized as an adsorbent to remove U(VI) from aqueous and real polluted wastewater samples. m-AHLPICS was characterized by using the BET, XRD, FTIR, SEM with elemental mapping and magnetization measurements. Different experimental effects such as pH, dose, contact time, and temperature were considered broadly. Chitosan modified magnetic leaf powder (m-AHLPICS) exhibits an excellent adsorption capacity (232.4 ± 5.59 mg/g) towards U(VI) ions at pH 5. Different kinetic models such as pseudo-first-order, and pseudo-second-order models were used to know the kinetic data. Langmuir, Freundlich and D-R isotherms were implemented to know the adsorption behavior. Isothermal information fitted well with Langmuir isotherm. Kinetic data followed by the pseudo-second-order kinetics (with high R2 values, i.e., 0.9954, 0.9985 and 0.9971) and the thermodynamic data demonstrate that U(VI) removal using m-AHLPICS was feasible, and endothermic in nature.

Abstract
Herein, the precursor polyphosphazene was synthesized by the polymerization of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCCP) and bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) sulfone (BPS). The adsorbent which was codoped with N, P and S (amidate-CS) was developed from the precursor by using the carbonization method. The images of Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Transmission electron microscope (TEM) indicate that the amidate-CS possessed porous graphene-like carbon lamellar structure. The excellent behaviors with respect to kinetics (120 min for equilibrium) and thermodynamics (maximum removal of 290 mg/g when pH was at 6.0) revealed the outstanding performance of amidate-CS in removing U(VI), which is due to the functional groups and strong covalent bonds between heteroatoms and uranyl ions. The adsorption of amidate-CS followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic and Langmuir adsorption model. The thermodynamic parameters indicate that the process was spontaneous and endothermic. The adsorption and desorption efficiency of amidate-CS had a slight decrease after five cycles, indicating excellent regeneration performance. Overall, the amidate-CS is a prospective candidate for highly selective U(VI) removing.

Abstract
In this work, a new type of hyper-crosslinked phosphate-based polymer (HCPP) polymerized by bis(2-methacryloxyethyl)phosphate has been developed for uranium and rare earth element (REE) extraction in an aqueous solution. The influence of the pH value, contact time, initial concentration, temperature, and competing ions on uranium adsorption of HCPP is investigated in detail. HCPP exhibits a maximum uranium adsorption capacity of up to 800 mg g-1 at pH = 6.0 and excellent selectivity toward uranium adsorption over coexisting ions, because of the high affinity between HCPP and uranium ions and dense phosphate groups on the backbone. It also demonstrates high adsorption performance in both simulated seawater with a high salt concentration and a real nuclear industrial effluent. Besides, the crosslinked network structure of HCPP endows this polymer with high chemical stability and reusability. Furthermore, the adsorption mechanism is probed by energy-dispersive spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared measurements. It is confirmed that the adsorption of uranium on the adsorbent originates from the interaction between phosphate groups and uranium ions. Meanwhile, HCPP also displays high REE adsorption capacities. This work indicates that the phosphate-based HCPP could be utilized as a promising adsorbent for the effective removal of uranium and REEs from aqueous solution.
