Abstract
The functionality of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is often encoded by specific chemical moieties found within these architectures. As such, new techniques to install increasingly more complex functionalities in MOFs are regularly being reported in the literature. One such functional group is the disulfide bond. The redox behavior of this covalent linkage renders MOFs responsive to stimuli, often under reducing conditions. Here, we review examples in which disulfide-containing MOFs are deployed in applications including drug delivery, therapeutic ferroptosis, exfoliation, energy storage, sensing, and others.

Abstract
Energy is the center of importance for the survivability of civilization. Use of fossil fuel is going to be suspended, and renewable energy is technologically costlier. In the quest for new energy sources and to minimize fuel expenditure, the design of energy efficient devices is one of the solutions. Toward this objective, highly delocalized π-acidic N-hetreocycle pyrazine bridged Cd(II)-based coordination polymers (CPs), [Cd(tppz)(adc)(MeOH)] (1), [Cd(tppz)(trep)] (2), and [Cd(tppz)(2,6-ndc)] (3; tppz = 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(2-pyridyl)pyrazine) are synthesized in combination with π-accessible dicarboxylato linkers (acetylene dicarboxylic acid (H2adc), terephthalic acid (H2trep), and 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid (2,6 H2ndc)). The structures of the compounds, 1-3, have been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction measurements. Analysis of electrical property demonstrates that light irradiation enhances the conductivity and follows the order 3 > 2 > 1; compound 3 possesses the highest conductivity (1.93 × 10-3 (light), 1.12 × 10-4 S m-1 dark)), than 2 (1.80 × 10-4 (light), 1.10 × 10-4 S m-1 (dark)) and 1 (5.06 × 10-5 (light), 4.72 × 10-5 S m-1 (dark)). This light-induced electrical conductivity can pave the way toward fabrication of an active electronic device by using the discussed materials.

Abstract
The design and synthesis of electrically conductive coordination polymers (CPs) are of special interest due to their applications in the fabrication of many environmentally benign emerging technologies, such as molecular wires, photovoltaic cells, light emitting diodes (LEDs), field effect transistors (FETs) and Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs). Owing to their structural flexibility, easy functionality and adjustable energy levels, CPs are promising candidates for providing a better pathway for superior charge transport. Again, the utilization of visible light as an external stimulus to control and manoeuvre the electrical properties of the CPs is exceptionally motivating for the development of many optoelectronic devices, such as photodetectors, photo-switches, photodiodes and chemiresistive sensors. The applications of such materials in devices will solve questions regarding the energy crisis and environmental concerns. This study provides an overview of the recent advances in the development of photo-responsive CPs and the possibility of their application in developing optoelectronic devices. In this regard, a thorough literature survey was performed and the studies related to the fabrication of photosensitive conducting CPs for applications in optoelectronic devices are listed.

Abstract
Responsive polymeric hydrogels have found wide application in the clinic as injectable, biocompatible, and biodegradable materials capable of controlled release of therapeutics. In this article, we introduce a thermoresponsive polymer hydrogel bearing covalent disulfide bonds. The cold aqueous polymer solution forms a hydrogel upon heating to physiological temperatures and undergoes slow degradation by hydrolytic cleavage of ester bonds. The disulfide functionality allows for immediate reductive cleavage of the redox-sensitive bond embedded within the polymer structure, affording the option of instantaneous hydrogel collapse. Poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(lactic acid)-S-S-poly(lactic acid)-b-poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG-PLA-SS-PLA-PEG) copolymer was synthesized by grafting PEG to PLA-SS-PLA via urethane linkages. The aqueous solution of the resultant copolymer was a free-flowing solution at ambient temperatures and formed a hydrogel above 32 °C. The immediate collapsibility of the hydrogel was displayed via reaction with NaBH4 as a relatively strong reducing agent, yet stability was displayed even in glutathione solution, in which the polymer degraded slowly by hydrolytic degradation. The polymeric hydrogel is capable of either long-term or immediate degradation and thus represents an attractive candidate as a biocompatible material for the controlled release of drugs.

