Mechanochemical Synthesis of Highly Porous CeMnOx Catalyst for the Removal of NOx

Synthesis of Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs)-Nanocellulose Composite and Its Thermal Degradation Studied by TGA/FTIR

At present, the synthesis methods of crystalline porous materials often involve powder products, which not only affects the practical application but also has complex synthesis operations and limited scale. Based on the mechanochemical method, we choose COF-TpPa-1, preparing TpPa-1-DANC composites. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a kind of crystalline material formed by covalent bonds of light elements. COFs possess well pore structure and high thermal stability. However, the state of synthesized powders limits their application. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) are promising renewable micron materials with abundant hydroxyl groups on their surface. It is possible to prepare high-strength materials such as film, water, and aerogel. Firstly, the nanocellulose was oxidized by the sodium periodate method to obtain aldehyde cellulose nanocrystals (DANC). TpPa-1-DANC not only had the crystal characteristic peak of COFs at 2θ ≈ 5° but also had a BET surface area of 247 m²/g. The chemical bonds between COFs and DANC formed by Schiff base reaction appeared in FTIR and XPS. The pyrolysis behavior of the composite was characterized by TG-IR, which showed that the composite had good thermal stability. With the advantages of nanocellulose as a material in every dimension, we believe that this method can be conducive to the large-scale synthesis of COFs composites, and has the possibility of multi-form synthesis of COFs.

Solvent-free liquid-phase selective catalytic oxidation of toluene to benzyl alcohol and benzaldehyde over CeO2–MnOx composite oxides

A novel CeO2–MnOx composite oxide was prepared by the improved sol–gel method. The synergistic catalysis of Mn3+/Mn2+ and Ce4+/Ce3+ was responsible for the good catalytic performance in the liquid phase solvent-free selective oxidation of toluene.

Low-Temperature Selective Catalytic Reduction of NO x with NH3 over Mn-Ce Composites Synthesized by Polymer-Assisted Deposition

The Mn _x Ce _y binary catalysts with a three-dimensional network structure were successfully prepared via a polymer-assisted deposition method using ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and polyethyleneimine as complexing agents. The developed pore structure could facilitate the gas diffusion and accelerate the catalytic reaction for NH₃ selective catalytic reduction (SCR). Moreover, the addition of Ce is beneficial for the exposure of active sites on the catalyst surface and increases the adsorption of the NH₃ and NO species. Therefore, the Mn₁Ce₁ catalyst exhibits the best catalytic activity for NO _x removal with a conversion rate of 97% at 180 °C, superior water resistance, and favorable stability. The SCR reaction over the Mn₁Ce₁ catalyst takes place through the E-R pathway, which is confirmed by the in situ diffuse reflectance Fourier transform analysis. This work explores a new strategy to fabricate multimetal catalysts and optimize the structure of catalysts.

Nanosized V-Ce Oxides Supported on TiO2 as a Superior Catalyst for the Selective Catalytic Reduction of NO

Nanosized V-Ce oxides supported on TiO2 (VCT) were prepared and utilized in the low-temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3. Compared with the other V-Ce oxides-based catalysts supported on Al2O3, ZrO2, and ZSM-5, VCT showed the best SCR activity in a low-temperature range. The NOx conversion of 90% could be achieved at 220 °C. Characterizations including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning election micrograph (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), temperature-programmed desorption with NH3 (NH3-TPD), and temperature-programmed reduction with H2 (H2-TPR) showed that V1.05Ce1/TiO2 exhibited a good dispersion of V2O5, enrichment of surface Ce3+ and chemical-absorbed oxygen, and excellent redox capacity and acidity, which resulted in the best SCR performance at low temperature.

Significantly enhanced Pb resistance of a Co-modified Mn–Ce–Ox/TiO2 catalyst for low-temperature NH3-SCR of NOx

Co modification can significantly improve the performance for low-temperature NH₃-SCR of NO_x and the Pb resistance of the Mn–Ce–O_x/TiO₂ catalyst.