Abstract
[Cu(CPA)(BDC)]n (CPA = 4-(Chloro-phenyl)-pyridin-4-ylmethylene-amine; BDC = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate) has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-Ray diffraction measurement. The structural studies establish the copper (II) containing 2D sheet with (4,4) square grid structure. The square grid lengths are 10.775 and 10.769 Å. Thermal stability is assessed by TGA, and subsequent PXRD data establish the crystallinity. The surface morphology is evaluated by FE-SEM. The N2 adsorption-desorption analysis demonstrates the mesoporous feature (∼6.95 nm) of the Cu-MOF. This porous grid serves as heterogeneous green catalyst with superficial recyclability and thermal stability and facilitates organic transformations efficiently such as, Click and Knoevenagel reactions in the aqueous methanolic medium.

Abstract
The reversible switching of bonding modes in coordination polymers through the application of external stimuli leads to versatile mechanical and electronic functions. However, the exploration of such a system remains a great challenge. In this study, we designed liquid mixtures comprising a photoreactive organometallic ionic liquid and a bridging ligand, which form intermolecular coordination bonds upon photoirradiation. The liquid mixture of an ionic liquid [Ru(C5H5){Ph(CH2)3CN}][(SO2F)2N] (1) and a tridentate ligand N(C2H4CN)3 was transformed into an elastomer of an amorphous coordination polymer upon ultraviolet photoirradiation. By contrast, the photoirradiation of the mixture of 1 and a bidentate ligand NC(CH2)4CN produced a highly viscous liquid comprising coordination-bonded oligomers. In these reactions, photoirradiation causes dissociation of the organometallic cation, followed by the formation of intermolecular coordination bonds via the bridging ligands. The photoproducts underwent reverse reactions thermally. Based on coordination transformation, the ionic conductivity and viscoelasticity of these materials were reversibly controlled by the application of light and heat.

Abstract
Herein we report the design, synthesis, structural characterisation and functional testing of a series of Cu(ii) coordination polymers containing flexible 4,4'-dithiodibenzoate ligand (4,4'-DTBA), with or without auxiliary N-donor ligands. Reaction of Cu(ii) with 4,4'-DTBA yielded a 1D coordination polymer (1) based on Cu(ii) paddlewheel units connected by 4,4'-DTBA, to form cyclic loop chains with intramolecular voids that exhibit reversible structural transformations upon subsequent solvent exchange in methanol to afford a new, crystalline, permanently-porous structure (1'). However, when the same reaction was run with pyridine, it formed a porous 2D coordination polymer (2). We have attributed the difference in dimensionality seen in the two products to the coordination of pyridine on the axial site of the Cu(ii) paddle-wheel, which forces flexible 4,4'-DTBA to adopt a different conformation. Reactions in the presence of 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bpy) afforded two new, flexible, 2D coordination polymers (3 & 4). Lower concentrations of 4,4'-bpy afforded a structure (3) built from 1D chains analogous to those in 1 and connected through 4,4'-bpy linkers coordinated to the axial positions. Interestingly, 3 showed reversible structural transformations triggered by either solvent exchange or thermal treatment, each of which yielded a new crystalline and permanently porous phase (3'). Finally, use of higher concentrations of 4,4'-bpy led to a coordination polymer (4) based on a distorted CuO3N2 trigonal bipyramid, rather than on the Cu(ii) paddlewheel. The connection of these motifs by 4,4'-DTBA resulted in a zig-zag 1D chain connected through 4,4'-bpy ligands to form a porous 2D network. Interestingly, 4 also underwent reversible thermal transformation to yield a microporous coordination polymer (4').

Abstract
In this work we report fabrication of high-quality AB- and BA-type heterostructured thin films of cubic Cu(II) (A-type) and tetragonal Cu(I) (B-type) coordination polymers (CPs) on the functionalized Au substrate by the layer-by-layer method. Successful growth of Cu(I)-CP on top of Cu(II)-CP was assigned to be due to the interfacial reduction reaction (IRR). Notably, electrical transport measurements across AB- and BA-type heterostructured thin films revealed rectification of current in opposite directions. We have attributed such an interestingly new observation to the formation of a well-defined interface of Cu(II)-CP and Cu(I)-CP resembling a p-n junction-a hitherto unreported phenomenon that is anticipated to open enormous opportunities for the heterostructured thin films of CPs, likewise celebrated interfaces of oxide heterostructures.
